It's criminal that this man hasn't won an award for his role as King Viserys yet
I thought he had
Crazy honestly he was great
No award deserves Paddy. Hes too good.
He deserved the awards. I'm mad he didn't get them.
He’s such a gentle thoughtful and unassuming man i don’t think awards really concern him.. he Just enjoys the work and process
His performance in House of the Dragon was stellar. Hopefully some awards coming his way.
and he gets to bang emily carey, not a bad job.
It's good when the author says an actor far exceeded the character he had created
He won't recieve any as critics called his acting "mediocre".
@@sw-gs Who are these "critics"?
He gave viserys so much warmth and vulnerability 😭😭 definitely going to be missing that sorely in the next season
I wish he stayed king the whole time . The best characters always die
@@Allyourbase1990yeah.
His cameos were honestly among my favorite moments from Season 2. Always a delight having Viserys back.
Already miss him as Viserys. Even GRRM commended him for how much heart and soul he brought to this role
"I never thought I was particulary good at acting" - says the man who gave one of the best acting performances I can remember seeing in a long time as King Viserys Targaryen, First of his Name. I think you did alright mate!
Imposter syndrome or basically reversed Dunning Kruger. Dumb people think much higher of their skills than clever, talented people
Gosh, man...the way Paddy made me sob during his final speech at the dinner scene, both physically and emotionally unmasking himself and begging his family to make amends so he could die peacefully... George R. R. Martin was absolutely right when he said Paddy's portrayal of Viserys made him want to revisit and maybe even rewrite the character due to the depth he brought to him, a depth that wasn't in Fire and Blood.
It was a crime that he was not even nominated for an emmy! That walk scene should have guaranteed him at least a nomination.
Kinda insane that they put Pedro Pascal for Last of Us over Paddy in House of the Dragon. I really didn't think the acting on Last of us was that good.
@@VDA19because, and this will blow your mind, it isn't just about skill, it is a popularity contest
@@Captain_Insano_nomercy Isn't House of the Dragon bigger than the Last of Us, though?
@@VDA19 I mean actor popularity
Agreed
That scene with Paddy walking into the throne room was one of the best on TV.....ever, followed closely by the dinner scene! He is a true artist and showman...such a great actor!!
His performance as Viserys seriously is among the best acting i've ever seen in both tv and film. I seriously struggle to think of other performances that's as good or better.
He absolutely steals the show of season 1. And it's a really interesting watch. The more his character decays the more his acting becomes amazing. And to say he steals the show is a true testament. There are several really powerful actors involved with that project. They all get their moment to shine but Paddy was the most consistently fantastic.
And you know he is having a good time when he is all over emily carey.
@@bosmith1820 weird
His performance in that episode (8 of Season 1) was Shakespearean. One of the best things I've ever seen on tv.
He should've atleast been nominated for an Emmy
"I never thought I was particularly good at (acting)" - one of the best actors on the planet
“Never went to school for it”
This guy lol
He absolutely smashed that character and most definitely that death scene and episode. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Paddy's acting in that episode of House of Dragon was absolutely AMAZING!!!
My father also died of cancer a year before season aired and viserys dying was very reminiscing, some scenes were hard to watch for this reason, thank you for this amazing performance.
I can relate so hard on this. My dad passed away of lungcancer 5 years ago and the way Paddy looked on hotd really freaked me out. It was like watching my dad die all over again. They looked the same, the teeth, the pale face, and the way he was breathing. My dad wanted to die the natural way, but trust me, I wish he didn't...
Viserys's passing is one of my favorite television moments in recent years. The episode builds up to that moment by ironically taking down every ounce of strength and energy he might have had. The moment he lets go is when I do too. The editing of the scene just brilliantly frames and supports his sincere, subtle and intimate last words, "my love." What a performance.
He is a splendid actor. Definitely my favorite character.
Paddy's role in HOTD is the standout performance of the first season. Unreal. The Throne Room scene in particular is really quite arresting to watch.
Brilliant Actor....should have an Emmy for that performance.
Paddy Considine has been good in everything I've seen him in. Could never have imagined he'd think he wasn't good enough to do it sometimes.
The throne room and dinner scenes were heart wrenching to watch, I can hands down say that Paddy's performance as Viserys Targaryen was excellent. This man definitely deserves and award for his role in House of the Dragon.
After the GOT ending everyone was so skeptical of revisiting this material. Somehow HBO came roaring back and restored Game Of Thrones' TV luster in just 10 weeks. Bravo!
lol, it was pretty slow mate. Hopefully season 2 picks it up.
@erosion271 Hey if you like slow boring tv shows that is your right. Not ADHD, but life is awesome and if you don't entertain me I'll do other things. Too much cool stuff to do in this world.
