They patched it. You can't get Turks, Trotters, Arabians, or gang horses anymore. They ruin every fun glitch.

I got a Silver Fox Trotter in chapter 2, but it was accidentally lol. I wasn't even trying to glitch the game, but then I was riding through the map and then I found a woman asking for a ride to ranch Emerald. I think her horse was supposed to be dead, but instead, it wasn't, and it was a Fox Trotter (her cores where in the red) I rode the horse and took the woman to Emerald Ranch and when I took the Fox Trotter to the stables, they said her legs were injured but I just kept feeding her and now she is very well and I'm using her now xD She is so pretty, I was soooo lucky because we can only have the silver Fox Trotter in the epilogue.

I got it through the glitch in chapter 2, but it died with Author dying for another one.
Been doing this for about a week now and I figuered that fox trotters and turkomans spawns more in The heartlands area. Got the silver dapled pinto and the silver turkoman there. I also got all three arabians in the area, three sisters.
And it works better if you shoot the rider in the foot and then ride away.

Then you kill him and take his horse. You loose honour tho..
Just a little tip, even though it's not the best horse as far as stats go, the andalusian horses are pretty awesome. They are pure war horses and have an extremely high tolerance for predator attacks and gunshots (almost never buck you off). Only horse "braver" than them are the ardennes. Plus, you can get one from the strawberry stables in chapter 2 for only like $150 or less depending on honor

Even though they are fast, the Arabians are tiny horses and they scare easily leading to them bucking me off so many times while free roaming.

Finally got the Rose grey bay Arabian. The glitch is finicky about execution, but it does work....and for some reason it always spawns male horses.
How long did it take?
@@g.p.3909 I kept doing it over several days, I got 2 white Arabians, a black one, and Andelussa, and several other uncommon horses, but it did take a while. I'm sure its random, the hardest part is getting it to work right. Go far enough away and wait a second before turning around. The hardest part sometimes is catching the horse that spawns. I tried to do it in the heartlands where it was wide open country, instead of around a bunch of trees and brush. Hope that helps.

janedogyj85 I found it during a mission in chapter 4, you ride on it part way during the mission and all you have to do is jump back on it after the mission and take it to a stable. :)
Sierra's Safari ahhhh, the Leopard Appaloosa.....the first horse I stole from someone. I had a hard time letting go of that horse, we had a lot of history.
Nice. I was only able to use the exploit to spawn every type of arabian (even a male white, which doesn't really exist in-game) and every type of turkoman, but no foxtrotters or top speed thoroughbreds... So sad.
You CAN get any horse or do any glitch you want at any point in the game by this method: (no matter what version or patch)
Save your savegames on a USB stick,
Delete the game,
Reinstall the game,
Turn auto updates OFF,
Reinstall your savegames, (your savegames will actually not be deleted anyway)
Now you can use your savegame you left off with on the newest version of the game and do anything you like on the first version of the game.
Get the horses, etc.
After that you can update the game again.
Your savegames will NOT corrupt by doing this method. If your savegames won't corrupt on a newer update than it won't corrupt on an earlier version either.
I did this method and it works!
If for some reason you have doubts or it wouldn't work... then you can still use your saved savegame on the USB stick and must work on the version you left off with.
My favorite horse is the Missouri Fox Trotter.
You can still get your Nokota horse in the wild. I tamed two of them this morning down southeast of Riggs Station by the water. There are two color variations that I saw, a blue lustrous roan and a white mottled coat. I literally stood a long time and debated which one to keep since I already have three horses in the stable. Finally I decided to keep the blue lustrous coat but I sure admire the other one too.
Here's a method I found when I was in Strawberry. Unfortunately you'll get a bounty so make sure to have a lot of health tonics
Step 1: Head to Strawberry
Step 2: Disarm all the lawmen in the area until they pull out a knife but don't kill them
Step 3: Get on your current horse and ride slowly away
After a few steps you'll see horses that just spawned in and the lawmen won't be riding them because they're busy trying to get you off your horse. If the horse you want hasn't spawned in just keep riding. So far I've seen Turkomans, Missouri Fox Trotters, Arabians, Hungarian Halfbreds, Ardennes, American Standardbreds, Andalusians, etc.

This glitch does not work in Lemoyn, it wil mostly spawn Morgan's there. Go to emerald ranch, I got an Arabian, fox trotter and a thorough breat.
NubIsOn posted this on December 27. Each NPC can only spawn one type of horse, so if you don't want that horse, you have to find a different NPC.
Also, the Missouri Fox Trotter is better than the thoroughbred or nokota.

