Thanks for all the love on this video! Quick update from Feb 2023 -- this bag is now $2700 on the Saint Laurent site. +$410 increase overall since my purchase and a +$150 just in the last couple months. Would have never imagined it to increase so much but #inflation I guess. I would definitely check department store prices and or luxury retailers as they tend to have more sales/discounts throughout the year (i.e. Selfridges, Neiman Marcus etc.)!

Hi can you please let me know to decide between kate and sunset. My choice is sunset tbh but deepdown not sure. Guess sunset would be a good double purpose one for both am and pm and looks more sophisticated than kate. But do let me know what do you think? Thanks 💕

hi! i have always loved the Kate, but at the time I thought the sunset was a much better option because of the space and I also liked the hardware for the sunset more than the Kate. The Kate has the light gold shiny hardware which is cute but just not the most versatile. I would still consider getting it but there's just so many other bags to consider nowadays haha! good luck and thank you for your comment!

According to your opinion, in what leather this bag is more gorgeous and durable - smooth calf skin or, like in your case, coated bark leather? I'm now considering buying in internet store, because I don't have opportunity to choose in off-line store. Thank you

personally, I would go with the coated bark leather if you are at all concerned about overall durability and wear. as you can see from my video, the texture is not as obvious as a grained leather counterpart, but it still provides you resistance from scratches, dents, marks and even potential stains. The inside for this coated bark leather bag is smooth calf skin and the scratches due to overall wear and tear are very apparent. I would honestly be very sad if this was the state of my bag on the outside. BUT, there are people who like to see this on their bags because it gives it character and it shows how loved it is. however, for me and for this bag specifically -- I did not want that kind of style. hope this helps!!

​@@ivyb. Thank you so much! I think I've made my choice:)) It will be exactly like yours - in bark leather. In fact, I think this type of leather is something new because 2-3 years ago YSL didn't have bags in bark leather. They had only in smooth leather and in croco-style. So, when I was considering buying the bag I worried about smooth leather (it looks great but I was not sure about durability as I plan to wear it very often, like everyday). And as regards croco-style, which is obviously more durable but I don't like this faux-leather glossy finish...like plastic in fact....So, I was actually surprised when came across on your video and saw a new type of leather, which looks as great as smooth leather but at the same time is more durable)))

I got the coated bark leather too, and I think it looks far better than the regular calfskin leather. It looks shinier and more dressy
