In 1966 and 1967 I used to drive 30 miles each from Hitchin to Cambridge every day in my Cortina GT. My company on those journeys was always 'Big L'. Wonderful days and I remember it like it was yesterday. I also remember going out from my office to the car to hear the sad closing down.

Radio London was de beste dat er ooit geweest is en dat altijd zal zijn.
Nothing like it before or since -The Very Best Radio Station Ever !!
Simply the best - the very best. Tony Windsor - what a voice ~ what a presenter R.I.P.
The impact of Radio London is almost impossible to describe. Nothing like it before or since

I wonder if we are related. My uncle Val Valentine was manager of the Hitchin Football Club in the mid 60's
@@Markgcr I don't think so, but you never know.
I wonder how many Valentine's there are in Hitchin. My grandmothers name was Robinson. I worked for REL in Hitchin during the 80's.
Wonderful radio London, Whoopie!
Big L ........the best then and never beaten . Great memories !
Tony Windsor (T W ) He was a great DJ
Never be another Radio Station like it.
Kenny Everett was so innovative. Entertaining and light years ahead anything else on British radio.
I did my homework and studied for GCE O" Levels with Big L playing on my Decca transistor radio.

It didn't matter who was presenting So long as it was Big L Fond memories of my youth driving down to Brighton with my Mom & Dad
In those days the off shore radio broadcasters did not need a science degree they just played the music that millions of people wanted to hear.
@@monaghan6853 too right, the kids then loved it
Timeless memories 😆
