We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.
-
THANK YOU ❗️
Thank you for taking a second to eat the food right after buying it. So many cooking channels will buy the fast food, drive home, set up for filming, and then eat. By that time it’s sat for 45min - 1hr 30min. Then they complain that’s it’s cold, soggy, or whimpy.
Or when they bring the food home, do all the setup, and then make their version ... The. Have someone compare the multiple hour old drive thru vs their fresh homemade lol.
Wow what shocking results.
I mean they're kinda famous for doing that but good on them for recognizing their mistakes
My favorite is Josh Weissman, who will actually abuse the food, throw it around a little, slam it on the counter, and then try it, lol.
Actually, sam usually orders doordash, gets it delivered, then lets it sit for 45mins-1hr 🤣
I like that this is specifically targeted towards joshua weissman
@Sam Zien , Please make a cheeseburger to honor Jimmy Buffett passing away, Jimmy's last concert was on May 6 in San Diego so it's fitting that you make a special cheeseburger and call it "The Jimmy"
FR!!!!!
Add capers to your tartar sauce, not too many but it takes it, "to another level". 😊
The chunky tartar sauce "that's what she said" comment made me laugh for about 30 seconds. Thanks for that.
You gotta start using Old Bay on your seafood prep and bump it up a notch. For more crisp you have to have a bit hotter oil or flash broil them after the fryer. Getting hushpuppy done right is an art. I'm surprised ARBY'S didn't give you malt vinegar for the fish.
That curly "fry" you grabbed was hilarious because that's the jackpot. I pretty much never go to Arby's but you saying that tastes good makes me wanna try now lol.
HELL YEAH. You fid it right. Tasted it right there when it was fresh. YOU ROCK!!!
He's made way better briskett already. I recreated it. Worked like a charm. Stier briskett!
I miss Arby's onion rings. I do tend to like their fish I don't have cable and yet there's still so much to watch!
I’m here. Gave it a like. Notifications always on. I’ve been subscribed for a awhile. Got lucky when the algorithm recommended your channel back in 2019. Thankful. I don’t comment on every video. I just felt the need to today to wish you all continued success
You're a content sensation - keep rocking it!
I don't think there are any Arby's here in the UK, but those fish strips are similar to what we have in our fish and chip shops and we call them Fish Bites or Cod Bites
So i was told to ask Max for a deep fryer. Sam said you’d buy me one. That’s so nice! Thanks!
Wow !! An arabic writing 😍😍 it should be like this sam …. الطباخ الشيف سام what a great gesture thank you sam from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦❤️
I saw that hushpuppy breaded fish commercial from Arby's and immediately thought to suggest it to Sam. But I forgot to. I'm sorry. Glad to see you took it upon yourself to find and do it anyway. 😂😂
Iove it when y'all show footage of yourselves going out and getting the items you're going to make better!
Your food always looks better thanks Sam
Sam, I wish you would make the at home version of Arbys horsey sauce!
These look amazing!! Love when you're in the car with the boys...feels like I'm on a road trip with you guys! 😁 Thanks for another great episode, Sam!
I like the recipe. However, I do a dredge in panko after the wet dredge for extra crispiness. It makes a world of difference.
I love your tartar sauce but I suggest trying a little celery salt in there it is so good
i think this is the second time arbys has had that particular fish. they have had a fish sandwich on multiple occasions i'm ready for the blt to return though lol its on hawaiian bread
please make the buffalo chicken sliders i love the arby’s sliders so i wanna see your recipe 🙌🏼🐐
Fun tip… head to the butcher/fish monger counter at your local Ralph’s/Kroger. You can order the catfish or tilapia out of the case and then have the butcher “chunk it up and fry it”. Comes out looking like the Arby’s version but you can get it in bulk. Great for parties. Takes them about 15 minutes to do so start there and then do the rest of your shopping while they make it.
I absolutely love how you guys go to the "other" places and make there...fast to order, food so much better. I have tried several and they turned out sooooo much better. Thanks sam!!! Love you guys!! Keep up the great work!!
The intro goes HARD
I live in Presque Isle, Maine and every year around Lent, they bring back their fish sandwich. I love that thing. It's crunchy and so freaking delicious. The next time I go to Arby's, I'm going to see if they have the fish and chips on the menu
I feel like you don't do much fish recipes Sam, I'd like to see more of this in the future if possible
Friggin love Arby’s
I'm still mad they got rid of the potato cakes. Those were a classic.😢
During Lent Abby's makes, What I think, is the best fast food fish sammich.