@Maurice Ballard Ummm. ALL level 4 bonded horses have "unlimited" stamina if you keep pressing L3 every 10 seconds and have a good saddle and stirrups equipped. Health, speed, and acceleration are the only 3 stats that make much of a difference because of the L3 trick.
There’s a really easy way to figure out if the horse you found is a gang horse, you don’t need to take it to a stable to see. All you have to do is try to engage with it - pat it/brush/feed. If you see the +🐴 symbol on the right hand side of the screen, it can be stabled. Gang horses don’t give any horse points when you treat them right.
Thanks for this amazing tip! Tried it a bit and now I have a black arabian (probably sell it though), the silver turkoman, and the dappled fox trotter which I'm very proud of.
Too bad that you can't keep the gang horses, though I recommend that you search through the saddle bags, because Lenny's horse actually had a gold nugget in the bag.
If you have a really good or top behaviour rating, it is very profitable to buy the horses. They are half price to purchase and end up being sellable for double your outlay once they are fully "trained".
The first horse i got was the rose gray arabian. It took while for a foxtrotter. It is annoying when you let them go and they become a "witness" instead of chasing you.
Why do publishers patch single player content? If someone wants to cheat, let them!

I got the rose grey arabian, Sadie's pinkish/red mustang from the epilogue, John's horse, the dark bay Turkoman, tiger striped mustang, strawberry roan Ardennes. A very nice glitch and easy to do.

Love ya Tag, no brag I got the silver dapple MFT from this method during my second playthrough. Luckily this is a dishonorable save so all my eff ups were "part of the goddamn plan!"

1) Amber Champagne Fox Trotter (I like solid colour horses because I grew up riding them irl)
2) Rose Grey Bay Arabian (Looks like my horse Horatio who is an Arabian)
3) Silver/Bay Turkoman (I can’t pick)

This method is way better than some others who say that you have to use binoculars to scout the NPC, then lasso off, then shoot in the leg, then run away, then get into a gun battle kill the NPC on the new spawned rare horse, and the track and break the rare horse.
Thanks to the old glitch you showed I got my beautiful dark bay turkoman, named him Timothy. He’s the best and I’ll never sell him!

You can steal any horse from the saint Denis stable easy
The reason you couldn’t “scan” (study) the horse was because your character was being shot at so when you have enemies nearby the game will deactivate some animal mechanics to enable smooth shootouts with NPC’s. 👍🏼

You can get them but you can't stable them. Or there's a glitch that let you keep them? I had Sadie's Mustang but I couldn't keep it.

I had a random glitch the other day, an npc randomly rode past me and then I jumped off my horse for something, a minute later I continued up the road to find the horse alone without the rider, he was nowhere to be seen so I “borrowed” the horse. It was a thoroughbred.

Top 5 Favorite Horses: 1. Cremello Gold Dutch Warmblood (the most handsome horse in the game) 2. Black American Standardbred (2nd most handsome horse in the game and they're actually faster than the info suggests because they're a larger breed then the "superior" or "elite" horses) 3. Dark Bay Turkoman (3rd most handsome horse in the game and that coat is amazing!) 4. Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Foxtrotter (The coat is beautiful, I just wanted it to be taller!) 5. Silver Turkoman (There's a reason the ALL WISE HOSEA owns this beautiful specimen) BTW for all you who believe Arabians are the best breed in the game answer this question for me.. if that step up from a donkey you call an arabian has to to 3 steps to a Turkoman or standardbred's 1 step and at the first sign of trouble they throw you off and run for the hills how can you possibly consider this breed as the top? I believe all attributes need to be included when determining the best breeds including temperament. Don't you agree?

I just did this last night and it still works. Be aware for best result hang out in the plains part of the game. I did notice something though, no NPC actually follows me with a new horse. Most of the time the NPC just walks about 2 feet and gives up and sometimes there is a new spawned horse and something there is not

Yeah it's old news but it's good to know that this method hasn't been patched yet by seeing the post date on the video. When it's old it's too easy to assume it's outdated info and the method won't work anymore.
I value temperament above all else. That’s why I love the Andalusian, I got one in both play through. Right after I bought one I get jumped by a pack of wolves and she doesn’t panic, another time a cougar was scared of being trampled by her. Great horse. My main horse in both my play throughs until the epilogue.

I've done this a few times by accident and didn't realize it. Ended up with a Dutch Warmblood and a black Arabian. I guess I wasn't paying attention to what they were riding before, usually it was the people that I accidentally collided with who got angry a shot at me. I just assumed there were rare NPCs with good horses.

