Mainland homeless not ( not from Hawaii) should be detained, assess for mental, drug, physical, etc….issues. Cleaned up shaven Fed and given one way plane tickets to West or East coasts. I think one of the main reasons there are so many people heading toward homelessness is their education and their age. It is one of these levels we need to find out if they are able to want to or cannot do it may be reading, writing, laziness, mental issues or too old or don't know why or knowing what they want? Some people or these Adults are like they prolly missed the boat in their life and fainally realizing that if they went to school or have not taken drugs they would be in a better situation. We may have second chances in life. But we should learn from a young age to make sure we don't have to or should always have a backup plan for our future. Everyone is different in all areas of life. From rich to poor, old to young, and abused and mistreaeted. will find themselves in this situation.

Well the car part is a myth. However as far as mother nature is concerned being homeless in Hawaii is easy. I was December/2013/May 2014. Is it something to glorify?? No.. but it's something I could tolerate. AND another issue I think many places on the 48 mainland have about the same % of homeless people However they're not so easy to detect because they actually are living in a car. South California for example you can fall under the radar. Hawaii just how far are you going to drive??

Hawaii has too much publicity. They'd be far, far better off in Florida where they'd have the whole East Coast to travel around and probably find a cheap house etc to buy and settle down, or try Mexico just outside the US border where it's super cheap to live and they can walk across the border for jobs, benefits etc. Hawaii is a terrible choice.

If ima stay homeless I'm thinking Hawaii would be much better weather wise . And no I don't got no mental issues, or drug problems or nothing like that. Some probably even had a well off person on the mainland buy them a ticket to send them to someplace warm. I talked to a guy who was living in his car I believe he said in Colorado I'd I remember correctly. Well he did odd job's for cash. No real money contract to what you need to live on.