@erosion271 I love that use that as an insult. Yeah sorry I'm not watching boring bland tv. I loved GOT(other than the last season) but HoD was a bore. Saying I can't sit still isn't an insult. I have an active lifestyle so yeah if you can't entertain me, I'll go outside and do more entertaining things.
@@bosmith1820 you’re missing the point and keep saying the same thing again and again. you’re the only one who would classify it as boring, and you keep referencing needing to do different things to be entertained. Why do you need to be ‘entertained’ 24/7? Having a scene with meaningful dialogue is of no interest to you? It needs to be non stop action, explosion, bombs, fighting, killing, the entire time? Just because you have ADHD doesn’t mean GoT is slow and boring. If it was, then it wouldn’t be as hugely successful as it is now, would it? It was engaging and interesting
@@stancexpunks Lots of other people have classified it as boring. And lol I don't have ADHD and didn't find game of thrones boring. Loved the show, didn't like House of Dragon. Glad you do. I'll watch other shows that are faster paced.
He was easily one of my favorite characters . I think he’s an incredible actor
Paddy Constantine masterfully gave total life to Viserys across several different ages and states of decay, his humanity truly was among one of television’s finest and most heartfelt performances.
Paddy should have won an emmy for this role. He knocked it out of the park!
Episode 8 really hit me. I think I finally saw Vaserys for who he was…I was teary-eyed in every scene he was in. Stunning performance.
What an incredible actor. King Viserys is one of my favourite television characters of all time.
Rich is a truly great interviewer. Allows the guest room to really tell their story.
Dead Man's Shoes.....he was brilliant in that
Paddy and Emma are some of the finest actors i have seen in a very long time
Paddy is in a completely different league to Emma, she's honestly pretty average acting wise
@@2jz-boiPaddy is a more theatrical actor but Emma is an extremely talented face actor. They're honestly underrated, I'm not quite sure what show you've been watching lol
Love paddy, his band riding the low, his performance As Viserys…. Hot fuzz keep doing a great job mate
“You’ve got a moustache”
“I know”
The scenes of Viserys walking alone to the throne with great difficulty, his speech in the throne room, the dinner speech, and his death scene are some of the best scenes in the ASOIAF story.
This series is shaping up to be amazing and Paddy Considine knocked it out the park.
My God!! What a phenomenal actor.. the man is a LEGEND!
He's basically the Ned Stark of HotD isnt he? Only there for one season but is praised and referenced in future episodes.
Paddy played and acted a King so F***ing well!!!! It's crazy, his tones and emphasis in key moments were just SPOT F***ing ON!!!!
What a humble man, i loved his scenes the way he speaks and moves and the way he shows love to his own family,he knew how to make his character behaves fatherly, a terrific acter
It's highly endearing when you hear an actor of his calibre admit that he truly didn't believe he was any good, and you know he's telling the truth. Then you think of how incredible he is in every role he does. A true artist.
Paddy is truly a master of this craft, king Viserys is a phenomenal job, the family speech at the final dinner brought tears to my eyes.
Hope more work from Paddy is coming, such a talent!
EP 8 him coming to help rhaenyra was one of the best scene
That 8th episode where he walks in the throne was a very emotional scene but yet powerful for his role as a King 🥹
He did some excellent work on season 1. I also loved the limping to the throne scene and his speech at the dinner. If only they had listened...
I’m so glad he didn’t quite.. because he WAS AMAZING !
Him walking to the throne to show his love and support for his Daughter, ❤ any girl out there that has that kind of relationship with her father .. knows the intensity that was . He even called her “My only child “ in that one moment . I was bawling my eyes out in that scene, I lost my father and it reminded me of how he was always my biggest supporter and inspiration. And to see him a shell of himself in the end was so hard to witness. That episode hit hrs for me .
That was one of the greatest performances ever, every scene with him. Who would have ever thought a spin-off could contend with early GOT.
He was fantastic as Viserys… the fact he can’t watch himself is criminal, he’s missing one of the best performances - glad he at least saw episode 8!
He kept the season together. At least for me. Incredibly well executed
He nailed it, one of the best performances I've ever seen, I felt everything he tried to make me feel, 10/10 all day 💯
He was by far the best character and actor on season 1 !
Incredible performance as King Viserys! He's definitely one of my favorite Kings in the entire franchise
He should have won an Emmy...he got snubbed so badly! He was great in the role, amazing job...
Deadmans shoes wascmy favorite film with Considine, his acting just blew me away. That film also did not get enough credit it was a film that changed your perception.
Dead man's shoes will always be my favourite paddy movie. He is a quality actor and really seems like a decent, humble bloke.
