    I really like using either Scuff X or Durapoxy
    Laquer finishes are hard to touch up.
    Cool vid. Keep em coming

      YES 💯 well said! I like the durapoxy for sure, haven't tried the other one, but will try it soon. Always a bummer trying to touch up Laquer...it just looks so good but has horrible ability to touch up, i have learned from the cabinet guys, when it comes to touch ups, just go corner to corner, or edge to edge.. ita really the only way👊 thanks for the comment 🙏

    Tip for you:
    Always run HV ( High volume ) fittings and a large hose when using a HVLP or conventional gun .
    You will notice better performance from your gun.

    Looks great. What size compressor do you use for small projects like this one? I have a 1hp 8 gallon and I was hoping I could use it to paint some cabinet doors in my garage

      oh absolutely 💯, definitely don't see most homeowners trying this out but I try to help where I can! If anything I really feel this helps homeowners understand the amount of work and craftsmanship that goes into what we do. I have had some clients brush their cabinets in their first home, then call us for their next house😊

    Thank you for these videos! I assume that lacquer is oil based? Is that machine rentable? Thinking doing my kitchen cabinets. They’re Maple spice Kraft Maid- If I sand them will I need to prime?

      of course! thank you for the comment 😊 So actually my little tip is if you are just doing a kitchen, I would go to harbor freight and buy a cheap gun, only about 14 dollars, then just connect it to any compressor. Just make sure you fill and drain a couple times so you get out all of the moisture in the tank. If you use a tinted Laquer you only have to sand a little bit to clean and get off any cleaning agents, but you do not need to prime. If you use latex or alkyd you would need to prime! thanks again for the comment, let me know if u have any other questions

      @@SuperHowyalikemenow Depends on where you are located, sherwin Williams Pigmented Laquer from commercial coatings, or a Gemini tinted or Pigmented Laquer would be great. Gemini i think is available throughout the U.S.

    How much of the room did you protect from the paint mist and overspray? It looks like maybe 4 feet into the room and all around the cabinet? How long does it take for the paint mist to settle before removing the plastic?

      @PaintBoss  Před 3 lety +2

      Great question, so depending on product we are shooting and what kind of gun will dictate how much masking we do. in this case it was a cup gun so not a lot of over spray and it was Laquer so dries very fast, but yes I think you are right. usually we like 4ft plastic or 6ft with an airless, and then we like to wait about 20 to 30 minutes for the dust to settle. Thank you so much for the comment, I appreciate it 👍🙏

    That looks like a Harbor Freight HVLP gun?

    • @PaintBoss
      @PaintBoss  Před 3 lety

      Yes sir! I think it is! learned that trick a while ago when using Pigmented Laquer...it does the job and after the job the seals start splitting and I toss it, and go buy another one. Saves a lot of hassle 💪👊
