There’s no hiding Skyrim with that walking animation
They def gonna replace that nobody uses vanilla animations anymore 😂
That good old ''my asshole ate a brick'' walk.
And the ragdoll physics. Now, I wonder if they still apply when you die in that mod lol.
This is what gets me, you can mod Skyrim all you like, all I see is Skyrim.
the world moves and stay in place lol
Finally
Skyrim with Guns
Fallout 4?
@@spacepirate9882 that's bows with gun skins
@@luckydev3911 Nah that's fallout 3
came here just to type it
adam's a legend
What's next? Starfield with gameplay?
The mind blowing thing for me is the way they manage to implement proper firearm animations. Weapon type animation in Skyrim has always been a big barrier modders couldn't overcome, that was why guns were added, they're all categorized as crossbows, using crossbow animation set. Now this is impressive..... even have reloading animations.
This has been a solvable problem since DAR/OAR and NEMESIS. We've had fully custom animations in first and 3rd person for combat and world interaction for at least 3 years now.
the animation problem has been overcome, gun mods are just rare as is and people prefer immersion, I think the main gun animation mods are paywalled behind patreon modders anyway
you're not up to date with the trend
I seem to recognize some of the weapon animations from Fallout NV and 3 maybe they were ported to skyrim idk but they seem really alike
@@badbadthingss Yeah melee combat mods are crazy now. Some legit DMC shit.
Paarthurnax is gonna freak tf out when he gets back lmfao
Dovahkiin shout and shoot
Wrong! He will surely have foreseen this in his infinite wisdom.
You're right. When he shows up, he's gonna scream "IT'S A ME! PAARTHURNAX!"
they could use one of the Fallout engines but no, they chose Skyrim. i think just to flex that they could so and i approve.
I think it is more likely because there are lots of modding tools available for Skyrim like custom animations that never got ported to the other games.
Fallout uses same engine?
it's the same engine...
Yeah the mod's developer says it's a combination of the existing assets fitting better with the goal of the project, stability, and gameplay features supported by the mod tools. They were primarily a fallout modder prior to this project so I don't imagine they chose Skyrim to make their life harder.
IIRC it's mainly because Skyrim's melee combat system is more fleshed out and because the game supports spells right out of the box. The spell system was yanked out in Fallout 4 for the most part.
I used to be a vampire like you, until I took a stake to the heart.
he fuckin dead then
@@ananyosaha-ee6yl Not, really in V:TM a stake in the heart does not kill them instead it's only paralyze them
Let me guess, somebody stole your juice drink.
@@ananyosaha-ee6yl nah, just paralyzed until someone takes it out, might die of the vitae deprevation though....
Underrated
IT makes perfect sense to use Skyrims engine, it's well known in the modding community which means it's easier to get help when you need it and all the information you need is right there.
It also is bult specifically for RPGs, likely meaning that not all the systems have to be remade from scratch, just tweaked to fit the game.
The OG game was spaghetti code even back when it launched, must be a nightmare to work on it now.
Smart choice.
@@maboilaurence8227 Believe it or not, its probably one of the easiest engines to get started with other than the Source engine.
If you need to make modifications to the engine for any reason though, good luck.
And that it already had a 3rd and 1st person view
@@maboilaurence8227 to be fair there are many people who have patched a lot of that that they could've just implemented into their mod

Incomprehensible comments with so many likes baffle me
@@cynicalia The sheer number of games where your gun just floats in front of you. Hello?
The lighting in the tavern at 7:38 is set up so incredibly well, it looks cozy and delightful.
That's a pretty normal look for Skyrim with any sort of lighting mod, which the mod author is definitely using, likely a custom version.
Reminds me of Oblivion
Holy bawls that looks amazing! The people working on this project should be very proud of themselves for this level of black magic
Thanks for the compliment😊.
In fact, this is not one project, but two different projects (mods).
Galejro - develops a separate VtMR mod
Decline Down - (that is, me) - is developing a "Tamriel Gunslingers mod" for firearms that are used in VtMR.
www.youtube.com/@declinedown5193/videos
Each of these projects operates independently of each other.
