    I have the spot Hogg fast Eddie two pin. I have had a lot of issues making it work, but things definitely got better when I brought the rail in some. I was running it too far out, and the balance was crazy, as it is a heavy sight. I had no front stabilizer, and running and 8" bee stinger fully loaded in back to compensate! I brought the fast Eddie in two notches to the bow, and it made a world of difference!

    You young guys and all your technology are amazing. Your level of accuracy is light years ahead of me and my old, outdated equipment. I'm still using my old Browning Ballistic Mirage that I bought in 1994 along with my aluminum XX75 2514s. I've killed over 100 deer in my lifetime and actually have 4 P&Y bucks at the taxidermist as we speak, but I wonder how much better I might have done if I used modern equipment.

      @russelllangworthy8855 Před 3 lety +1

      @Tim Gruver Good advice, I'm sure, but at my age I can't justify spending upwards of a thousand bucks for a new bow. I bought a new Hoyt Carbon Matrix in 2011, thinking it would be the last bow I ever bought. Paid $1350 just for the bow. Had it two seasons. Hated it with a passion. Sold it for $450 and went back to my Browning. Not sure how much a new bow would help me now. My last 4 deer have all been P&Y.

    • @kenmaylin4744
      @kenmaylin4744 Před 3 lety +2

    With my black gold sight I have my indicator set at 60 and it’s maxed out at the top, when I want to shoot an exact distance less than 60 I roll my indicator to say 67 now my 20 pin will be 27, my 30 pin will be 37 and so on. I’m not sure if this will work for everyone but it has worked on my set up instead of zeroing my 60 backed off the top and losing that little extra clearance.

    On the black gold sights you can unscrew the base from the sight right next to the sight tape. There are some place holder Allen bolts that can be removed and the sight can be shifted up or down there too. What would be the best position, or does that even matter? I had to change mine because it was running out of up and down adjustments when I started setting the dual trac up for the first time. Any input on that would be helpful.

    If I understand you correctly, I can use my 60y floater to shoot exact yardage under 60 yards if I have enough room for adjustment on the yardage bar to move the sight housing up? So In regard to the Fast Eddie, At 8:28 in the video you talk about the position of the scope mount and how guys run it all the way up and that being incorrect for maximizing yardage. Isn't that exactly how you have it set up in this video? Thats the part im getting hung up on. Is the way you have the scope housing attached the correct way or no?

    • @Gaffneydaniel92
      @Gaffneydaniel92 Před 3 lety

      Ok so I think im figuring it out, correct me if im wrong. If you start out with the scope mounted as high as possible with the side bracket, Your bottom pin becomes higher and higher. There for going to 20 yard your should would be so high that you'd end up running your wheel down as much further to make your 20 shot. Thus eliminating a lot of travel in your dial. Got it. Its a brain tease because you think you want to get that scope as high as possible to get the most clearance at longer distances. Great video though as I have both these sights and have struggled with clearance after 86 yards. But that part I believe is due to 261fps and a low peep height.

    I think my arrows are holding me back from more yardage, but maybe I'm missing something else? I have a Black Gold Ascent Verdict Assault 3-pin, pins go 20, 30, 40 yards, 40 yard pin is my "floater" (pretty low in housing), and sight tape starts at 40 yards at the top. Mathews Traverse, 65#, 31.5" draw, Easton FMJ 5MM totaling 525 grains, flying @ ~265 FPS. I can only get about 65-70 yards before my Blazzers start hitting. I know I can switch to a lighter arrow, and low profile vanes, but I am not sure it's worth the $ and hassle of doing that. If I can get to 100 yards with a lighter setup I would consider it, but I don't want to spend all that money and only get another 20 yards from 60...

    I had a aneurysm trying to comprehend this lol. I guess because our sights don't have sight tape. I'm trying to help my wife out. She had a 3 pin. Pin 1 at 20yrd , pin 2 at 30yrd and that was it. She was bottomed out. A friend suggested the fix5 from trophy ridge. Well, same problem. 3 of her pins are smashed down. Pin 1 and 2 is set for 20/30yrd.
    I have no idea how to get her more range. Move the housing down and her vanes will hit. I think she's 25 inch draw, and I know she's shooting 40 pounds. I tried 1 turn on the limb bolts to increase the poundage but her tiny ass couldn't pull it. She did. But it was a struggle. So we had to back it off.
    Her arrows are cut way to long so I'm sure it would help to cut them to length and drop some weight on them.
