What really helps to get GC is:
1. Quit your job/school
2. Take a bunch of Adderall and play 8 hours a day
iv been gc for ages playing tops of 6 hours every week so idk what ur on about
@@hsxrty yeh staying gc I play once every season to get gc reward in 2s and thats it but to get to gc for the first time It would take a lot of time.
i guess i will be diamond forever without these stuff
Nah not really, you can get GC1 easily if you just train and use free play correctly with 8 hours a week
@@hsxrtyu took that personally!
Confidence is key!!! I feel like just imagining that ur opponents are half asleep even if they aren’t can give a huge mental advantage. A lot of players including myself sometimes don’t force certain challenges out of respect for the opponents possibly hitting a crazy shot. Not giving opponents time to set anything up and keeping offensive pressure is great advice cbell!!
yeah first man should challenge either way that’s a big problem i run into i’ll be behind my teammate and he’ll just give them as much space as there is from earth to mars instead of just forcing them to make a worst play and giving me a free ball and leave me in a pre jump make one of the best save of my life situation
Its worth noting, A lot of times when the game feels easy and like you've discovered some type of "hack" or successful way of playing.
It tends to be during our peaks, which may not be mechanical peaks. We can have ups and downs with our game sense as well.
For me, my ups are way up. and my downs are horrible. My volatility is insane depending on mood and anxiety levels.
I've had many times over the last 5 years where I'm just confused on how I've been so bad (always when im peaking hardcore)
And when I'm really bad, I can't break out of it. Its not just hesitation or missed challenge timings. It's something fundamentally changed in my brain, my way of thinking was altered by something else and suddenly im an inconsistent mess.
This is rocket league.
Bro fr i hate it
Same, just goes to show how robotic you have to be in order to find success in highly competitive games. Basically have to be in flow state nonstop with a very high level baseline of emotions and confidence that never changes lol
@@johnlepe5580
i feel that so hard, on the high highs and low lows. my lowest point is around gold, my peak is somewhere in diamond. it evens out at plat. just gotta get good enough that the lows aren't as low
I swear bro glad to see another player with the same problem
When UP
i hit multiple resets in backboard redirects
When DOWN
i can't even get a simple reset
When UP
i got that gorillaglue airdribble
When DOWN
i cannot do a simple 3touch airdribble when my life depends on it
3:39 that's a legendary edit
Exactly the comment I came looking for 😂
Good advice. It's one element of the Flakes 2v2 series which is still how I hit GC in 2s and 3s this season. Step one is don't over commit, step two is learn how to take advantage of the other team over committing, which they will do frequently. I don't know if it's an attention deficit as much as it is just not understanding the game but either way it works so.
Alternate title: A GC pretends that faking and playing slow is a revolutionary and sure fire strategy
In today's game I'd say it kind of is lol
@@PantsofVancenah you’ll get smoked in 1600
I mean at least at c3-gc1 this is a good strategy, cause people dont pay attention and just pass the ball to you most of the time. but yeah, at higher ranks this is not gonna work this well
It is though, with everyone hitting reset musty psychos and quintuple resets, just forcing them off the ball when they do that gives them no choice but to shoot early. If your tm is even remotely awake they will see that and have an easier save
cbell's lobbies are so free, im in d2 and i cant get out cuz of smurfs/people being absolutely cracked. its worth to note that i play on ME.
cbell casually gets a streak of 9 when he’s is rusty
Alright CBell. You convinced me. I’ll go ahead and get GC real quick

3:36 this shit had me rolling. Perfect.
So happy you posted this. What youre describing has been my playstyle for like a year now and im currently a champ 2 who can barely arial. Being able to force a flick or a challenge to give your teammate space is THE most underrated skill in this game.
I also noticed that fewer players in high champ/GC seem to force shots. I used to go for GC in 3s, but since last season it feels tougher to me and part of it is that ppl rather try to out-mechanic than just force a simple shot, more ballside than backpost rotations and not rotating out at all leaving me puzzled in the back.
Just wanna say I'm really enjoying your videos. I knew of you before and have seen the odd video, but not much and then got bored with RL. Getting back into it now and really enjoying your content, there's something more chill about which was exactly what I was looking for without realising, something a bit different. Subscribed :)
I'm a GC that doesn't pay attention, and I feel attacked 😂
I got to GC in 2018, and I since then me and my friends have lost the motivation to try. We play ranked like it's casual basically. So when we're screwing around we fall down as far as champ 1. People get angry because we do stupid things but still win, but we're just having fun😅
I'm gold/plat but yeah mostly just playing for fun. I have days where training or ranking up is what's fun, but usually i just go in and have a blast in comp, go for mechs i can barely do, do weird shit, hunt demos, whatever. Sometimes the weird stuff is actually so good though.
