- The details on a complex boulder wall with built in staircase. We also talk about Fabric- when to use and when NOT to, backfill when to use drainage aggregate and when its not needed and more stuff that usually gets left behind.

Enjoyed the commentary Stan. Every job has a storyline, and this one deserved a narrator.
Thank you
I liked the narration.
Haha 9:15!
Friggin love the commentary from the boss to go along with the work
Much appreciated
Lucky you with the rain. I am in Eugene, Oregon and we are wishing for rain. Always love watching your vids, entertaining and informative.
Good luck!
I really like the commentary and love watching you guys work.
Thank you
Stan, it doesn't matter what style video you do because they all have one thing in common. YOU !!!!! and YOU=COOL
!!!!!! SO all your videos are COOL !!! Personally I like you saying GOD BLESS at the end of every video 😂🤣😅🤣😅 it leaves me with a smile on my face and feeling better Thanks again Rodney
You rock! and God Bless brother!
Hi I love your videos I wait every day for them to come out
Thank you!!!
I enjoyed the narrative you were giving and the back story of the ''struggle'' and the ''meat'' that goes into the work sites to get the projects done. It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one that struggle to get suff done!
Thanks for the feedback James. I wasn't sure if this would be accepted or not
@@Dirtmonkey Your narrative and Sam's input in the videos are great stuff to me. I think you should check out Ken White Construction, he does it too and I really like the insight! He's like a younger canadian vesion of you!LOL
absolutely love this video format! keep them coming. I know you have been trying to find the best format to fit the viewers for a while now, but I think you have hit the nail on the head with this one.
Thank you, Thank you thank you. Thats exactly what Ive been doing and appreciate the feedback
I like the commentary and the kind of behind the scenes info while the job is progressing.
Hardscape landscaper for 35 years here. Kingston Ontario. Excellent channel. Captures the installation experience very well. 👍✌️
I do like hearing your input about a job. I actually learn a lot of how a job site works just from you talking.
more to come then
Another vote for the narrated format. Thanks for slowing it down from time to time to hear the conversations, and for not adding BS music.
Glad you liked it!
I love you talking while they work. Keep doing that please.
Stan the narration was beneficial in understanding what and why they were doing.
I like this video format Stan.
sweet!
Love the videos Stan.. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you!
Love this format with you in the corner and commentating
Like the video and commentary. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
That's awesome!! Very talented! Great video!👍👍👍
Many many thanks
@@Dirtmonkey Yessir!
I enjoyed the commentary. You’ve got a great crew of guys who work really well together
I don’t know why I stopped watching your videos Your videos are the best
Thank you!
I'm in the "yeah, I like it" camp for your on screen narration. Cool wall, too.
Thanks Stan, this was a great way to learn and understand what's going on from a person with decades of experience.
Very welcome
Another great one guys. Thanks 💪
Glad you enjoyed it!
I enjoyed the commentary. I dont know things as well as others. This helps me understand a bit better. Helps me know what to look for if I ever need to have work done.
Glad it was helpful!
Tim is definitely an artist, when it comes to building these boulder walls! Not many people could do that! Very talented man!
Thanks Charles
Lol I like you Sran. You're so... genuine. We're about the same age. We chose 2 different paths but I would've loved working with you. I've learned so much watching your videos. You're honest and a hard worker. I respect that. I watch all your videos and n learn something every time. Thumbs up
Thanks for sharing!!
Yes, you narrating the project was cool. In the videos, you seem like a very likable person. Someone who I could sit down and have a beer with.
Enjoyed the commentary. As a landscape architect, the commentary indicates that you were thinking the same as me...fabric, washed stone, leveling, etc. Aren't you glad that railroad ties are finally recognized as a temporary solution? Keep up the great techniques educating the public that there's more than meets the eye to all landscape and site work projects.
I like the new format, it's like you came to my house to watch it with me.
Stanley, you have a great team, knowledgeable and hard working and stoic.
Love the wall and steps, love the detailed exploration at how you arrive at such a beautiful wall. The arrival normally involves hard work,a keen eye and applying the knowledge garnered from years of work, just like any great artisan.
Thanks Stanley and team.
You rock!
I like the Tim cam
Perfect! Your commentary enhances the video a lot! Love the explanation of fabric goods and bads too.
