He also was revived in a series of UFO Instant Ramen commercials as a cyborg named Legend, and the last ad that I saw in the series had him explode off the armor to reveal a Judo gi before he suplexes the villain. It's followed by a To Be Continued card, but what had previously been hinted at was confirmed for sure - Legend is the rebuilt Segata Sanshiro.

Segata Sanshiro is also the actor for the very first Kamen Rider
It should be noted that Shiro only did that in a dream sequence; in fact, his commercials are established in a flashback as being a canonical sequel to the Sanshiro commercials, taking place after his sacrifice in the Shinken Yugi one (you know the one), meaning that Segata Sanshiro is canonically dead in those commercials.

Fun fact about the SMT Nocturne clip, the old man is William Knight, a voice actor who's played as many anime characters over the years, including Aramaki from Ghost in the Shell, Danzo from Naruto, Mysterious Old Man from Paranoia Agent, and Dr Tokioka from GunGrave.
I thought that voice sounded familiar! That's a really neat detail.
In case anyone isn't aware of the whole ordeal with Pokemon Live, here's pretty much the gist of it:
One of the promos of this show mentioned that official recorded VHS tapes of show would be distributed at a certain date (or whenever the show stopped touring iirc). But because the show was a commercial flop and was heavily panned by critics, none of the tapes were reportedly sent. The only footage you can find of this show is from one or two recordings on CZcams from the producer of the show himself. Since then, it managed to gather a bit of a cult following these past few years, not just because of how bad the show was and not just because it featured Andrew Rannells (of Book of Mormon fame), but the fact that the official VHS recordings of Pokemon Live are essentially consider Lost Media, sought after even, with Chadtronic even getting to the core of this mystery. No one really knows who owns the tapes.
*EDIT:* Also, some of the props and costumes for the show were recently found in Tivoli Theatre Hamilton in Ontario, Canada.
*TL;DR: The tape recordings of the show are considered Lost Media, which was the catalyst of its cult following.*

Anyone interested in the Sega Saturn guy:
Segata Sanshiro is a mascot created by Sega to advertise Sega Saturn. His name is a pun, with the Ta and Sa in "Sega Sattan Shiro" ("play Sega Saturn") swapped. He's played by Hiroshi Fujioka, who is a fairly popular Japanese actor now mainly known for his role as Kamen Rider #1. Before and after, he was known for playing in martial arts movies as well as being a particularly successful Judo artist. The Sega commercials were kind of an in-joke on his career up until that point. Later commercials he worked on for other companies would then have references to his role at Sega, including a series of UFO Noodle instant ramen commercials where he was a cyborg made from the scraped up remains of Segata Sanshiro after he sacrificed himself to save Sega HQ from an missile launched at them by Sony.

17:49 Cyber Sled was meant to be Namco's debut title on Sega Saturn. As SCE made that deal, it was cancelled and Namco dropped Sega support from 1995 until 1999 with SoulCalibur on Dreamcast.
The thing about SoulCalibur is that it was supposed to be on Playstation, but technical issues forced its cancellation on that system. The Dreamcast had no issues that the Playstation had, hence its release on that system.

He was mainly well known in Japan. It wasn't until the last couple years or so where he was discovered on CZcams by the west.
He was in the Project x Zone game where they made a hilarious reference to his Sakura Wars commercial.

The ironic thing about the Segata Sanshiro ads are that, to me at least, they failed miserably in selling the console itself. But were undeniably successful in making me care about *Sanshiro* himself. I wanted more of him, not the stupid Saturn...
That Japanese Namco guy is exactly why I will miss this segments a bit.
Actually the Saturn did pretty well in Japan, those Segata Sanshiro ads & actually having a decent selection of games to play on it certainly helped. Especially compared to how awful the game line-up was in west.
Saturn did well in Europe and japan. Only in America it flopped unbelievably hard for some reason.