I've never seen Paddy give a bad performance in anything tbh
Such a great actor 🤙🏽great sense of humor
paddy seems like such a genuinely kind and sweet and humble man. 💜
Absolute genius actor at the top of his game. Simply brilliant in this role and truly hope he has more like this ahead of him
If you’ve ever watched a loved one wither away to nothing, you realize how great his acting was , makes me think about my own mortality and how you can go from a mountain of a man to a skeleton just like that ,life is so fragile it really does hang by a thread.
I don’t think I’ve been so excited and so sad to see an actor die on screen as two different characters. I remember cheering when he died in Peaky Blinders, and nearly cried when he died in HotD. Didn’t even realize it’s the same actor until after he died and had to see what else he’s been in.
This guy really pulled me in during the first season. Really liked his character which was surprising since his name is Viserys and I always hated that guy on Game of Thrones.
That dinner scene was remarkable. And Viserys was taken out of the room prior to chaos ensuing. His last memories of his family, all gathered around, were good ones.
That walk to the throne was epic. A dying man, summoning all of his strength so that he can sit the throne and help his daughter
My grandmother died of cancer around the same time House of the Dragon aired. I was amazed by Paddy’s ability to portray a character who is dying slowly of a terrible ailment; so much so that I wondered if he had experienced something similar. Knowing now the story of his father‘s illness I can appreciate his performance even better. Incredible.
You didn't just do a good job Paddy....you delivered an ICONIC performance!
So nice to see him healthy as heartbreaking it was to see his character whither away and die. Such a legit performance and very much appreciate his humility. He's a far better actor than he leads on. I hope to see him do more projects.
They are an incredible ensemble cast, and I'm heartened to hear that this talented man could appreciate his own performance and gained some much earned confidence
Paddy Considine made me feel a way only actors like Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Day-Lewis, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Leo, Jake Gyllenhaal can make me feel, with his role as Viserys. Absolutely breathtaking performance.
That walk to the throne room was, start to finish, one of the best scenes in cinema I’ve ever seen.
Glad Paddy never did quit. He is amazing. Drama, comedy, he is just so good.
He should.. He’s a brilliant actor.
He was perfect as Viserys. He definitely had that kind, likeable quality about him.
Oh wow. What a humble, genuine person. Rare to see. I'm officially a fan.
I love this man! Such a brilliant actor and a lovely human being ❤❤❤❤❤
He was soooo good in HOD ❤
you mean HOT D
Oh Paddy, you were a treasure. Your performance as King Viserys was a master class.
One of the greatest performances ive ever seen on television. Dude did a tremendous job.
Him during the dinner scene was one of the best acting performances I’ve ever scene
The walk to the throne was a moment
Loved him in Hot Fuzz!
He was fantastic. The chemistry between he and Matt Smith was so beautiful: true brothers.
He is so missed in season two. 😔🫶
everyone talks about the throne room scene but the scene that makes me tear up is the speech at dinner, god damn he’s a phenomenal actor
Its absolutely insane that he didn’t even get an Emmy nomination
The scene at dinner and the music starts and they start dancing I thought was the greatest part, I really liked the music...
Episode 8 was magnificent. Paddy was perfect. Nobody else could have done it that well.
I love this voice too...I miss him on the show
Paddy was brilliant as King Viserys, he just nailed it.
Acting wise, he was the best in the show. So, so good.
Acting was stellar!! I knew he was channeling a personal experience in that character.
He was amazing in S1, Emma D'Arcy too.
Paddy is a gangster, love the range he has for comedies and dramas! He was also excellent in The Outsider
Phenomenal acting absolutely phenomenal
I'm glad his wife made him watch it. That episode you could tell there was a little bit of wariness, but it was fun too...which it needed as "the calm before the storm". The tragedy was that Alicent had a misunderstanding about Aegon, but was also busy and distracted herself, and so naturally she wanted her son to be on the throne. But I cannot accept that he didn't get a trophy at one or two award shows, because he was f***ing brilliant in that episode.
A crowning performance amongst a court of very fine actors.
He’s the Ned Stark of HotD, doesn’t make it past S1 yet is most people’s favorite character and acting performance
He also does an excellent performance in Blitz. A very underrated movie.
He's a brilliant actor, abseloutely brilliant, if anyone hasn't seen "dead man's shoes" it's a must see
paddy's performace is some of the best acting ive ever seen. this dude killed it as viserys
As an actor not particularly known for playing dramatic characters he put on an absolute clinic
Man every actor ive heard they always say that they either don't watch their show or they don't like their acting
His performance is one of those few pieces of acting where you want to meet him and just thank him for what he did!
