@@mailaandjames I cannot wait for NACS either. The Montrose, CO magic docks were in the same parking lot as two ChargePoint DCFC's. However, one of those was off-line and the other had a Leaf charging to 100% with no owner in sight. So, the Tesla magic docks really saved me that afternoon.
My EQS came with two years of free charging at Electrify America so I don’t think I would want to pay at a Magic Dock when I can charge for free at EA. That benefit will expire in June and I hope that Mercedes will offer a Tesla adapter soon after that. When they do it should be plug and charge, so no need to use an app.
Hi, thanks so much for sharing all your information and your journey. I just purchased 04-20-2024 a 2024 EQE 350+ SUV the dealer did not charge The car took delivery with it at about 21% battery went to electrify America. It started charging at about 173 kWh, but then quickly dropped in about three minutes only about 40 kWh. I guess I did not pre-condition the battery is there any advice on how to start a precondition on the way to the charging station I actually couldn't find out how to select the charging station I was going to because all the charging stations in the car navigation just show half baked addresses, I knew the address but couldn't figure out how to select the exact charging station I was going to thanks
Congrats on the purchase. To precondition, go to EQ (top left corner), then “charging”, then HVAC bat. Pre-temp control. Mine’s set to automatic. For charging stations, I go EQ, then “route”, then “charging stations”. You can filter by kilowatts. Hope this helps.
Not yet. Mercedes is supposed to release adapters this year. There’s limiting software at Tesla superchargers that’ll prevent you from using 3rd party adapters.
@@mailaandjames OK, thanks again for your quick reply. Appreciate it very much down here in South Florida the electrify America chargers are getting really bad reviews. I don’t know for sure because I do not have an EQ as of yet.
@@jenniferoneal1538 I have an EQS, not an EQB, so I don't know for sure how it works on the EQB. In my car, the setting for automatic preconditioning is on the charging screen. Select the EQ menu, then the charging tab at the bottom of that menu. There's a button to turn on automatic preconditioning. There's no way to manually precondition. Remember that for the car to precondition, you have to have navigated to the charging station using the car's built-in navigation system. Not apple maps or CarPlay. The car has to know you are heading to a charger. It will determine if the battery needs warmed up or cooled down and will do it automatically.
Sure did..learned that the Replica's are just as good.. 99% of us are not Rich and can afford over $400 to put something on your wrist to show off... Thanks for nkuwan
Tesla hasn't opened up charging to Mercedes, only Ford and Rivian. You can only use Tesla chargers WITH MAGIC DOCK, so your ability to charge on Tesla is very limited at best. It will be a while before Tesla opens up to other automakers.
I charged our MB EQS SUV 4x last fall in Montrose, CO (magic dock). It, too was seamless. I got up to a 148kW rate of charge at around 30% SoC.
Nice! Can’t wait for NACS.

Yeah, I can’t wait. Press release states early 2024 so it should be soon. I know Ford has access to Superchargers now.
You did not mention if I need an adapter because the tip is different than the Mercedez EQS 450
This Tesla supercharger has a magic dock (adapter) built in. There are only superchargers with magic dock in California right now.

Hi, Can you charge at any Tesla supercharger if you have an adapter of your own considering getting a EQE SUV. thanks

Did you precondition the battery? If not, that’s likely why you only got 91kW of charging speed.
Good point. I didn’t pre-condition the battery.
Thanks for the helpful video. I haven’t used a Magic Dock yet.
I have a EQB how do I precondition the battery?

“Ohh I guess I have to do it manually” proceeds to talk to car again, 1st world problems 😂
I know, right?😂
Can you leave a link for the doc connector. I just bought eqb. Greetings from Las Vegas. Thank you
This is the magic dock which already in the Tesla supercharger. I don’t think MB has an adapter to NACS yet.
Wow, seems kind of expensive for 20% charge about how many miles was added with 20% charge did you take note? Thanks.
Probably about 70+ miles