I did something similar, but completely on accident at Emerald Ranch. I was trying to pull a stolen wagon into Seamus’ barn, & accidentally hit him & he turned into an ‘enemy’ on my mini map...started galloping away & turned around & boom, a black Arabian spawned on my first playthrough. Tried it again on my second & third playthrough & I’ve gotten all sorts of horses to spawn, including the skull faced Nokota...but couldn’t stable him because it’s considered a damn “gang horse.” 😭
I should also add, I’ve tried running into him & for the life of me couldn’t get the game to let me do it, so instead I just lasso him while he’s at his little fence area & drag him into the field in front of his barn & then just canter around on my horse while he’s shooting at me & a random horse will spawn for him. Some are obviously more rare than others & this method doesn’t always spawn a rare horse but a good method nonetheless. Hope this helps people! 😁

You need the NPC to chase you
Sometimes the NPC’s spawn as not aggressive so maybe you’re unlucky
If they keep running after you shoot the npc in the leg then ride off until the dot turns to a bar then turn round they will spawn a new horse every time with this method

This method doesn’t work. I’ve been trying it for two hours and I only get shitty ones. I am very early in chapter 2 and I am riding the Thoroughbred from the Special Edition. I don’t know if this matters.
I've been trying it for the past few days, first horse I got was an American Standardbred (the silver tail buckskin) rlly beautiful horse! After that I tried several times, pretty sure it spawned a champagne fox trotter once but I wasn't able to catch it. Eventually got a dark bay turkoman and settled down.
Edit: I got nokotas too but I already had one (u can find these on the wild, I got the blue one by little creek river)

I’ve found that you won’t get any rare horses anywhere in lemoyne, try doing this near emerald ranch most of what gets spawned there are rare horses

Do it in the heartlands. Make sure youre not in Lemoyne. Make sure you ride away until they are outside your mini map and its just red shading in their direction.. then turn back. If they dont chase you go back and shoot them in the foot. It literally worked for me every time. Got Nakotas.. thoroughbreds.. arabian.. turkomans.. It works awesome.

And for anyone asking, it works everywhere, and what I did was yank the person off their horse, once he stood up I shot him in the leg, then drive away until that red dot is off the mini map, turn around and go back to him and he has another horse
Using this exploit, i got silver and dark bay turkoman, tiger striped mustang and silver foxtrotter stabled.
After fully bonding with foxtrotter using this method, it sells for $280 at the horse fence and i used it for the horse fence money glitch to get extra cash 🍻🍺🤞🏼🤞🏼

Do you remember where you were when you found the Silver Turkoman? I've gotten those a couple times but it's always the gang version. I've gotten several Dark Bay Turks this way, but the Silver one you can stable still eludes me!

Addendum: After hrs of this (in ch3) I have not managed to change the horse to anything better than a bay mustang. I have gotten tons of what I would call mediocre horses (saddlers, nokotas, paints, work horses) but no Andalusians, Foxtrotters, Turkomans, or anything of that tier.
Not sure if u found it or not but if u follow the railroad tracks south out of Valentine u come to a small bridge area u can go under. Here u will find a body hanging and parts of the body scattered all over and attached to one of the bridge beams is a head with a note is his mouth. It should. Been letting bounty hunters track me down and doing the same thing. They always ride up on nice horses. Gotta chase them immediately once you kill the bounty Hunter tho.

In Saint Denis some players could get Arabian in their first try while others like me only get Kentucky saddler or Tennessee Walker; I've tried this method but every time the horse re spawns from the same breed so maybe the excellence/class of breeds re spawning here or in Saint Denis depends on the players honor. what do you think?
Has this been patched already? Been trying it and no horse spawns, they just run after me while shooting.
Not patched. Doesnt work in Lemoyne. I did it for a while in the heartlands today and worked perfectly. Got nokotas.. thoroughbreds.. an arabian... a couple turkomans. Gotta make sure you ride away far enough to where theyre outside of your mini map and its just red shading in their direction.. then turn and ride back and 90 percent of the time theyll be mounting a brand new horse

@@msmurk2011 Thanks. It was working for me and then I jumped on a few hours later to try again it wasn't working, just assumed it had been patched. Didnt pay much attention to where I was at the time.
dont know if this helps anyone but there's a random encounter by ringneck creek to calliga hall where a woman with a brindle thoroughbred spawns adn challenges you to a race, so even though they patched it I feel like in theory, you could farm other good horses if you spawn the encounter

Yes! I know this glitch because of NubIsOn and now this guy is like 'hey, I found a new glitch! Come and see, I wanna views, it's completely new!'. Well, it's not new because I know about it for weeks haha. At first I thought it's something else but then I've realized he copied Nubis.
This still works, I tried it today. Tried for over an hour in the Bayou in Lemonye and couldn't get it to work at all. Saw some comments saying it doesn't work in Lemonye and recommending the area around Emerald Ranch. It works around there... Got an Andalusian and a Turkoman, and some paint coats I hadn't seen before, as the only 3 I managed to get spawn. Sometimes the victim's horse doesn't run far enough (I'm not sure why), but when it does this still works well
Shoot the rider in the leg right after you pull them off. This aggros them enough to chase you most times plus it spooks their horse more to make sure it runs off.

