- Slow pitch jigging is becoming one of my favorite ways to target all types of Offshore fish species. In this video I head out with @thefishingpublic9389 on the 37 Freeman to target Grouper and other bottom fish with nothing but Slow pitch jigs on board! We started jigging in 220ft of water and eventually moved out to 1200ft to put our skills to the test! We Definitely caught some Giants and PB's!

I didn't see an electric motor on that boat. Were you drift fishing or where you actually anchored up in that deep water??
We drift fish most times when we're jigging..If we come across a nice markup on the sonar Capt. Will hold us in place when the main engines by kicking them in and out of gear
What's the line 20 lb braid capacity on the Dawia 300J electric reel? Did you choose 20 lb just to get down to a certain depth?
It’s a lot. I think I have around 700-800yards of daiwa x4 jbraid on it. And I could have tightened the drag more and winch it up, but don’t want to push the reel to its limits and burn it up, so I hand cranked most of it up.
@@CaptCollier That was a big AJ. It looks like the Goofish Monster rods are only offered as a two piece, how do you like it compared to the blue Goofish?
@@martinsteflik1329 When you put them together it acts as if its a one piece rod. You couldn't tell unless you already knew. And i like it so far. Very beefy yet still light enough to where its not a problem jigging in deep water all day.
What size braid and leader do you use on your jigging setup?
20lb Daiwa Jbraid 8 strand
@@CaptCollier what about leader? I was out yesterday jigging and kept getting broken off at the leader. I had 30 lb leader
@@clearwaterboating Yea thats pretty light. I use 50lb 90% of the time, sometimes 40 if the fish are picky.

What guide setup do you like on your Goofish rod?
I prefer the spiral wrapped guides to the left. The monster deep model that i was using with my electric reel didn't offer spiral wrapped when i got it, but it doesn't seem to make a huge difference
@CaptCollier thanks for the response. I thought it was left spiral in all your videos on the blue goofish, but wasn't 100%