Lots of respect for this video, he praised Arbys for how good it was but pointed out it was greasy and when he made his he didnt say it was better.
Any chance you could do some Keto friendly meals? I love this channel but I'm on a pretty restrictive diet but I'm sure you guys could make something incredible! Regardless, I love you guys! I have the 12 inch cast iron and 7 inch knife and use them every day to cook my meals! Keep up the great work! Also, when is the next Sons of Sam video?
Sam and Sons Y'all Rock Love How Y'all Are For Real With Y'all's Videos I am a very avid crappie fisherman here in the mid south I'm definitely trying your recipe as Always Thank Y'all!👍😊! Sam and Sons ain't no junk here nuttin but good times!💯
As someone that uses the word "y'all" alot, you make me seem like an amateur lol. That's alot of y'all's for one long run on sentence.
@@Largentina. 😊
OMG: By coincidence this morning I took some catfish strips out of my freezer for dinner tonight. I am totally using this recipe. Thanks!
Love the way everything came together. Nice road trip. The fish strips sound delicious! 😎😎
i love the way yours turned out. i like the more battered coatings and not so much the heavy cornmeal. definitely going to try that recipe for tartar sauce!
Definitely it’s just as much the delicious part 🤔
Funny, I stopped at the Arby's drive through and bought the fish strips for lunch. As I sat down to eat when I got home, I checked my CZcams feed and found this video.
I started a drinking game. Every time that Sam forgets the name of these fish strips, I take a shot. I'll be headed to the hospital now to get my stomach pumped
I like this video. Fast and easy to make. I like that hush puppy batter. Might be my go to batter.
Not really sure, but I think that at one time their motto was "ARBYS" "Arbys Roast Beef, Yes Sir"
53 years in the seafood capital of the Gulf Coast and this is the first time I've heard "Greek Yogurt" and "tartar sauce" in the same sentence
Will be trying this soon! Thank you for helping us all out of our comfort zone.
This is the first decent fish I have ever had at an Arby's. I like the batter idea Sam, but I think it reminds me more of the fish grandma used to flour, dip in egg and then roll in seasoned corn meal and pan fry. I may give that a try, too. I love your tartar sauce and will be making more of that. Thanks for putting all the videos up. Keep the ideas coming!
Show Arbys how it should be done Sammy!
Arby’s is the best in the game right now. Best fries (curly), best sandwiches. Little Horsey sauce and life is good.
Their regular fish sandwich is pretty good but it’s seasonal. ❤
Arby's has had fish sandwiches before, but years ago. I still remember laughing at the commercial.
I absolutely love your channel. I have been inspired by your videos to cook way more than I have in the past. I regularly rewatch videos too. I absolutely love potatoes and I’d love to open up a food truck that has many different kinds of potato dishes. Since discovering your channel, I want my food truck even more. It’s too bad I’m broke 😢
Back in the 70's & 80's Red Lobster had the best hush puppies. It was a prepackaged mix, nothing was made from scratch. You would mix it with hot water in a buspan put a lid on it and let it rise. When it was time to cook them you put the mix in a funnel shaped device suspended over a fryer and crank out the right portion of dough into the oil. I can't tell you how many times I got burned from splashing oil.
Now I want to go to Arby’s. 😳
If you guys were to ever do homemade beef n cheedars, kens french dressing with bacon is a great replacement for red ranch sauce.
You nailed my exact feelings on the initial review to include “I can do it better”. Nice Job!
Please more FISH!!! I will be making this. I make a lot of your stuff and its amazing. I have learned so much from you. Thank you .
I’m making this today !!! I have this and the are soooooo good !!! Have a great day guys we love you ❤️
I liked 3 times to make sure it came back. Just one of the many services I provide, Sam...
Definitely going to try this thank you for making that happen
The edit quality and content is fantastic, I hope the algorithm picks you guys up again but if it doesn't for a while I know you guys will be around for when it does!
You are a far better cook than myself but should consider potato starch over flower for extra crispiness, when applicable. I found it doesn't alter the flavor and is an excellent substitute for flower.
The best cooking channel to watch late at night to get hungry for all the meals
The batter results in what looks more like tempura than a hushpuppy. Looks delicious, regardless.
