    I have one exactly like that in the picture. Been to the range a few times and unfortunately, I had to put down a rabid Coyote (that's another story), the Taurus did the job. There are 'gun experts' all over Y**tube who hate Taurus, I am not one of them. That said, I have had the 605 for four years and it has never let me down. Additionally, I only use 38 or +P cal ammo in it, I like the 357 mag capacity for a possible occasion when I may need a 357.
    If you have bags of disposable cash and looking for a more expensive status symbol self defense weapon then go for it. It won't do any better job than the Taurus.
    Keep it clean and oiled. I believe many problems people have with self defense weapons is a result of poor maintenance.

    • @Young_23
      @Young_23  Před 4 měsíci

      That’s insane. You live in a rural area? You have animals? Glad it helped you get the job done. And I agree! I’ve heard bad things about Taurus, but I’ve personally loved mine so far. I think I’ve had mine for 5ish years. I’ve carried it on me for around 3 now I think. It’s a solid, compact, potent fella. It seemed to have jammed on my in the last part of the vid, but I think it might have been that I didn’t close it fully. I think for self defense it’s great too. The capacity is low, but I guess that is why training is important. Make sure your shots go where they want them to be. I think I’d like to change the grip at some point. But thank you once again. Glad to hear you’re loving her 💯 and will definitely keep on the maintenance for it too. That’s a great point to applied to many things in life.

Kinda wish I had the black one instead the silver one looks amazing when polished but after a exercise of shooting it the gun powder is annoying to clean off the silver cylinder and very noticable were as a black revolver you can shoot as much as you want the gun powder on the cylinder wont be that noticable thus seems cleaner.

    Looks like an HKS 5 shot speedloader? I've been trying to shop around for a good speedloader that will work well for a 6 shot taurus 605 .38 special, but I'm reading that some of them dont fit well because of the rubber hand grip. Looks like you had no trouble at all though loading your cartridges

    • @Young_23
      @Young_23  Před 7 měsíci

      Honestly, I’ve had no issues with the grip. I’ve tried them out a few times, and they worked just fine. This is a 5 shot speed loader, so not sure if the diameter of the 6 shot speed loader is any different. They’re not expensive really, so I’d say you’d be fine trying one to get a feel for it. Again, at least in my experience, I’ve had no issues.

    What grips are those

    • @Young_23
      @Young_23  Před rokem +1

      Just the standard Taurus small frame rubber grip (with pin). My revolver is stock. But I’be been wanting to swap out the grip. Either the Pachmayr guardian grip (with retractable pinky extension) or the viridian red laser grip.
      What are you working with?

    • @gcmotorman6379
      @gcmotorman6379 Před rokem +2

      those groups are horrible and hurt your hand when you shoot it. I had to change the grips on mine. it's nowhere near as painful to shoot now. in fact it doesn't hurt a bit. when I first bought my 605 with those black grips I put 40 rounds through it at the range and my hands were killing me that night. of course they were already pretty worn down from working. so that doesn't help you much either. getting old sucks

      @Young_23  Před rokem

      @@gcmotorman6379 sorry to hear that man. Time definitely doesn’t pass in vain. But I can agree to your statement. The textured grip digs into your skin, especially with those .357 rounds. What grip did you use or would you recommend???

    How a accurate is it?

    • @Young_23
      @Young_23  Před 8 měsíci

      I think it mostly depends on the user. I’d say my skills are slightly below intermediate, but I’ve managed to shoot it accurately from a distance of 10 yards. That’s the distance I generally practice with.

    I took mine to the range and after about 40 rounds it started seizing up after the 4th shot .... I'm a over the road trucker never had a chance to address it..I guess I'll fix it when I get back one day

    • @Young_23
      @Young_23  Před 4 měsíci

      Did you keep up with maintenance? Oiling it? And only after the 4th shot? That’s sounds odd. I haven’t had any real issues with mine really. I think it jammed on me near the end of another vid I posted, but I think it was bc I didn’t close it fully. You should definitely have a look at it. Maybe it’s something simple. You never know. But if it’s worn out or defective, then that’s no fun. I’m guessing yours is out of warranty?
