  • The easiest one click distress or stamp effect in illustrator I have made so far. This has to be one of my new favourite new tools. The one click distress effect in illustrator, make your own illustrator distressed texture It’s so easy to use and apply distressed texture. Simply open the file, load the graphic styles or import the library file, select your design and CLICK done. Go from a flat sharp design straight to your chosen distressed effect in illustrator.

10:09 Before you expand your artwork, in your Image Trace panel, go towards the bottom and click on Ignore White. After you have done that and tweaked any settings, I highly recommend playing with the sliders to familiarize yourself with how to get the best quality out of your tracing results, then you can click expand in the menu or go to Object, Expand.
The less clicks you have to make, the faster your workflow will become.

Graphic styes REALLY slow down your file and Illustrator performance. I have a newer mac with 128gb of RAM, optimized Illustrator settings, and still noticed a significant decrease in performance. I use transparency for my textures and its way better for performance.

After outlining the text, would it not be easier to just hit Ctrl+8 to create a compound path?
