Fruity waveshaper is HUGELY overlooked! To the readers of this I’d recommend that you simply try adding a waveshaper to any drum sound or the drum bus and increase the curve (not too much) then have a fruity soft clipper after it (leave settings as is) explaining why this works is more long winded than you just trying it out for yourself, you will learn what it does just by listening to the result.
For sure is a good way of getting anything to sound fatter! For a short explanation you’re increasing the volume / saturating and then clipping to lower peak volume.
I really love the balance of being specific and not being too specific at the same time on an issue and you nail that. Also I am really hyped for your new track!

Yeah it’s a decent tool. Really good for the price, it just displays a lot of information at once which is super useful when making music. But going back to what you said, I don’t feel like you should aim for your sound to “look” a specific way. All songs / styles are different, and I would rely on your ears and not your eyes

Damn, it can get this complicated and intricate? All I do is narrow them to the middle and drown them in a compressor, and they sound great 😂

Usually do soft clipping. But I use both, I guess my advice would be to try both and select the one you like the sound of better
