    *is it possible to change the pathetic default Wyze door entry chime sound to something else?* I want a more true alarm sound. Hate the chime.

    I have several Wyze devices and rate them as a 9 you can't beat the price and the app alerts are great.

    Thanks for the review, Lon!
    I just wish I could pair the sensors with my existing ZigBee network and use them directly with HomeAssistant. I don't want another hub, and I don't like how they use a proprietary protocol for these. For now, I'm sticking with Aqara ZigBee sensors.

    I was originally interested in this but the subscription requirement made it a no-go for me. I have about 15 wyze products so I might as well grab some of these.

      You don't have to pay for any subscription unless you want the security company to monitor your home.

    Thanks for sharing. You said you can have multiple hubs connected to your account. Can you set up a contract with the alarm monitoring company with multiple hubs? Anyone know?

    👋 you 😎. Will this version becomes 🎃 after the first 🔋 discharge, same as v1 do?

    How does it work with Home Assistant? I assume it's just Zigbee?

    What type is the new v2 motion sensor? Is it a PIR?

    why does the hub have a speaker if we cannot have it provide us with motion & leak sensor updates?

    Do V2 cibtact sensors work on V1 hubs?

    Very helpful video. Wyze support says this will ONLY work with a subscription. Forum posts say the same. Have you tested the functionality of the Wyze App with the sensors without a subscription?

    • @LonSeidman
      @LonSeidman  Před rokem +1

      Yes - the keypad requires the subscription but the sensors work without. I did not have a subscription for this review.

    • @GilAnspacher
      @GilAnspacher Před rokem

      @@LonSeidman Thanks! On the forums, some people speak of the inability to tune the sensors or even get information from them being disabled, when the subscription is disabled. Was this perhaps a previous approach from Wyze?
      Your video is very helpful with the capabilities of the system. In my case, I don’t need monitoring as I will do that from the app on my phone. And my focus is more on temperature and water.

    If the sensor is shared with family members, can they see events? With camera sharing, family members can not view the playback.

  • @KameraShy

    Shall we presume them that this Wyze infrastructure is proprietary and will not interface with other systems?

    • @LonSeidman
      @LonSeidman  Před 2 lety

      It's compatible with other things but their app is the conduit

  • @shadow7037932

    Ugh. So annoying to not be able to buy the hub by itself. I am very interested in the leak sensor after having a leak in my water heater last year. I don't want to get the hub + motion sensors since I already have a separate system for that.

    • @LonSeidman
      @LonSeidman  Před 2 lety

      From what Wyze has stated supply constraints were driving the availability - hopefully as things ease up it'll be available standalone. This is especially true for scenarios that might require more than one unit.

    I would like it if I can turn off notifications for other family members and keep my on as to not bother everyone that has the app

    Why in the world did they not go with a PoE for Ethernet wired solution?

    Impressive that the sensor worked inside a metal mailbox!

    • @LonSeidman
      @LonSeidman  Před 2 lety

      Yeah I think it was because the transmitter was hitting the base when it opened. I put a motion sensor inside and it didn't get picked up.

    Wyze is unfortunately very much a hit or miss often changing terms at will. For instance their recent change in policy of wyze cam V2 recording.

  • @BaronOfHell666
    @BaronOfHell666 Před 2 lety

    After the god awful v1 sensors I'm not trusting wyze. I'm down to two working sensors out of 8. Now I'm using yolink and shelly sensors.

    Total nightmare today trying to get anything at all my six year old grandson could watch on CZcams. Where are the instructions on how to use CZcams and CZcams Kids? This is not a comment as much as a question.

    The lon guy has one rusty mailbox. Hopefully his neighbors aren't too upset by its ghastly aesthetics. I wouldn't have guessed that the lon guy could tolerate having such an unbecoming mailbox, because he seems like a pretty particular (nearly ocd) type of fellow. I suppose physical postal mail is dying and that must be why the lon guy doesn't maintain his mailbox properly.

    These are cheap....
    Because they are cheap....
    It would be a good product if made with good materials....
    The usb port is crap and failed hub is now useless.
    A temperature sensor had a defective button....
    Very poor quality hardware.... like a use once throw away toy.