My favourite coats are the rose gray and silver tail but my favourite horse breed is the foxtrotter, I wish they would introduce more coats on the different breeds since most of em can have them irl and a big + for more customization

Tag, I was so butthurt that they fixed the horse-thingy north of st denis by the time that I learned of it (HOURS OF TRYINGI reloaded my ch2 save and got a MS FOX TROTTER!!! You da best man! I’m on my 2nd playthrough and at ch4 where Art starts his coughing bs. Not no more, back to ch2 wit a Missouri foxy trotter

Attempt one - shoulda planned better, got witnessed, shots were exchanged, got witnessed again and bounty - total fustercluck. Attempt two - could not believe my luck, Silver Dapple Pinto Missouri Fox Trotter, beautiful horse, great stats - sold the White Arabian & kept the Fox. Attempts three thru six - coupla Nokotas, nice American Paint, Mustang with black mane. Attempt seven - Dark Bay Turkoman - YES! Darn thing ran off behind the stable south of Emerald Ranch, couldn't lasso it among the trees, it jumped the fence into the corral, ran in the back door of the stable barn - never to be seen again! I'll keep trying, cheers for this tip.
EDIT:- Road leading from Emerald Ranch to O'Creagh's Run, Dark Bay Turkoman first attempt. Still trying for Dutch Warmblood.

The Missouri Fox Trotter is my fav. And he is gorgeous! And after him is the Turkon (sp?) And the Arabian is a very skittish animal in real life. And females are moodier then the males are. And that is true in true life. Enjoying your channel, RockStar needs to hire you. lol Debs from Texas

pro tip yall - uninstall the game, disconnect to the wifi and then install it again
and if you have your game at version 1.00 you did everything right
and then use the saint denis glitch and save yourself time, bois

Does this actually work? I would like to play through it again, and would like me some Turkoman or Foxtrotter, but I don't want to loose my older saves, if it doesn't work...
Peteurre81 don't worry!! tried it few days ago and my saves are safe and sound i can guarantee:--)
but if you want to be completely sure you can aways upload your saves to online storage if you have ps plus, but this really isn't necessary
this works 100%. ive tried it and you can do the saint Denis glitch and the unlimited gold bars glitch in limpamy. If you want to do the unlimited gold bars glitch, remember to first get the legend of the east satchel from Pearson in your camp as it will increase the amount of gold bars you can carry to 99 i think.

@@tsr6805 I've had the Dark Bay spawn via this method a few times up in Ambarino on the trail above the train-tracks.... the section that has lots of wildflowers west of the lookout.
Why do they patch this? I understand if this was in online mode but it's single player, not like there's mtx for you to buy horses. Can't have more stable space, can't use the nice looking horses till late in the game, no un allowed. Just let us enjoy the game, god damn...
if you have a hard copy you should be able to reload pre-patch as long as you stay disconnected. do the glitch, get the horses you want and make save points, then patch.

So I was just trying this a bit, but 5 NPCs in a row declined to chase me. Is anyone else having that problem? I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong here.
upasakalee you can shoot them in the leg after lassoing them to guarantee them chasing you

@@samg3097 Yup - what Sam said. Just shoot them in the foot (NubIsOn uploaded this method first and explains this) before you run off and it'll aggro them enough to make sure they give chase... just be careful not to kill them.
Yeah, best to use a low damage gun like a varmint rifle, double action or semi auto pistol to make sure they survive
Why do they keep patching these things! Its not like they are glitches that mess up the game and people can choose not to use the cheat if they want the proper experience so it sucks that there's no longer the choice.
That's my exact thought everytime. It doesn't matter. They take these things away like it's a swipe against them that a loophole was found. It made post 100% fun. Now they took this one too.

This worked great! I came across two different turkomans, a couple silver dapple pinto Missouri Fox Trotters, and a rose grey bay Arabian in just an hour. My stable is complete now. I’m still very partial to my all black American standardbred though

And to get special coated horses that you cannot buy you can run around the west elizabeth looking for camps and most of the time they have a nice coated horse that you cannot buy i got the dipped in white paint horse doing this and i also saw a few different types of appoloosas^-^
I literally found a Nakota roaming around near Limpany and a Thoroughbred wandering right outside of Valentine. Just randomly chillin’. So now they’re both mine.
