Any pokemon stream would be cool. I've been playing so much GBA pokémon lately and since it's the anniversary, it'd be cool to see him dive into one he's never played. Either Emerald, Plat, or straight up go for Sword and shield for the hell of it. But at this point it's best to see what's announced on Pokemon day

This whole time I've been listening to commercial chaos at work and I came back just to watch these again, and it was worth it to see this part
FUN FACT: The South Park N64 game was an fps because the publisher (acclaim) snatched up the license for south park really quickly and promised a game by christmas of that year, leaving the devs (iguana) stuck with little time to make a game. So, they ended up using the only game engine they had (which was for turok) for the south park game.

Personally, I think the GBC game is better, with a stronger gameplay balance… Plus Acclaim and Iguana have ended up utilizing the South Park license in more creative ways after the N64 game, most notably Chef's Luv Shack… I can't speak for all the releases of that game though, but I do like the PS1 version.

Did you know that potatoes are part of the nightshade family, which means they can be poisonous under certain circumstances, and is probably why they grow flowers that also look like nightshade. Potatoes even produce a poisonous gas when rotting, which sounds like a more interesting way to mur-- I mean prank someone than bludgeoning them with a potato. Just hide a potato in their bedroom and let nature take its course.

This was some great nostalgic fuel. I was born in 88 so I was the PERFECT age for pokemon. I STILL remember how my brain wrapped around the idea of my own little world with monsters to catch. Luckily my dad was a HUGE gamer-dad and we had everything a kid could want.
Sheeeeit, I remember the Pokemon cartoon coming on at 8 am when I'd be leaving to school. I'd skip school a few days just to watch it, it was the only way.

I am slightly disappointed that the Ren & Stimpy ad (53:40) freeze frames didn't make it into the thumbnail.
Well to be fair, we did have a Pokemon pack at the start, so it likely made sense that Pokemon was going to be the spotlight of the thumbnail, especially since the subtitle 'Pokemon Special' was included.
The “over 200 games” thing: I had one of those kinds of things. It’s mostly just slight variations of Tetris over and over and over, with maybe a couple “different” games like racing, but mostly just Tetris lol

I was the one who sent in the Dragon Quest, Kirby, Parappa, and Katamari commercials. I double checked the videos and they worked fine on my end, I don't know why the syncing issue happened.

12:20 - My favorite thing about these macaroni boxes is the shapes were vaguely the characters mentioned, but most of the time they would be missing pieces. So poor Pikachu would have to go through life without one of his legs, and Squirtle would be missing part of his shell.

I am so glad he watched the jango fett commerical I sent before ending the segment. It was such a good clean commercial, and the fact they intentionally animated and made bloopers for the game was great
So being without power in single-digit weather is awful. The rolling blackouts make it tolerable, but we went 12 hours earlier with no heating, which considering that the insulation is so bad on our front door that snow blew in, this is the worst it's been here in a long time.
I like the cold, I like snow, but when you can refrigerate right outside your refrigerator... in Texas no less... that ain't good.

Nope, board members SEGA of Japan was disgusted by the idea of doing that style of aggressive marketing so they didn't in Japan. (I mean the most famous SEGA advertising is Segata Sanshiro for Saturn, for Mega Drive they weren't attack ads either). Technically some ads referenced Sony and Nintendo but I wouldn't say attacked them.
There was probably more of a level of respect in Japan than in America. I can tell you the Saturn bombed in America, but prospered in Japan, and even outsold the N64 there.
@@mostverticalproductions4808 I would never use the word "prosper" to describe any system that moves 5 million in Japan. It was a success for sure, the best one that SEGA had, but, it only outsold the N64 by a few hundred thousand units, and the N64 (and even moreso the Gamecube) were generally considered failures for Nintendo's standards in Japan. So thats not a great look for the Saturn.

It was kind of a brilliant marketing ploy, because the idea is it was a portable game console disguised as a calculator (the ad we saw for it mentioned that you could fool the teachers into thinking it was for school). The problem is that the entire library of games was interesting for approximately five minutes. The good news is my parents weren't dumb enough to not understand the concept of novelty items. If something that inexpensive had that many games on it, it was probably too good to be true. But they bought it, because it was only $20, and it was an easy way to give me an extra Christmas gift. So why not?