Any fan made V:TM content is enough to get me immediately interested
Dam right, Im down for any V:TM
Still playing VTMB to this day, anything WoD i'm up for
@@Grandmaster-Kush Hell yeah. I run a Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition game every sunday. Awesome system, awesome setting
The fact that the gunplay looks better than even Fallout 3 is wild. Modders seem to understand the engine better than Bethesda does.
It's not about the engine, it's about the animations. You can install a bunch of modern cod gun animations on fallout 3 and it'll look great.
The gunplay is from a third party mod that the project lead has early access too. It isn't available to the public or the rest of the team yet but its made by a very talented author called DeclineDown you can find his channel on youtube to see more of the mod. Its been in the works for ages.
skyrim uses the creation kit engine, fallout 3 uses the gambryo engine, two entirely different engines
@@BroPanth the engine Skyrim uses is just a more advanced version of fallout 3s, they’ve been using the same engine since the 90s and just update various parts as they need to. A lot of the engine is the same between fallout 3 and Skyrim. The Creation Engine is a lot of the Gambryo Engine, even Starfield likely has code left over from Gambryo.
@@1337Skrjabinn it's not that simple, by default fallout 3/NV only support dozen of animations with limit hard coded to the game, all of recent animation mods only possible by released of xNVSE plugin.
this project run on skyrim of creation engine that doesn't even support function for firearms, most gun mods for skyrim pretty much been a reskin staff or crossbow.
Skyrims creation engine is basically a dev kit and I’m here for it.
see you guys 20 years later when the mod is released
They have an extremely good view model sense.. like better than most AAA, and man does that matter when it feels like you're actually holding the guns, especially pistols for some reason that always seem to get held so close the slide should poke your eyeball out.. this is really cool, the bloodlines too that we almost never got but might get through this.
Finally a mod that's not just skyrim but more. Last time one mod like that came out was Enderal back in 2016.
Every day I wish SureAI would release another "game"/total conversion mod for Skyrim like Enderal! I know they're all a mix of busy on paying projects and not particularly interested in working within Skyrim's limitations again, but even just the music from Enderal has stuck with me even more thoroughly than Skyrim's own, on top of everything else that makes it an incredible project that I think every Skyrim fan ought to try!
This is really impressive!! The atmosphere is thick
drippin'
I'm assuming that you never played VtM:R because it was set both during the crusades and the modern world. Also looks like they're using VtM:Bloodlines as a reference point as it was the only FPS VtM game. Honestly this looks freaking awesome, thanks for showing this off to the masses!
This isn't Bloodlines. That takes place in Santa Monica and doesn't switch time periods. This has multiple time periods and locations.
@@ntolman but the style is like bloodlines.
Even parts of the UI are basically the same.
@@poppers7317 Yeah so? It isn't Bloodlines. They used a similar UI because that makes the most sense for an FPS.
@@ntolman you're right, it's not Bloodlines. Bloodlines is way more stylish in comparison.
Yeah, they're definitely using Bloodlines as a reference for the whole police system, since Redemption didn't have that at all. Guards in Redemption would attack on sight if they saw you feeding, etc, and would be quickly killed by your coterie. If I'm remembering rightly, they'd also just respawn whenever you left the area and returned. There was also no way to escape them once they truned hostile without leaving the area or getting rid of them. Also no stealth, and feeding even remotely near them would turn them hostile.
That ragdoll animation is unmistakably Skyrim lol, interesting mod for sure
My guess is that there are so many systems built into skyrim, that could transfer over to this game, that they figured it would be simpler than having to recreate the everything from scratch. That I would bet that the author of this mod has some experience working with creation kit and figured they could get it done. Things like the crime system, and a bunch of frameworks are already built in. Kinda a 500 IQ idea.
I think so ! It looks great !
Defo! Looks like they simply reskinned Magicka into Vitae and maybe added some sort of damage magicka over time effect to make it look like you're growing more and more hungry. Why try to reinvent the wheel and all that? They have a fully functioning toolkit built for RPGs, so there's really no need to try to build all the systems from scratch in another engine.
Remember this being announced and it looks like they've made a lot of good progress. I'm seriously hyped for this mod so here's hoping it delivers.