I absolutely love how much detail you guys put into these videos its really refreshing
Glad you enjoy it!
Way better than some other videos
Cool!
Really enjoyed your narration. I liked how it was like you were watching for the first time like we were.
I like your narration and explaining everything. Good amount of phasing in and out with that. Also appreciate you including the good and challenges of the job. Awesome video. Love watching!
I appreciate that!
Great work and thanks for the content stay safe and take care
Thanks, will do and you to!
Stanley "Dirt Monkey" Genadek No problem and thank you friend👍
Stanley "Dirt Monkey" Genadek Also forgot to mention I like the part where you where hanging out with us and explaining and talking to us would love to see it in future videos. Also can’t wait to see what we have in store next keep it up
Picture in picture commentary is perfect . Keep up the great work 👍
Thank you so much 😀
Loved it! The play-by-play, the back stories, awesome.
Great idea to do the video and excellent end result. Didn't see much detail about how or what they were doing besides tamping base and placing rocks using specialized heavy machinery.
I do enjoy this style of videos
I swear Tim uses that excavator like it’s part of him.
I agree. I think he would wash dishes with it if it would fit in his kitchen
@@Dirtmonkey Have a contest between you, Tim, Alex, and Sam. Heck, why not your whole crew! This would be fun!
@@Dirtmonkey Do you build Armour stone Walls ever? i seen a few pieces only I always see you building boulder ones, is there none in your area?
The commentary was a great idea Stanley. 👍🏼 Thanks for the content!
Love the narration. Love how you explain what is going so we can understand how and why you and your guys do nwhat they do.
Absolutely like you in the background giving the history of the employees as well as what they are doing and why they are doing it. I automatically felt like I was a part of the crew.
Only this week we were thinking of how to replace the old sleeper wall in front of the office buildings. A rock wall was the best and obvious solution but none of us has ever built one. I can show my boss this as a good example now. Thanks Stan and men. You guys build good stuff.
You guys gonna do it yourself?
@@Dirtmonkey Yup, we do most of our little projects ourselves as a break from farming and to give ourselves that feeling that we 'Built that ourselves', that good way to gain knowledge and to share the work experience. At one time the company was much larger with drill rigs all over Australia, land development and residential building as well as thousands of hectares of cane and cattle. The Big Boss passed away and the Young Bloke has been winding back over the last ten years so that many of the employees have left and those who remain just love share their knowledge and skills (and to try new things for fun). Don't worry, we always get professional advice such as engineers, and tradesmen whenever needed as they were often a part of the larger group of companies.
Heck, I reckon we have enough dozers, backhoes, excavators and heavy haulage vehicles to start another company anytime, but the farms tend to keep 'The Young Master' busy enough for now. Well that and the town sheds , parks, rentals, etc, etc, etc.
I like the commentary. It's like watching a video with someone that was there.
Cool wall. I like the commentary. 👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
I am a 62 year old woman with my own skid loader. My husband and I just installed a three stair step in the middle of a Boulder wall. This was very informative going forward to set the rest of the boulders. I love rocks and heavy equipment. I think I missed my calling.
I love your honest constructive criticism and head nodding, face palming of observing your crew. 😂
Like the narration, Stan ... but when you whisper, it's very hard to hear you.
sorry- I just get into it sometimes
@@Dirtmonkey I agree, unless someone is sleeping and you are trying to not wake them up, I was using head phones and there was a couple of spots I couldn't understand you either, we want to hear you. For my two cents worth, continue the narration.
@@Dirtmonkey I loved the narration. The whispering was a nice touch for me because that's how I sound when I talk to myself on jobsites. Hahahahaa
I liked that. Commenting this helped me understand the steps. Interesting to see that he's repositioning the boulders on and on and on until he's staisfied. That's dedication.
I definitely liked the picture and picture commentary.
Great video. It was very informative.
Thank you!
I LOVE WATCHING YOU GUYS BUILD THESE BOULDER WALLS. Your crew is really artistic. They make it look easy.
Thank you Sir!
loved the hangout Stan keep em coming!
Insight & input during observation is essential (for me) ; especially being the boss / & not being on site to give input & make decisions. Over explaining things reeeeeally helps the way & the how ... I'm just a guy, with just a house, that just needs ... a lot. All info that comes from experience is helpful & useful. Thank You for all you do & all the time you take to do it.
