Don't listen to the nay-sayers. Something like this is something you do for fun, to enjoy, don't listen to the people who try to bash you. You guys did fine.
Not a bad try. I'm doing my own fan film as well. The one thing that pulled me out from the beginning was the planets atmosphere. It shouldn't go around to the dark side of the planet and you might want to add some clouds over the planet to suggest it's a living planet.
People left such horrible comments. It was a good fan fic. I loved the first kill - the red flash and plasma. The special effects looks good. Placing the hilt on the last foe then igniting it was cool. There were lots of great ideas and some very awesome executions.
KoenigPeckelsThe Jedi council has refused to train hipsters or contemplate their logic. It was decided after the Tube Top Wars of Attamendell. LOL-know your efforts are respected & its only a little fun. I look forward to more films.
Ain't the second piece the gunslinger draws at the end Hellboy's gun? I'd say that this packs in a lot of action for eight minutes. Nothing is really resolved, but it's an enticing glimpse into a previously unexplored section of the galaxy. Some of the props seemed very earthish- the radio, the rain coat, and on a bad day, that's enough to make me switch off, but for some reason this flick gets a pass- perhaps the sufficiently alien mob boss and his off-planet jibber-jabber swung things? Shembalo khakee!
Okay so... Story wise, pretty okay. I was kind of confused as to what was happening but for the most part I got the general idea. Visually not the best. For the shots when a ship was in frame, There was 0 movement. For all I know, It could've been a picture with a REALLY-well-keyed-in person(s) walking. I understand why you guys had a tripod though, and it was for the ship in the BG. To fix that, just scale up the clip and move it around using keyframes(if you still went with the tripod) to give it synthetic camera movement. Or, Track it in using (I'm assuming you're using AE) After Effects built in Motion tracker. Also one thing about the shot at 4:34, you don't need any "out of focus blur" because your actual BG isn't out of focus. It is clearly obvious that it was added in because of the added blur. Now if your actual footage had a blurred BG, then it would have worked. The effect was cool, but you need to make it accurately fit the shot by looking at the surrounding colors and looks. One more thing, the opening sequence in the desert was super cool, but for a guy who loves VFX, I could tell that the sky was put in or digitally altered by using the Roto-Brush tool. This could work if you were insanely mastered professional at it but you're not quite there (I'm not either so its cool) an alternative way to doing this would be by using the Hue/Saturation effect and going to the color of the sky (If it were blue, go into the blues tab) and change that specific color. Cinematography wise, It wasn't terrible, but the shot at 5:51 was way too extended. I would've cut it around the 5:54 mark. But the shot at 1:16 was pretty rad... I know I kinda slapped you with a lot of criticism but it's not to get at you, it to help you. You have great potential and have all of the parts of the engine, you just need to put it together in the right ways. I believe in you dude! (Also that green poncho looks like it's from Unbreakable which is super cool)
I'm making my own fan film, we start filming next month. I'm curious, what was your budget for this film and what visual effects did you use for the sparks after the stab at the beginning of the film?
probably only spent about 200-250 dollars for props and costumes, the majority of the cost from the lightsaber we bought. And we use After Effects and Final Cut.
To be fair though the movies are shot in real places with barely any editing. Look at a new hope or any movie with tatooine (honestly can't spell it off the top of my head) and you'll see they only had a twin sun
I'm sorry...I hate to be "that guy", but...that shuttle engaged hyperdrive while in atmosphere. Gravity keeps that from happening, you MUST clear planetary masses to jump to lightspeed. Think gravity well generators.
So (slight spoilers)...
Placing the hilt on his chest and then igniting it, was SUPER dope

Great job! One of my favorite Star Wars fan films I’ve seen
Not bad, given the budget it was made with. Would be interested to see more of this story.
who the hell wants only 1000 credits. that can hardly get u shit

6:33 cellphone in pocket ... things that make you go hmmmmmmm
[@Mubashir Qureshi] Could it be a pocket-sized personal datapad, perhaps?
Just a theory.

How do you sneak up on someone running at full speed in a wide open desert. And it looks like Megamind got jacked.
Meh, still a less confusing plot than in The Last Jedi.
oh dear god help us !! there are guys in skin tights jeans in the star wars world.
Redacted Free Press Apparently. I heard they wear crop tops too.

6:12 & 5:50 You could make a fleshlight commercial out of these.
Is that the Orion constellation shown in the Star Wars galaxy?
Try using a different color-tint for the plants and sky....
Not doing a very good job of convincing me this is a planet alien to Earth.
This is epic
it's lit dudes
I thought this was a galaxy far far away. Why is the constellation Orian in that galaxy. Wow I've heard of low budget, but this is no budget.
ken damron You're exactly right
My curiosity was piqued when I saw the second blaster.... Who else noticed what I did. Not saying anything wrong... In fact, i admire the ingenuity.

They are dressing wrongly. Take care of it please
Next time use a less know constellation.
ken damron: why? Planet Earths been through 7 previous iterations of technologically advanced civilisation previously

George price they do it in rogue one?
KoenigPeckels Rouge one has it wrong as well. I posted that an another video.
It's canon
KoenigPeckels so is Jar Jar...point?
George price point is your wrong wrong . This is Star Wars not real life
Good job
cooolio
(;
This was terrible do not attempt to make another one...ever.
Craptastic... plastic rain parkas...denim jeans, stilted dialogue, 5 cent settings, yawn worthy minimalistic cgi.
A complete waste of time.
