Still forgot one, and it is exclusive to DW2. Wei's theme will have an English voice actor say ''Their stories, their legends are about too begin'' instead of Japanese.

Holy shit the drums in Cry for Wind. Been ages since i've played 4 though, but they're so meaty and at the forefront. Very nice.
That said Thousand Suns all the way, either version.
Power and Glory from DW2 with the English narrator was the best version imo.
The last one also plays in the Hypothetical Chibi battle of Wei. Along with the final Hypothetical final battle of Jin.

Dynasty warriors 2 the most realistic one, also the best cutscenes ,best soundtrack, best enemy strength.

@Sima Yi Actually more like Battle Arena Toshinden or Soul Blade/Edge "rip off". Although, barring Lu Bu or any other DW character making an appearance as a guest characters in either SC6 or Samurai Shodown we'll probably never see those characters again in that genre again. Not unless they try to make another weapon based fighter again to compete against Soul Calibur or Samurai Showdown, which seems less likely than a revival of Battle Arena Toshinden at this time...
Both versions of Thousand Suns and Capricious Wind are the best Chibi OSTs by default
Capricious Wind is just the best, it incorporates all of the kingdoms themes.
To be fair though, EVERY Chi Bi soundtrack is really good.
3 will always be the best DW game ever made.

LU LU DW 3 objectively better in every regard in comparison to 2.
Thousand sun's riff with the whiney guitar while you cut through swaths of enemies is supreme
Power and Glory ver. 1 and Divine Wind are my favorites. I liked Divine Wind so much because you can kill so many Wei Soldiers.
Ahh using Capricious Wind as BGM for DW8 is masterpiece

It may be because of nostalgia since DW4 was my entrance to the series, but Cry for Wind is definitely my favorite

Using Thousand suns for Wu and hypothetical story is a great idea
it's fits each other
when Huang Gai reach his boat and burns Cao Cao Army's ship then this music plays marks the beginning of victory for Sun Quan army with successful strategy and indirectly raises the player's morale
For DW8 in Wei's Hypothetical story in Chi Bi this music starts from beginning of battle because their new strategist Xu Shu can predict what Sun Army tactics so they prepared well and can gain victory without burns their ship
Cry For Wind is a bit slow to build up but that solo is fucking divine.
DW6 Version is the best!
Persistent fellows is DW epitomised.
Finish them Off is so underrated. They should have included this song in DW8XL -_-
Though saying that If Thousand Suns is a really close second.

Tommy Nir Agreed, especially since it and the entire battle is pretty much one huge reward for setting everything up right and basically a massive parade of Wei's finest... I also think it's kind of awesome that this is a reprise of the DW7 Wu Chi Bi theme, only this time it plays for Wei. In other words: "Your leaders are strong, your warriors are brave, your strategies are smart - but even even though the wind may sing your tune, Wei will always be stronger, braver, and smarter."

cant decide between dw 7 / dw 8 thousand suns
7's Thousands Suns was better than 8's version, it made Shu and Wu feel like they're done for until the fire attack was a success plus it made Huang Gai 10x more bad ass IMO

bingleton It kinda like both, but it depends who you are playing. When I played the Jin Hypothetical on dw8 i liked it because it fits the stage very well. But from dw7 from a Wu standpoint, it fits the stage so well because its like their time of attack.
Blazing Angel Dw7's sounds like a remix of Dw8's, instead of the other way around.

I think the voice playing in the background is backwards...and it is a nurse paging a doctor in a hospital. I'm playing the song on Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires, and the voice can be heard saying "Doctor (Name), you're needed to the main lobby."

4/10 DW4: Nice beat, but a bit too slow(doesn't really suit the intense battle)

8/10 DW5 (Wei): Quick beat, good drums
9/10 DW6: Speedy, but less intense than others
8/10 DW7 (Wu): Slightly slower than DW6, yet epic
7/10 DW7 (Wei): Sometimes slow and sometimes fast, resembles an actual withdrawal
