Best Latex In The World? The New Adidas URG 1.0 v 2.0 Grip Test

If you're like me you have noticed already that Adidas has silently dropped a whole new latex generation on us with the URG 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 models now replacing the evo zone tech latex that was used on the previous top models across the whole range of adidas goalkeeping gloves.
The URG 1.0 being the big drop because Adidas says it's their PRO level latex used by the likes of David De Gea in their matches and that it has UNRIVALED grip in the whole world. That's a pretty big statement and one that Adidas is more than able to back up..
So I put together an opening test to really see what the 1.0 latex can do compared to its 2.0 brother. What we found out was pretty cool!

As you know I have the URG 1.0. Great grip, only used them once so far, and they have already gone a funny pink colour.
I also ripped a couple of tiny bits out of the latex taking the plastic sheet off, so worth noting if you want to buy these the latex is crazy soft. Never felt anything like it, in 28 years as a goalkeeper.
Jim Buckley can’t imagine the 1.0s on turf after one game if they are that soft🤦♂️

I have the 2.0 and they are amazing. You hadn’t reviewed them but I guessed they were good cause I had the older predator and they were also amazing but they got stolen so I got the 2.0. Amazing review can’t wait till the next one.

I am a young goalkeeper who can make high diving saves . But because of diving my right hip hurts a lot as I play on a ground which is a bit hard. I applied ice pack on my hip but i do not see any reduction in pain. What should I do?????? I am unable to even run when the pain starts.

So I try the first version of the predator pro with more than 6 months and it can hold the ball without wearing the glove (the experiment that you do between 1.0and2.0)

I don‘t know whether you can important these... but you do have to test the Alien Pro from T1TAN. It‘s a very reliable company from Germany and they make imo the best grip on the market. I believe you should give them a shot :)

Is there much difference in the grip, the 1.0 are well above the 2.0 or is a minimum difference in your opinion? And with what would they stay?
Huge difference in grip between the 1.0 and 2.0 but it isn't necessary imo. The 2.0 does a good enough job for the work load

I need some advice. I’m a very short keeper, 5’7”, and even though when I dive I can reach the entire goal it seems like I never have time to get to the ball. My positioning is usually pretty good. What can I do to help this?

For a top level glove it's decent with its durability I would jump on that price

Match days only, honestly only for a tournament or even just one big match they lose a lot of grip very quickly

@@ARSGoalkeeping since reusch has been doing the negative but with a smaller strap this glove has a negative cut with a strap like the older models and the grip and durability so far have been good and they go for 90 aud

I either give them away to the keepers that I train or I put them in a box for later
How long would you say these gloves would last you?? I know you said in the video maybe half a season but is that with everyday use or what? Also can you can keep these gloves in great shape
the 1.0s would be lucky to last 3 weeks of everyday training, you could use them until they fall to pieces but I would recommend going with the 2.0 version it lasts much longer and you can take care of them

Its between the tuto secutor and the puma 19.1, I haven't used the new pumas yet but the tuto is a decent pair

Hey alberto, what gloves do u think are the best for matches from nike, adidas. Would appreciate anyones opinion
Nike- I had the SGT pros and was happy with the durability for about 5 months of use 3-4 times a week. The grip was tacky for the first few weeks with no spitting or pouring water on them but then I had to start to wet them. This is normal in my experience.
Adidas- most recently I had the predator pros before the URG grip, and they lasted me 3 months with more use than I did with the SGTs. The grip started getting less and less tacky after the first week and I needed to wet them heavily before any use
I love the negative cut on the predator but the grip on the SGTs was much better. If I were to choose between the two I'd definitely go with the predators again just because of the cut and in addition they now have the URG latex which I'm eager to try.
Aiden B thank you very much for your reply. I got the predator pros urg 1 (the promo version). The grip is the best, but the durability is awful. For me, the fit was good, but not the best because i had some negative space on my fingers (especially the two middle ones).
Edit: i have negative spave only because my fingers are extremely thin. I dont think most people are going to have negative space

Do you observe any degradation in grip when it is wet? When this gloves and the football is in wet condition, is it still able to catch the ball by one hand?
Damp no problem but super wet conditions were the glove is soaked I wouldnt expect it to do well the latex is so soft it would absorb too much water
@@ARSGoalkeeping When the gloves is damped, I found that the grip is degraded a lot when catching the Adidas match ball (obviously from WC18 match ball). Actually I believe that it is not the latex issue, it seems that it is the properties of the material of the Adidas match ball. Do you have similar finding?

Check out my how to improve diving and weak side in my playlists! It covers a few drills I run with my keepers when they need help work that technique on both sides
The 3 test is not fair, because the 2.0 has more products in their latex, is vital to wash then first to get the whole grip. I have done that test with old gloves after wash them, and they pass the test... brands like EgoSports (MS1)

If only these gloves were durable, thats why uhlsport is perfect in almost every aspect, been using mine for 2 seasons and still has some grip left