(...any company is only as good as the people that work for it ; Big Kudos to your crew too!!)
That’s a NIIIICCE boulder
Thank you
Good video love the commentary heres a video idea with deer season coming up would love to see you and frankie build a diy tower blind
Cool idea!!
Very much like the Blow-by-Blow format.
It doesn't matter what format you use, or how you choose to present it, all your videos are just freakin' great !
Glad you like them!
Really enjoyed this approach of your commentary!
Glad to hear it!
Stan, narrative definitely lets you add useful commentary that would be overlooked during the live action shots. If there is a plot plan it would be useful to include just to help orientate the viewers. The wall definitely added character and value to the owners backyard versus the railroad ties.
Enjoyed the commentary a lot Stan
Very cool!
Stan awesome video I really liked this style showing the struggles and frustrations. Also having you narrate for us is really cool. Thanks stan
Glad you enjoyed it!
Keep doing the narration it helps some people understand
Really enjoyed your commentary stan. Would like to hear more stories about your guys. Keep up the great Work!
Thank you! Will do!
Love hearing the behind the scenes
I really liked this style of video
Enjoyed the talk and explanation.
Glad to hear it!
have over 20 years on equipment and i would work for free for a week just to get stick time on a bucket like that ,,, looks so cool!!
Wow, I am not into wall building but when you talked about the fabric and how it keeps the dirt and sand in but allows the water to flow through and what happens if you just use a simple piece of plastic I enjoyed that. I now know when to spot when someone is doing it wrong. Just good information.
Cool Bill!
Boulders and pine trees! Looks great every time
Stan!! when you said left or right, l also forget to us men it don't matter because we allready know were we need to be in our head. It dont matter if you make the wrong turn becouse we know we can fix it..l enjoy your work and will allways watch you and learn from your work direction wrong or right. It's remembering were you
Need to be and don't let anything get in the way. Keep on going mate enjoying your work, just don't forget to love your boss more than anything keep her fully charged and get her involved in any way possible. Us Men are like a tools that works hard to get the job done! but with out the best battery were broken. KICK ASS STAN THE MAN. Now that's a retaining wall that is done right thanks for showing me boys..
Simo- Brother! God Bless my Man!!!!
Loved the commentary, very educational
Love the videos keep them coming
The play by play and incite is great 👍 👌
Love the videos stan.especially how not only do you show the work being done but you explain how and why your doing everything you do to get all the jobs done efficiently and correctly without cutting corners and still giving nothing but high quality work. Not only that but how explain what was/went wrong with the jobs you have to redo that someone else has done that failed!!! Oh and the drink your drinking in the video is called pellegrino which is pronounced pel-le-gri-no!!
Haha thanks for the awesome support buddy! Happy to help
Appreciated the commentary/walk through.
Always a great video, the longer the better.🤘
Appreciate it!
Liked the format
Definitely enjoyed the commentary.
Awesome, thank you!
loved this style
Enjoyed the video with you adding your comments.
Awesome and thanks for the feedback
I liked the commentary and the job looked good.
Definitely like this style of video, very helpful to have the explanation of what they are doing and why
Glad to hear it!
I've never met anyone with the same last name as me that's crazy that I live in Minnesota too
Holy crap- We've got to be Cousins
Stan this looks so cool!! I’m gonna use this at my home.
Maybe consider some bolt on rubbers for the claw.
Go for it!
@@Dirtmonkey What is that "claw" officially called?
I liked you being in the bottom right instead of pausing the video to explain
i really enjoyed the chat down in the corner
Cool!
Another great and informative yet interesting video thx
I enjoyed the commentary, makes it a lot more interesting.
Thank you!
I enjoyed the commentary. I could watch more. I also still like the ones where you are on site as well.
Excellent presentation!🪨🤘
I watched a video by Garrett Williams who was showing a friend building a boulder wall. The excavator operator had a camera on the bucket so he could see how the boulders looked as he built it from the back side.
Awesome video stan. Really like the commentary. Great for learning
More to come!
Very entertaining and informative. Thank you for this.
Glad it was helpful!
Love this type of video love your narratives keep em coming
Thank you! Will do!
I really like this format Stan keep doing videos like this one!!!
