    I did receive a refund for the Fake Samsung Micro SD Card, so I agreed not to name them. Just be aware, I checked the sellers feedback and several people had reported the user selling fake memory cards. So the moral for me and others is to always check feedback and if someone else mentions a fake memory card, then steer clear of that seller.

      Check to see if the "Made in..." on the package is different than on the back of the microSD. Apparently fake package says "Made in Korea" with the enclosed fake microSD saying "Made in Taiwan".

    So having finally learned some German , I was able to download h2testw software and ran it on a suspect 64GB EVO plus card from eBay.
    Test finished without errors.
    You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
    Writing speed: 18.0 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 31.7 MByte/s
    H2testw v1.4
    Are these good results, because the packaging says write speed of up to 60MB/s and read speed up to 100MB/s
    Is this 18.0MG/s software or hardware limitations ?

    I have a question...
    I just got a Samsung microSD EVO Select with 256GB. Everything matches what you said about it being real, except for one thing... The back says made in Korea... But I had to remove a sticker (which I didn't even notice that it was a sticker until I saw the edge of it.) But on the sticker was all the exact same info that was under it except the sticker said "Made in Philippines". While under it in that exact spot it said on the casing of the Samsung package, it says Made in Korea. I intend to test it tomorrow, I just wanted to let you know that it's passed all of the marks for the test you have set, just not the Korea part. It even says "Adapter made in China and guaranteed for one year" next to the "Made in Korea".
    So could the fakes just be getting better, or are Samsung really sending goods out of Korea now?

  • @Luna9201991
    @Luna9201991 Před 4 lety

    So I purchased a 126 GB Samsung micro SD and some parts of your video point to mine being a fake but other parts point to it being real. The lettering is crisp and centered. The adaptor says Made in China and even has the white samsung logo embossed on the back. The SD card itself says made in phillipines on the back. The only thing that tips me off is that the edges are black. Is it possible that it is just a unit that happened to pass through quality control with black edges or is it for sure fake if a unit has the black? It seems like everything else on it is perfect so I'm hesitant to write it off so quickly.

I called the post office to find out what is going on and they are to be talking to my mail person to see what happen. I live in the country and it's an easy to explain package as my return label came out the size of a sheet of paper. it's huge so i put it in a big padded envelope. so they should remember it.

    Mine has the white edges, the print quality seems good. My package isn't in English yet I got it from an AU seller. I will also try in an actual SD card reader too as I am only getting just under 20mb/s when mine should be hitting 90mb/s and be able to read up to 100mb/s. I am using a cheap SD USB thing so I feel that may be the reason. Going to be doing further tests though. Thanks for the video. It's all kind of pointing to legit..just the speed...Also I'm going to have to wait for 3 hrs as mine is 256GB lol and I'll use the SD adapter that comes with it in my laptop. How much should a 256GB card be reading? Mine says 238GB, which I think seems about right due to other half of it is used for system purposes.

    I'm confused. My mem is made in 'Korea', the adapter is made in China (1 year guarantee for adapter mentioned), punch hole through the card, white edges on the memory card and the bar code says EU (im from the UK). So apparently a lot of the signs indicating authenticity are there but it's made in Korea. Can anyone assure me I don't need to worry about it being unauthentic/original? I got a card off ebay (a 64gb Evo with a 60MB/s write speed and a 100MB/s read speed) - was a bit sceptical at first as it was about half the price of the ones sold in store but I guess curiosity got the better of me and I bought it.... I've done the tests you mentioned and the speed seems to be fine when writing/reading on the computer, however when I use the card in my drone to shoot in 4K in 100mbps (approximately 12-13MB/s), I keep getting errors and the drone will stop recording saying the SD card is too slow.
    Out of all the other things you mentioned, the only thing different from my packaging to what you mentioned is the "Model Code" next to the barcode. Mine has /APC - different from the "official" ones and also different from your fake one being /CN.
    Seeing as this video was made about 2 years ago, no doubt counterfeiters watch videos like this and improve their fakes........ what do you think the chances are that mine is a fake?

    I bought Samsung 32gb (class10) MicroSD memory card similar colour packaging (the fake one you showed) from ebay for £6. Nothing triggerd me to think that it was a fake card apart from your video. The print on the card and packaging looks very clear and accurate to me. Though on the back of the card said Made in Korea and model number ended up with CN as well. When I inserted my card in the slot, it showed 29.4gb available space and I ran the H2testw. Test went very well without any error. Writing speed was 18.1MByet/s and Reading speed 30.0MByet.
    I took the screenshot of the test result but there is no option to upload it here with the comment.
    Do you think its fake?
    N.B: forgot to mention that side of the memory card is also black. NOT WHITE.

    I bought a Samsung EVO 32GB microSD card in a red packet. Had a lot of problems formatting it. Sometimes it formats, but at many other times is says "Unable to Format". I have discarded it. Having seen you video I now realise that it is a fake.The blue packaging version is not sold at most retail stores in my country. Tks for the video.

    Just compare a real write
    ead speed with what written in description on official website. The fake one usually doesn`t provide high r\w speed, since the original one is very close or equal to.

  • @si604
    @si604 Před 6 lety

    well, problem is... there are scamming ebay/amazon sellers who use a fake photo of the card and ship out the fakes so you have no idea until you receive it. The other sign of possible fakeness is price as in.. if its ridiculously low priced.

With my employee discount, Samsung online discount, and Samsung pay points. I got it for $3 and I couldnt be more happier. I benchmarked mone and it did 80mbs

    Wow! I almost made a huge mistake of trying to transfer my file to a fake sd card. I'm so glad I watched this. My boyfriend may have one also and has lots of corrupted files now. Is there anyway to get the files or were they just never written to it? There's one short video I had wanted from it but I'm guessing it's impossible to recover it

    Samsung micros are made in Korea or the Philippines and are packaged in China or sourced to consumer countries. There are fakes out there but don't get everyone all frenzied up about it. Just buy from a reputable dealer and you will be guaranteed the quality product you ordered.

    Great test and a good video.
    Only thing I don't understand is that you are not willing to tell the name of the seller as it is a fraudulent seller.
    You are willing to tip Ebay, etc... Then also make his name public. You gave him a chance to react on this, so it's not that he doesn't know.

A few week ago for the third time, I bought a 32Gb Card and it turned out to be fake as well after my files suddenly dissapear & mysteriously moved themselves to Lost.Dir folder and they all became 32.0Kb in size.
