Horses can smell alcohol..they don’t like it. They have very intense hearing and sense of smell. They are smarter and better behaved sometimes than humans.
Though people with disgusting habits or reckless behaviour may be in the minority, surely No one can deny they can be a very possible threat to horses who are obviously exposed to them here on the street, as well as Soldiers and the public. ....and yet those in charge seem indifferent !!!!!!!!🇬🇧

We were taught that approaching a horse with a hand towards his face was threatening & will teach a horse to bite.What do we know.We are from Texas, USA. I am sure the people on the street know more.
These people are so disrespectful touching the guard they wouldn't go up to military guards on duty and touch them in their own country because they would be dealt with very quickly
Putting a hand to the horses mouth could be very dangerous! What if there is some kind of powder on that hand that might make the horse sick or even die! This world is full of evil and it could happen!

I notice how people adjust their attire to fit modern fashions. Lately it is better to see a tee shirt tucked in center of jeans, not hanging loosely. I see it over and over. Silly folk.
They are all Troopers , the ones on duty are in ceremonial uniforms chosen at morning inspection as they were immaculate , the ones in camo are on duty that day as stablemen can't muck out the horses in full uniform ! Red uniforms are the Lifeguards , dark blue are Blues and Royals both regiments of The Household Cavalry .
What if there was something horrible to happen? What would all this crowd go or do. I don't like crowds 'been to many bad incidents to happen happen to lots to people. What would happen herewith so many dumb tourists ?
Just disgusting behaviour have no respect for guards and horses. All a joke to the stupid tourists. The guards and horses are the world class. So stop the abuse. Love and respect the guards. Gets worrying when a crowd is around. More police out on the front

Some countries do not make personal hygiene or dental hygiene a priority regardless of their economic status. Pity the walking guards who stand frozen while hordes of obese, stinking tourists and locals with bad breath push in as close as the guards will allow, subjecting the guards to international communicable diseases, just so they can get a photo.
To be honest, I've seen tons of so-called "sober" people do much, much worse to these horses and guards. And no, I don't condone anyone that acts a fool.

The horses and riders have a lot to put up with and for the most part they carry it off extremely well with just the occasional outburst. I cringe when the hoards come through the gates, there should be crowd control to avoid the animals becoming overwhelmed.
