i felt the line about political views. i was asked that last week what my political views were, like liberal, conservative, libertarian etc. i said that "i'm me"
I am totally amazed at how Oliver has United everyone with his song, I just hope it continues I pray that it continues, united we stand divided we fall, and I pray that we will become United once again❤😂🇺🇲
@@kb6349 i think it's similar in many ways, but what happens after this decade is what will define it. look at the french revolution. they deposed their monarchy then ended up putting a dictator in charge for a short time and then went back to a monarchy. its going to be a long haul. I think we are on the same side. stay strong, please.
YES SIR.........absolutely 100% spot on your assessment of politics and where we are as a country, and what must be done. Oh yeah, great review of the song as well. Keep waking people up Sir. We need 1000 more of you. 🙏
In my opinion, Dax has always been a great artist and he has done a great job of reimagining this song 🔥. I agree with you 💯 on the political situation MrLBoyd👍
You sir need to be running something for the people. I hope your show has such an impact, you grow and grow! Love the EIN comment. Track those suckers whenever we want to!! Bravo!
the thing that blows my entire mind is that people are so close to getting it, but then so far away at the same time. Dax's verse so eloquently sums up the reality for so many americans, essentially relegated to working forever to pay rent while never having a chance to actually live. yet in the same exact verse, he talks about not having political views or that politics doesn't matter. the current distribution of wealth that created the poverty he's rapping & oliver is singing about is entirely political. politics is literally about distribution of power and wealth within a capitalist system. they're so close yet so far away.
Dad mentioned common sense, something that Thomas Paine used as the title concept for his political pamphlet. I think the statement about not having political views and politics not mattering is short hand for partisan politics or playing politics. There is no solution to our problems without politics because politics is the affairs of the people.
@@undercomposition then i guess they either don't have a coherent political worldview or can't express it whatsoever. all the song really does is point at poverty. it does nothing to even point out a root cause for the poverty, let alone a solution. it ends up falling back on the cliché "we just gotta band together, common sense wins the day guys!!" no. that's meaningless babble. that's a feel good message with no actual teeth or feet to stand on, what does that actually mean?
I listened to Dax a lot love his music love. The message that he brings this is the first time I've heard you. I like what you had to say about it. You have a lot of common sense. And you know how to articulate it.
Yes! RMNoR Part 2! If not for the original, I would not have heard or listened to Dax -- I am not a rap fan. But, he seems to be a big deal from the reactors. I REALLY like this remix as well as the others. Dax is now on my radar. I appreciate people waking up and really appreciate all of the unifying that is occurring. I hope it's not too late. Appreciate your reaction. Great comments and analysis!
I think what we're actually in is late stage "crony capitalism". But past that, I really love this song and your reaction and I can't express enough how much I enjoy your thought process and commentary. To some degree you sort of remind me of Eric July. But the questions I'd ask people to think about, how have we become such a political society? What do we do to change it? How do we come together and stop allowing the nuts to run the nut house? How do we change the masses so that at very least we alter the "two party" system (Honesty it's one party imo.). I'm not asking anyone to reply. I'm certainly not seeking debate. I just believe individually these are some questions we should pose to ourselves. Thank you again for the reaction and the thoughts.
At this point I think its fair to say that capitalism will always result in crony capitalism. As long as surplus labor values are extracted for profit corporations will continue to grow beyond control and have power to influence.
@@Dreketh I'd argue the solution to that is to weaken the entity that can be influenced and yet powerful/controlling, ie the government. Regardless of the political or economic system, a powerful and controlling centralized entity will always result in cronyism and corruption. Instead let's allow the wealthy to bribe an entity that is powerless.
So, what do you think the answer is - a huge government taking "surplus labor values" and putting them into free stuff? THAT's what we supposedly have now and it's only getting worse because the government always skims off the top. What we need is local people making their own decisions with real businesses, not government protected corporations. Government is always the problem.@@Dreketh
You put is as clear and to the point at is should be. We are past the best of what America has been in the past. We are "Owned" by corporations and we are told what to believe, what's real, and what we should be doing. The internet, in my opinion is the best and the worst thing to happen to our world. We have completely lost control of what is important. At this point, we have gone way to far down to road, but we COULD still turn things around. The people that are focused on growth together are the ones that will ultimately help us get back to where we need to be.
We ran across your channel when the OG tune came out and enjoyed your reaction > you just did an outstanding job on this reaction and your comments so from both of us thank you for your well-spoken truth..
They say Tough times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create tough times. I think a soul in pain creates good music.
This song is amazing and I agree that DAX is the perfect person to deliver this perfect rendition and much improved / I should say ‘more powerfully poignant’‼️ - you had a very spot on and insightful commentary on this!! (my only comment would be that the “swamp” I’ve been Washington, or making a lot more than 2,3, $400,000 a year - they’re becoming multi millionaires because they’re being paid off by lobbyists and corporations and that’s what the finding the swamp is!! That’s why we need somebody that’s not a politician to go in and undo this corrupt “corporation” that Washington DC has become‼️‼️‼️‼️💯💯‼️‼️
You said it, bought with federal income taxes, and sold with handouts. Why? So, the centralized government can be the provider and take over as the father in these single mother households. I survived the projects/ghetto because I managed to escape. I learned the importance of fathers because mine couldn't be there for me. The ghetto is designed to keep people generationally poor and dependent. It's the new plantation. What are they growing? Votes, votes from people forced to vote for the same politicians who keep them there. They vote for the people who promise to keep their pittance coming because the "free" schools have failed to educate and help you choose a life sustaining career. They need poor people to stay poor and dependent.
I've commented on multiple reactions to Rich Men North of Richmond that because of views imagine a song/collaboration between them. This I believe could Hopefully be a step in that direction???
People also have choices. Some people choose materialistic goods opposed to saving. There are way too many people struggling however. Anyone who works should be able to have a comfortable life, a life worth living. When millions don't we have a broken society. US has been bought and sold. The US citizens should all stop paying taxes asap.

I love the conversations Oliver Anthony has sparked. I hope it keeps going. Dax's remix is fantastic.
from one folk song that should have been said a LONG time ago.
I never thought this song could be improved. I stand corrected.
Wouldn't say improved, just a different style.
Chris Webbys remix is better, and DAX copied his music vid... Webby has already come out addressing it, on IG
I am totally amazed at how Oliver has United everyone with his song, I just hope it continues I pray that it continues, united we stand divided we fall, and I pray that we will become United once again❤😂🇺🇲
We are in late stage crony capitalism or oligarchy, where big business and rich people can buy politicians and policy.
I don't know...feels more like 1776 to me.

I really like your take! Being a representative used to be voluntary! Taxes used to be voluntary as well. Now it's an industry all it's own.

Damnit man. Spot on!!!!! I’ve been saying for years that serving in Congress should be like jury duty, not Willy Wonka’s golden ticket.
I love when Boyd says "right".
He's such a fast thinker too so it also helps me to catch up a bit everytime he says it.
Dax did an amazing job!!
Bless that dude
he copied Chris Webbys vid of his remix...
I just ❤ the artist and human being Dax has become
Dax sent me😂😂😂Music for the people, spread by the people!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think adding term limits could help with the over paying of politicians. Nobody should be in office for 50 years.
Term limits in Congress would be a great start. It was never meant to be a career.
@@michaelriddick7116 100% agree Mike

Would love to see DAX and Oliver on stage together....
