I had a similar encounter with a public school teacher. It’s hard for me to identify with any true victim I’ve ever been exposed to. There’s a lot of pain and trauma with them. I’m sort of nostalgic about it.

In the state that I lived in you could consent at 16 in Texas and so when I was in high school I met a man who was 39, a hole two decades my senior and once I turned 17 we got engaged and I moved in with him and stayed together till I was 19 and already graduated from high school… we didn’t break up till I turned 20 which was last year… we all good friends still though.

Why is there a bias towards these situations? The same rules and laws apply for men and women and should be legally enforced the same way. If a male teacher should be in jail for sleeping with an underage female student, the same should apply to a female teacher who sleeps with an underage male student. Simple as that.

She was highly unprofessional for having any contact with him at all. And as she stated, she disillusioned herself by saying she felt like she wasn't talking to a child. No matter how this gets flipped, the responsibility lies solely on her shoulders.

I don't know. A few days ago, it was enabled, then disabled again, then re-enabled. I guess they try to control comments from people who are outraged towards particular guests and minimize the backlash on them.
It's up to debate if they should; some of the guests are really shameless and criminally outrageous (for example, the guest in this video) in my opinion, and deserve all the shaming they receive and more.
But I understand the show's perspective, as they are in a way responsible for exposing them to the public, and want to minimize the chance some extremist takes this a step further than the comment section. Which, let's be real, is highly unlikely to happen from a total stranger, but still possible, thus it's wise of them to approach this with caution.