@@reed6514 We make our own fun, and shouldn't be blasted by it, you do you!
@@sebben13 but if u do it in 2s with a solo queue teammate its a bit selfish cos ur dragging them down with u
@@edgeribble I agree, I've never played with randoms like that. That's the only time where I tryhard, so I might help them with a win :)

I went from low gc1 to high gc2 in about 3 hours of play time just by basically ball chasing and forcing the opponent into awkward positions. Then I tried the same strategy on an alt that started at middle of c3 and I literally could not get out of champ. You basically just have to adapt to the opponent depending on how they play. Also, if you’re trying to get gc in 3s, it’s just not gonna happen.
I’m gc3 while playing like this, peaking at ssl for a few games. I noticed around a year ago that no matter what rank everyone is they always panic when they get the ball. If you force them to give it away it’s always a free ball for your teammate. Whenever I try to play ultra fast like these 14yo prodigies I sit at high 1500 low 1600.
Such an amazing video! Ty for the tips!!
I got out from the hospital after a surgery in January with half working left hand and fingers barely moving, not having played RL for 2 months. Went from C2 to GC1 in a streak doing exactly the same thing. Can confirm this is the meta :))
This might sound silly CBELL but that's EXACTLY what i noticed when i was struggling in C3. Just Yesterday i got back to GC focusing on JUST paying attention. It's crazy we had the same idea.
Very entertaining video, had me laughing. Thanks for another great video!
finally cbell, I might get competent ranked teammates. it's so annoying trying to play this and the teammate is NEVER ready for a force, no matter how long you delay it to try and have them ready.
Let me guess they say you keep whiffing the ball while they are sniffing your tailpipe the whole game and blame you?
Because I feel your pain
happy early birthday we love you
A very nice and motivating video, ranked is so stupid nowadays. Thank you Cbell
Stupid really. Especially in 3s. As I literally down ranked from c3 to c2, to c1 people just kept playing better. It didn't make sense. In c3 everyone was asleep. In low c2, my last match, they were sweatin. One of my teammates even did the Zen signature shot.
happy bday cbell❤️
Happy birthdayy!! 🎉
Hardly ever do we get some straight up inspiration. Thanks for this one especially CBell
"W Sauce O'clock" and his quick questioning himself made me laugh really hard.
It's funny I started figuring this out today. I'm normally 3rd man because my teammates rush up so I'm in a lot of 2v1s and I just took my time a lot more and forced them which worked out well as long as I could avoid the demos.
Thanks for the tips
fyi theres also rank inflation, like now is the best time to get GC because a lot of people have climbed through the ranks and into much higher MMR, whereas every GC and above starts the season around 1550 or whatever it is and it's a bloodbath
That “forcing” idea makes so much sense. I knew of it and kinda how it works, but now I am ready to try it in my games. Thanks! Good video!

Hands down best RL video I’ve seen in a while! Finally hit GC for the first time last night!
Content and editing on fleek
This video is epic W sauce!
Happy Birthday!!!

Wow CBell great video
I just hit gc for the first time and when I saw this video my heart dropped cause I thought rocket league made easier but they didn’t. Looking back at my gameplay (I recorded) I saw I played really well and deserved it.
They did make it easier everyone is hitting gc now it’s not hard
Really? Did they announce that?
@@Derrkksthey actually made it harder
@@RLBadger Where did you find out this information from?
@@ProDanBoiwell not long ago they changed the mmr from 1515 to 1415
CBell just wanna let you know this video inspired me to finally grind it out again. Hit GC again today after a long break from ranked 💪👍
happy birthday cbell
After watching this video I went up 2 divs, one game away from 3 divs, so close I’ll probably get it tomorrow. The mentality is so important. Thank you CBell
funniest shit is when homie pulled up the ruler, very nice edit there you got.
13:32
"Has this happened to you?"
Literally almost every game 😭😭
10:40 I like to call that a Rule 34
This video Helped so much I was able to get to GC for the first time I have been hard stuck champ for so long
This is all useful information that I learned from watching Flakes several years ago and it can be very effective. Shadow defending with fake challenges , patience , decision making, and boost management are all great skills to focus on and can help you rank up quickly if executed well. If you do anything, shadow defending with fake challenges as last man can help buy your teammate time to recover and a lot of times the opponents will panic and give away the ball.
"I have no mechanics!" Also Cbell, hits a flip reset
Its not really hard
very good tips cbell, love ur vids! Ur getting better and better
true
happy birthday!
