One time I was ordering takeout from a Jamaican restaurant. I placed my order and the cashier/server started to fill my platter. Without looking up she asked, “Is it a cat?” I had no idea what she was talking about so I asked her what she meant. Still focused on her job she said, “Your shirt.” I looked down and saw a couple stray hairs on me. She was right. I actually have two cats. Still, that shit was cold.

funniest thing i've seen in ages! i can definitely relate to the drama of family in the Caribbean. he should talk more about that first-gen experience. there's a lot of comedy potential there. i occasionally have to do cultural translation for my black friends, because they really don't understand how different stuff is when you grow up in a Caribbean-American family.
If it doesn't translate wouldn't it be hard to get a laugh? I didn't get the Jamaican restaurant joke at all because I've never seen a Jamaican restaurant. All I know about Jamaica is they like weed and Bob Marley. Best to have a good repertoire and be able to read the room.