It looks like this mod team should have been tasked with bloodlines 2
You know, I looked at literal seconds of this video and though "huh that reminds me of Vampire The Masquerade".... How did my brain even do that, I've played the first game for like an hour.
Edit: Specifically that 8 second mark, that just gives me the vibe.
Im convinced at this point that if someone makes a game making game where you can make games like this inside a game... itd be the biggest thing since computers.
That's what Playstation's "Dreams" is, I'm surprised that doesn't get more coverage. People have made some crazy stuff..
U mean roblox
@@mikeyblaze kinda yea but a far more advanced version. like it would be the pre stone age version but on the right path.
@@ZenMunk so you mean fortnite creative
@@AmishGhosty thats more of a import file simulator rather than an actual game
Seems very reasonable to me, to build that game in the engine of Skyrim. The engine perfectly fits the scope of the project.
Amazing Ill be on the lookout for this whenever it gets released.
What's sad is this ridiculous mod will probably be better than anything modern Bethesda is even capable of creating today...
Or any modern VTM game for that matter
Thankfully, Nintendo doesn't own Vampire.
What an interesting idea. The footage is definitely pretty awesome 👍👌
Had a playtest of this mod back in 2022, and it's really impressive to see how far it's come.
Loved this video - excellent analysis of what this team has acheived!
My brother would play Vampire the Masquerade tabletop roleplay with his theater friends when I was younger. I never played the tabletop roleplay, and never engaged in Dungeon and Dragon type play in real life, but I owned a few of the rule books and the lore and idea of the game always enticed me. I never had real life friend that were nerdy enough to role play with me but the maker of the games (Whitewolf I think) had chat rooms with Mods where you could make a character and engage in whitelisted role play. It was fun for a young introvert like myself. When Vampire the Masquerade came out in game form, it was one my favorite games of all time. I've never met anyone that has liked it like myself. Everyone likes CoD or Madden or Rocket Legue or Apex, but nobody I've met that's a gamer ever played Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. It still has a good place in my heart from when I was a young kid playing on PC. That and the game Postal.
Hah. The placeholder vending machine from the Aether Suite. That was neat to see
Modders really wanted a full Dawnguard game, so they made one.
Wow, this is actually a really thorough deep dive into this project. I can tell you really did become obsessed!
I am so glad this is getting more coverage
8:16 aged like milk 😭
This... is Skyrim? Holy moley
Dude this looks amazing with the gunplay and everything
This is cool. Thanks for making videos on cool projects like this.
I’ve been watching you since bf4 and since then. Keep it up man! 💪🏻💪🏻
This will probably be better than the new vampire masquerade game haha!
100% lmao!
I've used a ton of modlists, but this mod is BY FAR the most impressive thing i've seen so far
Holy cow! Let's hope they pull this off.
I've felt that Vampire / World of Darkness / Chronicles of Darkness is a cursed property. It's currently split up into two distinct variations (World/Chronicles) and the older game is also concurrently split a bit more as there isn't really a flagship edition among the fanbase. Also, the companies that have held the rights to the TTRPG have been... well, it's been interesting. And despite having a fantastic IP, it's often been handled quite poorly. I really think that it should have a bigger share of the market but for terrible handling of visibility and accessibility and marketing.
The video games have likewise had a bit of a cursed existence. I was barely aware of _Redemption_ but had played _Bloodlines_ back in the day. Buggy as hell, sometimes to the point of being almost unplayable. And yet, still such an engaging game that you just want to power through the bugs. Genuinely one of the best RP video game experiences I've had -- there have been some better ones here and there, but it's certainly still solidly in the top 5. Since then there have been other games... many of which are just not very good. Swan Song, a recent Vampire game, was pretty awful -- one of the worst-controlling games I've played since the PS1 era where they were still figuring out how a game in 3D should feel to play and just not that engaging. There was a Werewold the Apocalypse game that was mostly a beat'em up trying to pass itself off as deeper narrative adventure in the style of the current Playstation trend of games. Also a couple pretty decent visual novel games on switch. Heart of the Forest being the one that made me think "hey, there's more to this visual novels than them just being dating sims or for being pervy to cartoon women." And two Vampire ones that were pretty decent as well. There's also a battle royale vampire game that completely tosses out the primary themes and draw of Vampire for just being Overwatch but dark.
