Very good this is the very 1st & Obviously, THE very BEST ,& guess what??? Soooo, now... it's also the ONLY CZcams video I will ever have to watch in my life on the basics of removal, adding a shim('s)to adjust both the drive & driven clutches for proper OEM alignment, & reassembly on my 1996 Polaris Scrambler 400 4×4's shim kit... Since we ALL know now that... YOU Sir, are 👉 100%(#ONE$HUNNIT%) Tha REAL Shim Shady... So, SHIM Shady... will you please stand up???please stand up??? Cause you have my thanks🤜🤛 and my 👏 applause!!! 🧐shkrrrk🤔... 🗣It looks like we might NOT have a problem here!!! So what, Chicka, Chicka, Chicka SHIM Shady... So, here you go... this🖕 is fo' all U utha, Wanna be SHIM Shady's out there... AWESOME VIDEO... SERIOUSLY GREAT JOB!!!
I noticed my 2001 polaris 600 classic touring drive belt dragging on the primary clutch. I disassembled the secondary. The buttons have a little wear. Can or will worn buttons cause the belt tension to increase by letting the sheaves close? Or do I need to add large washer / shim to the secondary? Idle is in check. Alignment should be fine. The parts diagram shows 3 washers whereas the clutch has 1..? Thanks
Thanks for the vid, is there a way to know If shimming is needed and how much to shim, my belt does not go completely inside the secondary which seems to make the belt to tight and makes my polaris atv move when I am in idle, but i'm not sure if that is the problem. It may be an alignment issue...
+hairynose656 Yes it could be an alignment issue, but if you google the proper hight that your belt should be sticking up outside the secondary cutch you could look at yours and see if it is in spec. Adding a shim will lower your belt and removing a shim will raise your belt, good luck solving your problem! PS: Is your idle too high?
thanks for the video, and your comment about removing a shim to raise the belt. By this do you mean it will make a loose belt tighter? my 95 Explorer 400 has a 2 inch deflection with a new belt and i'm wondering if the shims are the problem or is it something else.
Dude u just helped me out out so much believe it or not so simple know I know palaris sport 400 is almost ready to rock in role

Hey hooks nation, great video, really helped. I'm having a tough time finding the shims, where did you get them.
is there a bearing that can be fused on top of where the snap ring is located? when I take my secondary off I do not see a snap ring
Awesome. Helped me out a lot!... where did you get the shims from?
What clamp is that you’re using

Anyone have a link to get the shims?

Hooks Nation No, my idle is were its suppose to be, at least compared to other sportsman 850 xp like mine (1150-1200rpm). Thanks for the info.