Aight cbell im gonna get that champ i lost like 2 seasons ago back tonight thanks man
i have been grand champ for literally 6 years. never ssl but never lower than gc... if you find that one awake tm8 just play till you lose with them and that helps a lot
I like the tip about letting teammates who ball chase, ball chase. Just adapt to your teammates and try to be the best teammate possible. I’m not very mechanical and I’m gc2 after 600 hours
Hey cbell great vid something I wanted to ask you I have been playing rocket league for 5 years and I can’t get higher than plat three and low diamond any tips to help me get better
this is a great video, thanks, it’s what I always try to tell people that say my mechanics are bad because i can’t musty or flip reset… you dont need that stuff in champ if you just play smart and are good at defense
champ is basically just faster diamond, lol
Alright I'll start grinding even more I'm at my peak mmr rn. In champ 3 for the first time I'll be GC now with your help thanks for letting me know!
Haven’t played in a month. This makes me want to come back
8:26 "I'm not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with me."
oh wait Cbell uploaded this
it was in my recommended but bcuz of the pfp i didnt know lol
Maybe I can finally hit diamond after 3 seasons (400 hours) in plat 😩
Also, advanced birthday wishes Cbell
thanks so much! for real tho 29 is wild... I started making RL vids when I was 24. why does time go forward
Not the person I expect to learn how to rank up from after all the videos I’ve seen but it works lmao
« That doctors hate » 😂
Honestly if people just played more ones they'd realise the importance of maintaining pressure and positioning despite boost deficit. It is SO dangerous to suddenly and without warning abandon the ball as first man, it creates a no man's land and you end up having to either go all in or try and fake and bait from 50m away. Stay in the play people!
I've been playing around Champ 2 the last few weeks. The Smurphs are insane and there not even hiding themselves. The have bronze tourney titles. And perfect flip reset mustys every other shot.
ngl, after watching this video, my game mindset switched up completely. literally in tears as i hit plat for the first time in my 190 hours of game time. thank you cbell.
I have that same controller bro I love it. Just curious did you swap the sticks out? I did and got the longer ones and love them
this is really good advice, the only thing that ruins it, is the tm8 that goes full nuclear toxic, and starts shooting on your own goal when your up 2-0 cause he doesnt like the slow pace lol, but other than that i won 4 out of 6 doin it
W sauce o'clock 💀💀💀
Thanks Cbell after playing since Covid and being stuck in c3 for at least two years I’ve made GC a week from watching your video. ❤
I just watched this video twice and I hopped in a game, lagged out for a bit and still won in OT lol
nice vid bro.
Its positioning and decision making. You put yourself in the right place ahead of time to be able to force the opponent to make a play or force a 50-50. Its also proper rotations so that when you've done that, you either already set your teammate up or are in the process of getting out of the play so they can go do something. You probably said force a few too many times lol, but I gotchu
I find im very good at this I just sometimes get stuck in a mental game with myself and I esitate, use too much boost, underestimate my opponents ect. Some days I dont and other days I play too cautious in addition to these things.
Cbell can you make a video on what to do when you force for your Solo Q teammates who dont know how to hit the ball
This mentality shift is gonna change the entire way I see the game. Thank you CBell and hope you have a great birthday 🎉
This just shows how playing smart is so much easier to get wins the just committing to everything
Happy birthday
Bro literally yesterday I got GC for the first time and then this comes up, and I've been struggling for so long stuck at C3 div 3 and 4😂
I've been hard stuck c1 and seeing quite a few smurfs is annoying too, i feel like im getting better and can hopefully get c2-3 next season
3:06 LMAO
The most amazing part about this, is that there werent that many mechanics hit, that i dont see in D2. i mean they are faster, but you dont need to be humongously mechy
6:23 was top shelf bamboozling!
Hey cbell I love your videos when you gonna stream again?
I actually did this and i went from Champ 1 Div 2 to Champ 2 Div 4, thanks haha
Cbell: I wasn't even nervous 4 seconds later oh no 3:56
After this vid I want from 1320 mmr to 1394. Thank you so much cbell!
bro i love you
i had literally been stuck low gc high c3 for the past few months but then last week, i went from 1350 to 1600 mmr which is gc2 in one session. literally had like 15 wins in a row for no utter reason XD
This is exactly the video I needed. Coincidentally I am around 1350-1400mmr and I can’t help but wonder how easy this rank is if I look at the way this guy plays 😮
Grand Champ is like a plateau where people stop caring about their rank .. same happened to me back in old season 8 (before f2p) I hit the highest rank back then and just hang out in gc/2 since then, barely playing anymore.
This is what I've been saying all along. Just chill and be a good 2nd for your tm, play smart and be an immovable object in defence. Apply pressure at good moments and it's gg
Thank you for not giving up on Rocket League ❤
I played RL with about 120-140 ping on good days so I am very familiar with the ball seemingly phasing through my car.
Silver II right here... Going to try this method rn!
