My bestie won the first unconventional materials challenge. I remember being so jazzed about it and thinking that finally, there would be a reality show that was just about creative people being creative, without a bunch of producer-manufactured drama. Yeah, well... cut to a few weeks later...

You're onto something here. I was thinking maybe I could the same thing with all the fabric scraps I've got in my closest. They're all black and navy blues, so it could look good. Hhhmmmm

i could see that coat actually work when done in leather/faux leather, but using the sam technique
I think you're onto something here. Maybe pare it back with the flourishes and just keep it as a coat? I do have many scraps. You've got me thinking now.

You pulled out all stops by fabricating your own textile. That move generally works. I was really hoping the judges would see your vision. Your confidence should have at least accounted for something. You can always apply for Making The Cut.
I just finished watching the latest season (3). I should see if there's another one being planned. The contestants are international so perhaps I could get in.

now that I know a bit more about using a sewing machine and how hard sewing regular fabric is, these episodes of PR are even more impressive. I felt your pain trying to turn it right sides out
What a greatly timed RuPaul reference. Haha. Also, the short timelines that they to work on the PR show and that they're pumping out the episodes back to back while they are filming. Truly impressive indeed. Hope you're having fun sewing.
