  • Is there magic outside of Hogwarts? The Chinese boldly answer - yes, offering a couple of thousand fast SSDs for a dozen terabytes with any stickers to choose from. But what lies behind the fake Samsung and Kingston? How to determine that the capacities of such drives are overestimated by an order of magnitude? How to explain to AliExpress correctly that Xiaomi and WD never released these SSDs? We tell the whole ins and outs of Chinese rice and flash.

It's sad to see what Mikael tells us, that there isn't any good Software which could unveil the real capacity of a fake SSD, because I"ve known that there's a software imbedded in the device which simmulates those terabytes, cheating any and every benching software, which check it as a good and faithful device.
Then he says that we could find a Script or a Link in the Description that could do the job, but I couldn't find that. I went to his Profile, but there's nothing about that there too. Does anybody know something about that?

i saw one of those "factories" in China few years ago. A friend working there said that apparently only about 10-30% of customers ask for a refund and since they are selling garbage(bought from major manufacturers the cheapest (grade c or worse = garbage) in wholesale) they would still make profit even if 90% of customers had to be refunded. biggest problem is that platforms(like ali mentioned in this video) keep shutting them down and they have to keep reopening new sellers accounts. There is a minimal risk of being busted by authorities but from his experience hes only ever heard of a few of these busts/raids in over a dozen years. So unless something changes i would not expect this problem to go away anytime soon - so just use your common sense(too good to be true rule) and make sure to buy wherever you can ask for a refund from a platform itself and not only from a seller(they might be gone by then with new name/account open)

Thank you for sharing the video with the helpful information. Unfortunately, I fell victim to a scam last year when I purchased a solid-state drive that was supposed to be 1 TB. After installing it, my computer kept crashing, and I initially thought it was a software problem. However, after some time, I realized that the SSD was the root cause of the problem. I replaced it with a genuine SSD, and my computer has been working smoothly ever since.

I was going to buy a suspicious 1tb sata ssd on Ebay from a Chinese seller and I asked the seller if it was fake and he straight up told me they were. Some sellers will only tell you the truth if you pry for it, and even then they speak in a sort of riddle to avoid directly answering the question but they answer it non the less.

I haven't tried gaming on it, but I installed Linux Mint LMDE and Plex on it and i swear it's doing a better job than the i5-3450 with Quadro P620 it'll be replacing when streaming 4K videos on Plex. It's not a huge upgrade, but the power draw should be considerably less.

Bought about a month apart. Two totally different beasts. And the retail prices state it loud and clear. ;-)
My point being that both are/were absolutely excellent products on their own niches. Recommended for sure. The GTR in particular, show excellent finishing and really "feel" as an high quality product.

Always contact the seller first. Tell them you are going to use h2testw software to test speed and capacity and ask them if it's fake you will get a refund without returning item. If you get a clear response agreeing they will refund without return then its most likely ok. If they give polite but not agreeing response like don't worry friend is good. Then it's fake.

I have to say it about that.. you bouth that gpu and it died after 1 month of use sadly and is kinda unlucky so , I bough a GTX 1660S for 150$ from aliexpress in april this year and after 4-5 months it works perfectly fine (before changing the termal paste and termal pads after one month of use because it starts heating to much [80*C] ) so...what I mean is that they are not all fake is just random luck and you have to be carefull at what you want to buy

So I made the mistake of buying a 2T SSD for 12.00 or so. When I got the drive it looked nice and actually reported to windows as a 2T SSD. However when I tried to copy 200gb of music files to it it was very slow 1-5 mb or even slower. I tried a quick reformat of the drive and this seemed to work but I had the same issue. I then tried a deep format. This whipped out the drive completely and windows no longer could see it. Even using disk manager.
so I opened a dispute with the aliexpress. The seller or Ali sent me a return label with shipping paid. they said this was a one time discount of 7.99. I tried to talk to the seller but that portion of their site is under construction. So I packaged the drive up and put the label on it. It's going back to New Jersey. We will see if I ever get a refund. Unfortunately I ordered two 2TB flash sticks for 5.00/each that have yet to arrive. I'm sure they will have similar issues. I've purchased some fun stuff from Aliexpress but you have to be careful

  •  Před 5 měsíci

dude your killing me, i've need a 300g-320g ssd and the only one i can find that isn't hundreds of dollars is the netac, even though i had never heard of the brand after day of searching i finally had talked myself into buying the natec ssd but now after watching your videos on ssd's i'm back to square one, i saved $70 but still don't have a 300g ssd, one company wants over $700 for an intel 300g ssd, i'm not getting the the deal is with 300g ssd's, i've been running a $60 team group 256g ssd for over a year without a problem and to get a 512 isn't much more so why are 300's so expensive and rare.............

I got a 4TB nvme on Black Friday for 170. That’s a crazy good deal. Watch prices for weeks prior to purchase, they vary.

Assume everything you buy on aliexpress ...temu etc is questionable and dont pay large amounts as noonebis going to ship back to china...that said i did get allot of cool stuff on temu ...that which would sell for dollars more on amazon. Its how much risk your willing to take.High priced items only buy from vendor with reasonable return policy

Of course these are fake, What did you expect for the price? I have never had a problem with AliExpress regarding refunds. You do need to supply proof of item is not as described or defective, including photos, screenshots etc. I always use paypal as well for backup. So not only do you get your money back, You usually get to keep the item as well.
