    The Plena being that close to the edge of the table.... D: Thanks for sharing your kit!

    The Plena is the best lens I've ever owned. It's odd to work with being only a 135mm, but those results... speak for themselves. It's a fat, chunky lens. Love it!

    We have similar kits. I have a Z6, Z7, and Z50. My lenses are 14-30, 24-70/2.8S, 28/2.8, 50/1.8, 70-200/2.8S, and 16-50 APS-C. I’m very happy with everything.

    I think we have a lot of similarities in our choice of gear. I am still on the fence about a full frame wide angle though, because I am not a fan of forcing you to choose between a F4 with a great focal range and aF2.8 with a very narrow range that requires you to change lenses. I am still using my old F-mount F2.8 17-35mm D lens , but its focus performance tests my patience. A prime example of why I need a more versatile lens is that I was in India recently with my 24-120mm F4 and in certain situations I needed to go down below 20mm and in others I needed to go up to 20-35mm but needed an extra stop of light, and it was pouring rain which made changing lenses a very big risk if I had the combination of 14-24 and the 24-70. Moreover, I only bought the 24-70mm lens once in my lifetime for an old Sony body that I have, and the focal range did nothing much for me. It was neither wide enough nor long enough to make me feel that I was benefitting from a zoom lens. I always left with the feeling that I wanted more wide or more telephoto. It seems that for my full frame wide angle shooting I will either opt for my Canon R with the exceptional 15-35mm L lens, or just get a Sony 16-35mm F2.8 and adapt it to my Nikon full frame bodies.

    Awesome kit! The Z30 looks so fun to use and the Z6 still takes amazing photos. The 24-70 2.8 is fantastic, my favorite mid range zoom.
    How are you liking the Plena? The images are stunning. Seems like the perfect portrait lens for headshots but how about body shots or groups? I worry it’s too long.
    If I had a recommendation it would be to consolidate your 14-30 and 17-28 with the 14-24 2.8. It’s a stunning lens with crazy sharpness and still fairly compact. Works great for astro too.

    Nice Kit !! the Plena is my next purchese .
    In terms of camera , my main is the Z9 a beast!! , this thursday I picked up a ZF "used" with 61 click from someone who regreted for 1700 USD , with a box and full warrenty.
    Great camera! took it out for a short spin today the AF , is close to my Z9 , not quite there but still very very good.
    Lesses - 70-200 2.8 , 85 1.8 , 50 1.2 , a bruised 24-70 2.8 ( smacked on tarmack but still work , no weather sealing anymore though) , 14-30 f4 , and the tamron 35-150 2-2.8
    2nd round tomorrow! wait for a Z6 III it's going to be a killer.

      You've got an incredible kit! That ZF for 1700 is such a steal and pairs really well with the Z9. Well done

    If just shooting static subjects Z6 is a good body..me waiting for nikon’s 105 1.2 or a 35 1.2 S-line lenses.. I’m not hyped with a new body as i only shoot stills not to much moving subjects so a good glass for me is must.

    Sell your Z6 man, EXPEED 7 is the way to go these days ( ZF,Z8,Z9), Do not wait till the Z6iii is released coz your Z6 will depreciate even further. Had a Z6ii and I couldn't be more happier getting rid of it for a ZF.. It's a different beast

    • @TheProjectPhotography
      @TheProjectPhotography  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Definitely looking into upgrading the z6 and that ZF is absolutely something special.

      I'm low key hoping they keep the mechanical shutter, better dynamic range is a must for landscape photography

      I mean the sensor is no different to the zf so unless you really need the autofocus performance I know reputable photo journalist using the z6 so keep them. For video might be a different story

    I have the Z6 II and just added the Z8. I have the 14-30mm, because I didn't want to buy a whole new set of filters for the 14-24mm, the 20mm for astrophotography, 28mm and 40mm for street photography, I traded my Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 for the Nikon version when I bought my Z8, the 85mm f/1.8, 1 macro, a Sigma sport 70-200mm, and the 180-600mm. I may try to replace that Sigma lens this year or next. It just depends on how things are going. I don't use it that much anymore and it weighs twice as much as the Nikon lens. Plus I want to use just native lenses and get away from this party unless it's a lens Nikon doesn't have. Something like a lens baby or Voightlander. Maybe even a Viltrox. If I catch a deal on a used 50mm or 70-200mm I might get it and then sell my 70-200mm.

  • @donaldjones2106
    @donaldjones2106 Před 7 měsíci

    That's a lot of lens. For a long lens I have two. 1 Tamron 18-400 2 Sigma 150-600 more for birding or air shows. I am not a pro and seem to use the Tamron a lot.

  • @Ben_Stewart
    @Ben_Stewart Před 7 měsíci +2

    I am very tempted with the 17-28 but if they release the Z50ii I might opt for the 16/1.4 from Sigma. Have you considered the 180-600 as a starter into telephoto photography?

    • @TheProjectPhotography
      @TheProjectPhotography  Před 7 měsíci

      I haven't used the 16mm f1.4 from sigma but have heard good things about it. I also haven't considered the 180-600mm for telephoto photography, but wouldn't doubt it!

  • @Mr09260

    I traded in my excellent 24-70 f2.8 S for the far more Practical and just as good IQ Z 24 - 120 f4 .. Way better than the 24-70 f4 and even better than the 24-200

    If Nikon put out a 28mm S lens. Would you upgrade?

    • @TheProjectPhotography
      @TheProjectPhotography  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I would definitely consider it 👀, but I would love to see a 24mm f1.2. that'd be an insane lens. The 28mm serves such a different purpose than what a 28mm s-line would provide

  • @Mr09260

    My Astro Lens is the 20mm F 1.8 >> way better than any f2.8 lens

  • @Mr09260
    @Mr09260 Před 7 měsíci

    Your Z6 cameras dont have ISO 64 and 45 M Pixels for cropping possibilities and you have that extra sensor/Shutter thingy that the Z7 has NOT = IQ advantage of Z7 >> WHY 2 x Z6 ??? unnecessary in my book >> that money could have bought a Z8

  • @Mr09260
    @Mr09260 Před 7 měsíci

    I have a simple MINIMALISTIC but very necessary for African Wild life Z System. Z8 camera , 20mm f1.8 S , 24-120 f4 S , 70-200 f2.8 S, Z TC 1.4 and Z 180 - 600 f5.6 -6.3. I want for nothing >> all these folk with 5 cameras and 20 lenses >> I mean you can only take a photo with one camera ata time >> Rather save your money and get a camera that does it all and wont get old without a Mechanical Shutter limitations .
