An easy temporarly fix found is if you have an issue with your decompression cable, 1- put your bike in third gear 2-use your feet and go backyard (less then a yard will be enough) and try to start again you should be able to start, by doing this (be in third and go backyard) that decompress the engine

Do you need to start the bike while it's moving? Or do you push backwards, stop, then start it?

The Suzuki Shuffle. Sometimes it worked on mine, but for the most part it not. Got a good workout pushing it back and forth trying to get the compression to release. I have a 1999 Suzuki Intruder 1500LC. When it runs, it runs good. When it doesn't start it becomes a pain.

I'll be looking at a bike to purchase and would like to check the decompression system. If it's working properly, will I see the lever move quickly or hear a click, when I hit the start button?
