Started with Greg in Epic NPC man ....found my way to Bored Compilations and now I'm here watching hours of D&D even though I've never played. No regrets.
I love how within the course of like five in-game days they've gone from being horrified by Bob climbing inside things to cheering for it like a party trick

Just blows my mind that I've watched this every week for over a year. I remember seeing the promo introducing this. Having never played d&d myself I wasn't sure I would enjoy the content, but here we are and I'm hooked.
Never played D&D myself, but this series has been one of the best things I have ever watched. I really hope you guys can figure out a way to film and continue the story soon!
the dungeon master really makes the game, and Rob is setting the bar way to high lol people talk about the mat mercer effect (another good dungeon master online) but for me Rob is the best DM ive come across, add in these 4 idiots and this is just amazing. I would pay for this leveling of DMing in my games.

Rob is such a creative DM, especially on the fly. I get this is for entertainment but he is also extremely patient. Lol
Yeah, agreed, and how he gets so into acting out the NPCs like the wolves and the Frog king is excellent.
Extremely, as well as lenient for new players. The first time I played the DM was ruthless and I damned near died.
Bodger: "I don't want to be fighting! I wanna be diplomatic."
Also Bodger: "Lets just casually set this tent on fire for no reason!"
There was a reason, they needed to create chaos. And it sure did!
You can always count on Bodger to get the job done. He is a man of action not words.
The green screen stuff of the assassins fight continues to be one of my favourites to date! Brilliant dice "luck" and acting XD
I'm basing my first campaign as DM on a group of Adventures, covertly hired by Laethil to track down Baradun and The Dickheads, just finding abused elderly people and exploded carcasses from Honeywood to The Dead Frost and beyond 😂

Rob is one of the best Dungeon Masters I have ever seen. Very fair, very patient, creative as hell, keeps progression pace while letting them do their bantering. Absolutely incredible! Well done buddy.

Never was interested in playing DandD until i watched this series. Really opened my eyes to all the fun it can be. Played a one shot two weeks ago and now have joined a new full (pirates-ish theme) campaign with 5 friends every Thursday! Thanks for opening my eyes to the joy of D and D!
Every time I rewatch this, it just blows me away how keen Rob is. He can take one stray word or comment and turn it into a story or character trait. If he asks you a question, think long and hard before you answer. He is listening!

*Conclusions:* Curiously enough, Ben only rolled 2 Natural 1s (on d20s) this time around, but it still drives home the *Cursed* theory because it was literally two 1s in a row. Furthermore, other people’s dice actually managed to f*** Ben over, whether it was Greg’s poor heals, the "of course" moment of Rob rolling to select a target, or Rob rolling damage to KO Bob in one hit. Ben technically rolled the most Natural 20s, which was surprising, but didn’t actually help him much. He also rolled the least amount of damage; partly due to casting _Sleep_ instead of attacking, partly due to rolling low on damage often, partly due to being knocked out in both combats, and partly due to his main weapons being a Dagger & Shortsword. He rolled 11 or above 19/30 times, 10 or below 10/30 times. Our boy is still definitely cursed.
Rowan rolled the most, in large part due to the 18 rolls he made with advantage, which saved him from actually having to use either of his Natural 1s. He dealt the most damage, and succeeded the most. Going by his actual rolls he rolled the worst. He rolled 11 or above 25/50 times, and 10 or below 23/50 times. But since so many of them are with advantage, he improved his roll 15/18 times. He succeeded 14/18 times while rolling with advantage. All of this goes to show just how powerful advantage is.
Adam rolled the most 1s, in large part due to spamming _Magic Missile,_ because at low levels why wouldn’t you? Damage is damage. Another was for initiative, which doesn’t actually give any real disadvantage. Another was for *Wild Magic Surge,* and it didn’t do anything harmful. He & Bodger are nearly tied for damage, and even if Adam rolled more 1s, he always rolled multiple dice to make up for it, whereas when Rowan rolled a 1 on damage, that was it. Even when he loses, Baradun seems to win. He rolled 11 or above 11/29 times, 10 or below 12/29 times, and had the most unknown rolls because he rarely called out his rolls for *Wild Magic Surge* unless it actually came up a 1.
Alan continues to roll considerably less than his allies. He got 5 Nat 1s, but two were for healing Bob, and one was for damage. It is hilarious that his “Lucky” re-roll gave him a Nat 1, however. This speaks to his luck across all his dice, as he rolled 10 or below 15/25 times (11 or above 10/25 times) and failed to get any Nat 20s this time around.

Alright. I've been watching VLDL for a while now, voraciously consuming (wink) all the content I can. I very rarely comment on any CZcams videos, but this series has inspired me to leave two separate thoughts here:
Firstly, I now aim to use Godot to make a soundboard of Bodger and all his catchphrases: "Right", "I am pissed off", "I'm going to hit him...with...ma axe.", and of course "AALALALALALALALA".
Secondly, I watch these with captions on so as not to disturb my wife TOO much (she never played DnD, and a group of rambunctious adults rolling dice and screaming can be a bit grating), and I have to say "chorus of dodgy didgeridoos" is one of the greatest subtitles I have ever seen. You guys nail even the closed captioning humor. Kudos, one and all!

If there's something I learnt from the hill giant battle is to keep things simple during boss fights, especially at low level. Flourishes and cool tricks were mostly a hindrance here
