    When I first bought my Fast Eddie XL, I did exactly what you said, solid info that I didn’t think of...just to take it one step further, I wanted to say that I did take a two foot level and leveled the lines, this makes it easier to line up the pin with the tape and make both level so you don’t torque bow and that the bow sight level is perfect, especially out to 60. Your channel is the best!!! 👍🇺🇸🏹🦌🙏

    You are the only guy that I've heard that says to move your sight and not your arrow rest. I've been saying it for years,if my bow makes a clean bullet hole there is no way in hell I'm moving my arrow rest. Most guys are shooting at three yards and then shooting back from there. That has never made any sense to me. At three yards an eighth inch off could make all the difference in the world and its be hard to see. I agree with your method.

  • @Patriot36
    @Patriot36 Před rokem

    5:15 Assuming a properly tuned rig and no wind, 1/2" left @ 20yds doubles for each time the distance is doubled, or 1" @ 40yds... not "4 or 5 inches @ 40 or 50." It's just simply geometry.

  • @jakeharper6557
    @jakeharper6557 Před 5 lety +8

    Could also be due to not holding bow level. Off level results in the arrow being left or right from the start. 2nd axis leveling and using the bubble level should help arrows be more consistent from a left to tight perspective. . .

    Do you think people might not be using the sight level on their long shots and using it on their short shots. Slight angle changes make impact different at distance.

  • @pickin4you
    @pickin4you Před 5 lety +1

    With multi pin sights, its more than likely that the sight was not set up properly and level with the bow, causing a cant that you cannot see, but the pins will be at a slight angle. The bow need to be in a bow vise, and the riser right where the sight will be attached , leveled, then attach the sight, and level each axis. Just another huge thing that most archers fail to do when putting their sights on.
    You also need to understand, that in the grand scheme of things, not many people can shoot a single arrow and be dead center. Except for highly practiced spot shooters. So they need to shoot 5 arrows and see there most of them group, not just one arrow. And where I am from, we go a little more precise than tape. We hang a string with a weight at the bottom, meaning it will always be level, and we call it string tuning. As long as the arrows are landing on one side or the other of that sting, then you are good to go.

    • @InsideOutPrecision
      @InsideOutPrecision  Před 5 lety

      I agree, most people don't take the time or don't know how to properly level a sight to the bow. This video was assuming the bow is tuned and the sight is level.

    What is yalls take on this, replaced my string and completely redid my set up. New d loop, new kisser button, new peep sight. Got it shooting bullets through paper but realized the arrow was very knock high on the string, maybe half an inch higher than the rest so the arrow is pointing down in the rest. I thought originally it was a timing issue but drew the bow back and checked and both stops hit the cables exactly the same time. Im not sure what the issue is, arrow spine stiffness?

  • @Ari--d
    @Ari--d Před 3 lety

    you can use duct tape just aim at the spot where the tape ends on the left or right instead of the tape itself

  • @billstiger2359
    @billstiger2359 Před 5 lety +5

    Same as walk-Back tuning, but ensure you use your 20-yard pin for all yardage.

  • @paulputera7099
    @paulputera7099 Před 5 lety +2

    one thing i would add is if your having difficulty hitting a spot too sight in your problem may run deeper and actually be a problem with anticipation aka target panic. shooting the line will help make the bow perfect but in reality you can still get high and low left and right. learning a dynamic shot will bring back a hole new life too you shooting and in time and work its the final goal. i know because i battled it for a long time myself. if you need too shoot lines too sight in hears a easy way simply shoot the edges of your target paper then you will never need a line and you can get it done with less fuss.

    • @InsideOutPrecision
      @InsideOutPrecision  Před 5 lety +2

      I agree, target panic is a huge issue. Like I said in the video though, this is assuming your bow is tuned, sight is leveled, and you are making good shots.

    It seems to me that if you have paper tuned properly and your arrows get worse as you go back to further distances in the same direction you should be moving your rest a tiny bit to correct that problem - then move the sight pins. I use the walk back line method and then shoot using only the 20-yard pin at the line at 30,:40 & 50 yards. If the shots get progressively worse to the left they I move the rest slightly to the right - and vice versa if the the shots get progressively to the right.

    Why is it if the bow is tilted to the Left or Right it changes the Trajectory? Shouldn't you be able to shoot the bow in a 360 degree circle and still hit dead on? I guess there is some Physics I am missing somewhere.

    • @lloydwellington5271
      @lloydwellington5271 Před 3 lety

      An arrow shoots in an arc. So, if you take a paper disc and cut it in half. Now place the flat portion of the disc on a table, standing up. The arc now would represent the arrows path. If you tilt the disc to the right, the arc, at its starting point, is now pointed right. Once the arrow begins flight it will follow the right handed path. Same is true for left. And if you lay the disc on its side it would show you how drastic the right handed flight could get.

    Not many of us that live outside of the USA have access to an indoor range that can cater for longer than 20 yards.
    So shooting outside at 50, 60, 90 yards, we have more issues with wind drift, where the wind knocks the arrow off course. No amount of tuning can fix natures influence.

      This definitely applies for multi pin sights. Spot Hogg's do have the ability to move each pin right or left, but most sights don't. If your windage changes with distance, it's a tuning issue, level issue, or sight issue.

    • @BobleeSwaggner

      No, the riser on compound bows is intentionally designed to have the arrow fire perfectly in line with the string.
      Imagine the arrow when viewed from the nock down the length of the shaft.
      A long bow would look like a perfect straight line with the arrow tip pointed off to one side:
      ----¤^----
      Whereas a compound bow is designed with a gap and would look a little like:
      ----\¤/----
      Hope that helps