I made this for my family and got the BEST reviews ever!!!
I’m writing my shopping list now after this one! I have a ton of Kokanee fish that I can make with this recipe. Thanks Sam & Co.
Also I like the new STCG package deal ……❤. But I’m out of work right now. 😢 Hopefully by the holidays! 🤞
Nice. I need to try this next week.
Just a simple suggestion for the upcoming hunting season. Maybe a series on venison dishes or some sh!t like that.🤔 Even if you're not a hunting person 😊
If you want battered and fried fish bits there's nothing better than the Dutch made Kibbeling (with original seasoning). Add some remoulade sauce and it's just perfect.
You sure make me laugh Sam!! The shirt is halarious too! I’ve been watching you for years!!
Looks good! Now I need to know how to make British chips to go with them
In Australia these little morsels are called “fish cocktails” and they are magnificent. Hard to find a bad one
My wife and I just went to Arby's today because of that commercial. We tried it and it was pretty good.
Can't wait to try this version!
Hey Sam, big English fan here. I’d love to see your take on a typical English dish, Steak and Ale pie with mash potato😊
would love to see your take on some making beef jerky
Arby's does a great fish sandwich. I think it might just be available during Lent before Easter but I'm not sure. I don't eat fast food often at all LOL! Doesn't almost everyone but pizza places do fish during Lent?
We should all try to eat better! But occasional treats are perfectly fine! 😊
Arby’s mozzarella sticks are the best in the game 🔥
You are correct. 👍
Arby’s is my favorite fast food place, lots of variety, but their basic roast beef and cheese, with their three pepper sauce is my go to. You should try to duplicate their three pepper sauce. I would buy it.
Yum! From New England and now in FL and they do not know how to do fish and chips here!! This is surely the answer! Thanks for another great recipe!!
Yes, I think I'd definitely watch the smoked brisket sandwich video.
These hushpuppies look so good!
thank you for this, but I am wondering how you would make (your interpretation) of traditional English Fish & Chips
I love that Sam knows how to hold a freaking knife! 😊
They looked delicious Sam. Hf on the huspuppy batter. Minus the lemon. 😇✌️
Eating at harpees is eating better???? Your a hoot Sam. ❤❤❤❤❤ you making it yourself is the way to go.
Lol the 11 Herbs & Spices at the end was funny.
Does look effin delicious 😋 😍
❤❤ I wanna give these a try! I have seen alot of reviews on them and people swear they are really good. Now I gotta give them a try and the tarter sauce dip! Curly fry and a large coke ofc! ❤❤ Who doesn't love fish 🐟🥔
I made this, it was amazing. The only thing I did different is use beer instead of milk... Cause I usually make my hushpuppies with beer... 10/10 recommend
Beer batter is the way to go
I LOVE that you made mayo-less tartar sauce!
Can't wait to make some but first I need to get a new deep fryer...Mine finally gave up after about 20 years of use... Stay safe... Have a great day...
Thanks Sam, enjoyed every minute.
And what might that be?
Sam, I love you man. I write and speak Arabic and I just have some feedback one of the shirts you were wearing (4:30). I am sure I am not the only Arabic reader here that is looking at that and shaking their heads haha. When writing Arabic, letters are usually linked together, think of it as cursive, but they always need to stay cursive structurally. This doesn't apply to all letters in the Arabic alphabet, but most do. So the writing on the shirt should read as "الطباخ الشيف سام". And the literal translation for that sentence is "The Cook: Chef Sam" in case you were wondering. Cheers!
Max, I love your work and I need a fryer.
try using cream style corn for the liquid in your hush puppy batter. I'm telling you it's killer.
Arby's reuben is delish. Like the Cod fish not too fishy. I will try it.
Maybe one extra dip in straight cornmeal after the dredge would give the extra crunch??
They use Pollock for their fish, if I am not mistaken. I like Cod myself for fried, battered fish dishes
I trust your Fish Sam. 🔥🐟🤓
You should do checkers/rally’s French fry seasoned chicken strips!!
During Lent, they have the most ridiculously delicious fish sandwich…sometimes, in FL, two for $5.00 😳. Obviously, get the curly fries as your side!
Man Sam I used your recipe for doing cod tacos with your sauce … gleeking .. it was an epic meal even made pico with out cilantro and with jalapeño 👍