Whenever it releases, this mod will apparently be the best Vampire the Masquerade game in a couple decades. And it's a Skyrim mod.
100% agree with you. Really says a lot when the best, most recent, VTM game I've played has been a text game on Steam (Night Road). Redemption was more like Diablo (long dungeons with nothing but fighting and looting) than anything else, but it did have a nice story and characters, imo. Also, back in the day, it had a multiplayer mode that let you run your own chronicles with friends on the internet.
This is why I still love Skyrim after all these years. No other game since has managed to capture the ability to tailored so closely to whatever you the player wants.
UE5: Look how shiny i can make everything!
Skyrim: Why would i want shiny? Heres some dense fog
Fog makes me feel warm and fuzzy 😊
Skyrim must have the biggest modding community and by consequent they have alot of tools to mod, its no surprise they choose skyrim for this project. thx for the video!
VTM:R and VTM:B Are only related to each other in license and not part of a continuous 'series', as you describe. Both were developed by different teams independent of each other.
Skyrim modding is getting out of hand. Haha this is awesome. Skyrim is essentially a development platform.
Bethesda is owned by Microsoft, Activision is owned by Microsoft... Soooo maybe this could be bought and used?
Nah it’s a mod. Also it’s impressive but not enough to sell to the public for a big price tag.
Thanks for bringing this mod to my attention!
Honestly this is stunning! I had no clue about it either, but have been waiting patiently for VtMB2 to get closer to release, but i dont have high hopes for that anymore.
This looks awesome, can’t wait to never play it
Vampire the Masquerade is a ruleset and a universe at the same time, not 'series' per say. It would be a bit like calling Knights of the Old Republic of the same 'Star Wars series' as Jedi Fallen Order. Redemption is a linear party RPG with no character creation and voiced protagonist. Redemption doubled as a gamemaster toolset that people could create adventures in (Neverwinter Nights 1 did a similar thing with DnD), but unfortunately that aspect didn't take off at the time.
Bloodlines is single character RPG with some immersive sim elements. Non-voiced protagonist, but does have character creation.
Plot progression is different type, freedom is different, player agency is different, locations are vastly different, gameplay is different. Both games have as much in common as my Star Wars example.
Regarding this mod, there is quite an obvious oddity right from the getgo, which is that it kind of blends Redemption and Bloodlines by discarding party members and allowing for some more freeform gameplay. I assume the locations are from Redemption game, as well as the protagonist Christof and i did see some familiar npc names. Though it would be interesting to know whether this has all 4 locations from the original, because that would elevate 'a lot of work' to 'why are you doing this to yourself' level. You can barely reuse any of the assetts for each location.
LMAO.....can I get the WoDsplaining 1st section in an abridged form, and add another 140 words to your 2nd section of mod pondering . Kthnx
This is the best looking Skyrim total conversion mod that I've ever seen! Wow. I can't wait to see more of this project 😍
seeing the spinning death animation play when someone is shot. yep, its still skyrim
You see those Kindred from Bannu Hakim? Curved swords. Curved. Swords.
omg if this is skyrim SE, i cant wait to see if it'll work in skyrim vr. thatd be insane to be able to play this in vr
This just shows how far technology and passion for the mod goes.
Skyrim continues to amaze me
That is pretty dang sweet. I loved the OG game, looking forward to this one.
before you even said vampire the masquerade i was literally typing it the look of it immediately screams it i love it
Bro this is so awesome I am in awe
This is gorgeous I have been playing all the editions of the WOD universe since 1994
Ambitious project! Looks very cool 😎
I will say that you also have examples of more modern stuff for the CE engine from Fallout and Skyrim and Fallout together have such a back and forth compatibility, tis crazy.
its amazing what people with a passion for something can do.
As a fan of both series, this is awesome as hell
This is awesome! Reminds me of VTM Bloodlines. I loved that game!
that third person walking animation gave it away immediately that it's Skyrim. just stared at it for so long it jumps out lol.
This is really impressive, it's the Vampire game that I always wanted to play. I look forward to it.
