"How To": 1999-2006 GMT800 4L60e Transmission Shift Linkage Bushing Replacement

- One of the common issues on the GMT800 lineup concerns the shift linkage bushing on the transmission. It is known to fail at any moment, making it impossible for you to change gears, put the truck in neutral, or even in park.
A temporary fix is to use a couple of zip-ties to hold the shift cable to the linkage, but again, this is purely a temporary fix. And while most corner auto parts stores will have linkage bushings, there really aren't any that truly work aside from those from BushingFix.com.
The job itself is incredibly simple to do, and all it takes is a small scribe tool to clean out the remains of the old bushing, and the replacement bushing kit.

I just did it for my 2006 Chevy Suburban 1500 and bought the part you said to get and it worked and it was quick and easy! Thanks for the informative video!
Glad it helped!
Same install and experience for me. 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. Thanks!
Thank you for your help
My column is stiff like it’s dirty. Any thoughts?
Do you think it would fit a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado? 🤔
How has it held up? I just installed mine and a bit weary of it.
9 months in and zero issues
Hopefully, this works on my 95 GMC C1500.
The rubber bushing on mine, doesn’t want to come out
