Losing our 2nd round pick in this draft for tampering with Drew Eubanks last offseason is starting to feel much more significant than it seemed when it happened. We would have had Denver’s 57th pick which I know isn’t a highly valued asset, but draft picks have become more valuable under the new CBA, including 2nd rounders.
The new CBA has that 2nd round pick exception that allows teams to sign 2RP’s to 4 year deals without using cap space or any cap exceptions like the MLE. And teams now have 3 two-way contract slots instead of 2, so it’s easier to find room for those prospects on a roster than it was before.
Those things aren’t of much value to the Suns who are in win-now mode and aren’t interested in developing 2nd round draft prospects, but it would sure be helpful to have that pick as sweetener in a trade package right now, especially now that the Suns can’t aggregate contracts which limits what they can offer teams. Who knows, maybe Matty Tellum could have cooked something up and found a way to leverage that pick to somehow create another avenue for the Suns that they don’t currently have? 🤷‍♂️ Every asset matters
Literally every front office in the league contacts players before they’re allowed to… That’s why so many of them are signed in the first 12 hours of free agency every single year! But the Suns minimum contract signing was what they decided to investigate and crack down on? It was an obvious witch hunt against the organization

I'm hearing the Suns might pick up Kris Dunn to sure up their backcourt and perimeter defense? If that's true Kris Dunn is going to shine because he's excellent at slashing and kicking out to the open shooter's which happen to be 3 of the best ever in the League. Plus his floater and 3 ball are much improved and only going to get better, if he is willing to take the Vet minimum for a season he's surely going to get paid in 25/26 free agency because the Suns system would unlock his full potential as a playmaker 🔥

Give Kris Dunn 25min a game and unlock a defensive weapon on perimeter defense slasher and dependable playmaker on offense he'll easily average 7ast or more a game watch the tape he's good for that with elite shooting around him