Looks Great,if you didnt mension it was a skyrim mod i would have thought its an early concept gameplay for vampire redemption remake
i didnt know i needed this so much.
OH MY GODI LOVED VTM REDEMPTION SO MUCH THIS IS SO HYPE
the VTM REDEMPTION fanbase is so small , i'm so happy to see this happening , and this game getting some attention
I am shocked. Been a fan of VTM series for well over 20 years now. Modders are truly amazing. I really want to play this!!!!!!!!!!!!
The spinning death animation, yep, that Skyrim no doubt
I hope to God someone adds VR support for this, the fact the gun animations looks soooo good man
man i’ve been waiting for the masquerade 2 to come out, hopefully i can play this before then
This is insane! People should talk about this more, so this guys get the recognition they deserve!
I've played Bloodlines a ton of times, but I've never played any of the others. This mod looks fabulous, and I'm eager to try it, when it releases. As to the argument of "impacting sales," maybe they could configure it so that you have to have the original game, even if you're not actually using the assets.
This is another one of the many impressive modifications for Skyrim I have ever seen, who even manage the skill and time at the same time to create something like this... SICK 11/10 🔥
This looks amazing! I only know VtM from friends who LARPed it, but vampires are cool and I'm always interested in any project based on Skyrim's engine and mechanics. I know some of the aesthetics are a bit dated now, but Skyrim is such an easy game to figure out and navigate when it comes to game setup menus, inventory, interacting with the world around you, and understanding your active perks and effects, it makes me wish more games operated in a similar manner. It might not work so well for creating an experience like the Souls games, where you need precise reactions to counter different enemy attack patterns, but those aren't the types of games I personally enjoy playing anyways (although I love watching others play them!).
The impact of game sales or the original from zero to...greater than is probably going to be welcomed.
Reminds me of the Kingdom of Arda (Bannerlord mod) it's been in a development for many years now and I'm patiently waiting for it.
Ah, Galejro. I remember being really impressed by his original Age of Airships mod. Truly, a very capable modder.
This is actually insane!
This looks beautiful. I want this so bad!
Never really heard of the original game but conversions like this are AWESOME
Haven’t played it either but apparently it’s a dope immersive sim like Deus Ex or Prey :3
Highly recommend getting bloodlines for like no money at all and firing it up, you might have to get the unofficial patch though game is a true RPG through and through.
@@Crazybanana-gw7in Nah, that's V:TM Bloodlines. This is based off V:TM Redemption, which is a CRPG. I really like Redemption for its story and setting, but the gameplay's pretty rough and Bloodlines is generally agreed to be the better game.
@@Crazybanana-gw7in Wrong game. This mod is a recreation of Redemption, a party based RPG that has more in common with something like Diablo than Deus Ex (go through long dungeons fighting lots of enemies, get loot, etc). Had a really nice story and some fun characters, though. Preferred the story aspect of Redemption far more than Bloodlines.
The fact that this looks so well, and adds hope that even bloodlines and further custom masquerade content can be added excites the hell outta me. Specially with bloodlines 2 looking like it’ll be such a let down if it ever releases at all.
Been following this one for a bit, what they have done is nothing short of impressive. Looking forward to this as a fan of the original release.
that looks impressive will have to give it a playthrough when its released. mods adding to skyrim are normally janky but that looked really smooth i hope the assets get released standalone, id love the vampire mechanics in my normal Skyrim playthrough. id probably start a new playthrough as an evil character just for that
Im so excited if this actually goes through
wait this is actually fricken sick
The difference from that early alpha footage to what they have now is amazing.
The Aneska tune from the original redemption is still one of the most beautifully composed tunes in video games imo.
Definitely! I listen to it and the main menu theme frequently.
-What engine do you use for your game?
-Skyrim
-What?
-Yes
Another reason to use Skyrim's engine is that a lot of dependent features, such as quests and AI routines are already included in the engine. So a developer could reuse a lot of core features without having to roll out their own.
You broke my brain for a minute with that intro. You had the years backwards for when the engine/game came out. The brain does wacky things
One of my favourite games being made to remake my FAVOURITE game? I wasn't expecting this, awesome!
