- Another 3 plants to forage for in late summer/ August. Join me on a walk in the beautiful UK countryside as we walk a section of the Isle of Wight Coastal path in search of some delicious wild edibles.
I'll show you how to identify Sloes (Prunus Spinosa), Elderberry (Sambucus Nigra) and Broad Leaved Plantain (Plantago Major).

Thanks Shaun 🙏 New foraging video out tomorrow 🌱🍂🍁
August is far too early to pick sloes, that’s why they taste sour, October time is the best to pick and they’re not sour at all
Depends what you’re harvesting them for, if you’re harvesting them for the yeast colonies on their skins like me then August is as good a time as any.
Been using plantains dried in tea for years seems to be keeping pests away. Seem to sweat more though but mYbe that's just an age thing?!!
That’s a great idea! I guess I could always sweeten it with a little honey as well 🫖
