As a teacher myself, I must say you do a very good job explaining things. Reason I'm here is because I have a couple of educational app ideas that I have not seen apps do....after much research. So I want to learn the basics, so when I find the person that will help me get it going, at least I can communicate with him/her and understand what we're doing.
So happy that you're learning with us, Mauricio! The best is yet to come for you! :) -Arthur
Chris you are doing great , many thanks for your helpful lessons . I used the skills you taught me to make my graduation project. Keep it up 👍
Wow, awesome! Advanced happy graduation! We're proud of you! :-) -Arthur
I just wanted to say I'm CWC+ member and I want to thank Chris for responding and helping fast. Also after 3 years of dropping out finally I started to code for pleasure and actually being creative on my own. I know I will hit the wall at some point, but if I could come out of tutorial purgatory with your help ,everybody can. Cheers() { lol}
Your comment made our day, Ewa! This is really inspiring. Yes, we are all on different journeys of learning. Some learn easily, some take a while to take in new information. But it's all meant to be challenging, fun, and rewarding. We appreciate that you're still learning with us, Ewa! Keep on enjoying! -Arthur
Thank You, Chris! I successfully finished this series from you! I'm a beginner and this series was perfect for me!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH👍👍
Massive congrats! Happy new year to you indeed. Keep on going!
@@CodeWithChris you saw my comment!!!
Thanks Chris for making videos for people like me who's just getting started learning swift via xcode
That's the goal! To make iOS app development a fun experience even to those who have programming background. Thanks for the support! :-) -Arthur
Hi Chris! This is a great initiative. Excited to watch the whole series. 😊
Yay, we're so grateful to have you around, Omair! Enjoy the ride! :-) -Arthur
Chris we need more videos on working with user data, FireBase, DyanamoBD, UserDefaults, filtering data, searching data... not more card games and especially not any SwiftUI, unless it’s how to integrate SwiftUI with existing storyboard apps. We need videos that teach us how to further understand the components of apps we’ve already built. For example the GuideBook app can be much more detailed in terms of how to do operations using UserDefaults.
Thanks for this very valuable suggestion. We're slowly working towards adding more content. Thanks for your support and patience! :-) -Arthur
I've found other firebase series on CZcams which are great
To his defense, that's less app development and more software engineering in general. Definitely plenty of tutorials on what you listed that you would need to follow, and integrating it from there shouldn't be too much of an issue.
This is the most helpful thing I’ve found on the net so far. Thanks Chris.
I have what I hope is a great idea for a mind hacking/programming app but have no idea how to begin so this is really appreciated!!!

I don't have many time, like only a hour per week for my hobby, but I think it is worth to try programming and exact this language and seems like this course should be exact place where to start, or at least I hope this is the exact place to start :)

I work at an IT infrastructure company since 2020 April, but I would also like to learn programming because it seems creative and cool as you can make your own apps. I hope to be able to make my own apps or websites by learning programming on my own. For me, it also seems attractive if I could be a freelance and be able to work from wherever I want. I think usually in IT-related jobs it is relatively easy to work from home, so I like that aspect, too.
Thanks for sharing your insights! :-) You got this! -Arthur
Hi Chris, love these support vids, up till now I've been using an app builder but I'd like to take control and learn coding with X Code, thing is, that's not the problem, the problem for me has been that the App Store has not accepted my apps (educational support apps) citing imbalance of functionality and links. How can learning X Code get around this issue? Many thanks
"Hello, it might be because your app does not conform to apple's guidelines.. i suggest checking out our community forum and ask around maybe they can help site what are the changes you need to do to your app for it to be accepted to the app store.. head on over to codecrew.codewithchris.com

@@CodeWithChris Thanks so much!
Hi Chris, thanks for the tutorial.
However I have a question/favour to ask: could you make a tutorial for a kinda 3d app, with parametric options. My idea is that you could control box width, height and length just by inputting values, and the results (quick render) seamlessly shows up on the screen. Is it something Swift can do, or am I on the wrong path? I know that you can create something similar with the help of Unity 3d, but I was hoping that I would be able to create a 3D app using Xcode and maybe Swift??
Can you reply, would much appreciate it! 🙏🏻
Thanks!!

Hi Chris I have a question that can I use my iPad (swift playgrounds) to do this? Cause swift ui has been released on it
Hello, you really need a Mac computer to build iOS apps. Using an iPad won't work/be enough. Thanks for dropping by! -Arthur
Hi, thank you for these videos. I have two questions: 1. What's the difference between this video series and the series you did in 2019? 2. Can I share the finished app with friends/family without publishing the app in the App Store? I would like to create an app as a birthday present for a friend :)
"Hello, this is basically the same tutorial but its now made using SwiftUI (its like apples new language starting from ios 13 and above) it will probably eventually replace the old way on creating an app using UIKit
you can make an app and not publish it as a free developer but you need to install the app directly to her phone, or your phone, it will then stay there and be usable for 7 days, or until you install it again

I have OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan and downloaded XCode 8.2. Do I have to buy a new mac before it would make sense to do this course? Obviously my laptop is extremely old and I imagine a lot of the Swift UI features will probably not be available.
Hi, Matthew, try to buy a Mac with the biggest RAM that you can possibly afford. Even second-hand units will do. Xcode takes up a lot of space, so it's best to have a Mac with lots of storage. All the best! :-) - Arthur

Hello Chris, I av been tring to download the Xcode on my Apple Laptop but the reply i always get is i cant download th app on my laptop bcos i need 11.05 ios space or something is ther any lower version of Xcode i can download on 2011 apple laptop

we created a ""hack"" for it before but its a bit old.. you can change it to another version of Xcode though the concept will be the same

Hi Chris, I have an app that I made on android, I have now switched back to an iphone 12 and want to recreate the app for iphone.
It is very specific to my own google sheets using some google app script. My question is, can I make this app and install it on my iphone without having it on the app store. I don't think anyone else will use it and to make it usable for other people would be too complicated due the the google sheets app scripts. Thanks for any help.
