people are saying Chris's standards are too high or intimidating but I 100% am on his side. Most of what he said is just based on the person's character, flexibility and willingness to learn and grow as a person. Someone who can't cook scrambled eggs? It's not they're a bad cook, it's that they're consistently bad at cooking (don't learn to improve) or even is a careless person (to let something just burn). You can only burn and waste food so many times till you realize that person just sucks as a human. Kudos to Chris for having good standards 👍🏻👍🏻

@@bwingbwinggwiyomi they do feel very subjective, but I think it can be extrapolated to mean the more general values they talked about, but those things he said are the signs that flag the person as someone who might not fit with the values

@@CalaCrisp88 yo don't judge LOL I learned how to cook eggs but would specifically looked up Gordon Ramsey's recipe and his technique of cooking the perfect scrambled eggs really is quite liquidy LOL (it's like constantly folding in the eggs while on the heat and off the heat quite a number of times) I think it's cuz people don't realize you're supposed to let it cook itself a bit.

What Jen said about parties is so true. Honestly even with just regular friends, I find it hard to connect with them if they're the type to drink and party every weekend since I don't drink or hit the club either. Honestly that's probably something I need to work on since it's hard to ONLY find friends that aren't into drinking/partying.
Imma just not comment because Chris brought up a good point: it is not always what is not there, but realizing the dynamic between you and the person you're getting to know/getting into a relationship with. What you typically expect from someone, may adjust because of the dynamic you have... That's beautiful!

Literally, every time Jen mentioned a red flag, I was like "SAME!!" She was definitely on point.
I really appreciate Taylor and Chris bringing up the gender norms and potential homophobia associated with guys caring about style and fashion! It should not be an expected responsibility on the girl to “fix” her partner’s style. And if a guy wants to dress better, he should feel comfortable exploring that without any assumptions about his sexuality.

i think the cooking one is totally reasonable, if youre a grown adult you should be able to feed yourself and not rely on take out 24/7. im not asking for someone to be able to cook a 5 course meal but the basics at least or the willingness to learn over time, idk i see people around saying 'lmao XD instead of boiling water i would burn water!' like thats nothing to brag about please learn some basic skills so you dont starve..

when yall started talking about eggs, it reminded me of when i was in 1st grade and had learned already had to cook fried eggs and i had eaten like 4 in one day. i asked my brother how many eggs is too many and he said 2 a day is fine... so i thought i was gonna die or get some disease or stomach issue because i had eaten 4 XD oh to be young and naive

A lot of these are minor annoyances. My red flags are if they've had too many partners in a short amount of time, if they have bad hygiene, if their friends are all assholes, if all your friends dont like this person. I feel like red flags are a bit more serious.

This was so funny to watch cause all I can think about is my boyfriend's friend and I'm just like "yeah, he's a red flag" XD (PICKY eater, only eats burgers/hot dogs. Hard disagree on quarantine hair -- if anything, that's the opposite of a red flag! It means the person was so careful about staying indoors as much as possible that they didn't go out for a haircut.

AND seconding kudos to Chris! I think he's coming from an open-minded POV of someone with more experience/being in a committed relationship. I feel like the more specific the red flags are - the more idealistic instead of realistic your mindset is for dating and looking for your partner!

i think it's totally reasonable. also he never said eating too healthy is pretentious, it's only a problem if u act like youre above people who eat fast food. for some people, thats all u can afford, so it's kind of insensitive to act like youre above eating fast food.
if they dress poorly, i think that one is less of a red flag, but they should at least look presentable and show that they care about themself. i think the red flag would be if a guy thought caring about style and fashion makes him gay or less masculine.
and cooking eggs makes sense bc it's a basic skill. no one said u should be a masterchef, but you should at least be willing to try to learn the basics. u cant just live ur whole life ordering take out
