  • Isn't it obvious I love my Kindle Paperwhite? I am so pleased with this that I am not even considering getting a new one at all. Your question, "Should I buy a Kindle?" was hopefully answered here.

    Library cards. Get a card to every library you can find. I haven’t paid for a book in years.

      Great idea! I have a couple library cards, maybe I can get more. The downside is waiting for your turn to borrow 😅

    I absolutely LOVE my Kindle Paperwhite so much because it makes things easier for me. I don’t have to go to the bookstore to purchase a book, it’s convenient for me to have a lot of books with me at once, it saves space, and also I don’t have to worry about carrying a thick book with me on the go. ❤❤❤❤

    Such a nice review. I love my Paperwhite, too soo much. One question: Do you have a protection shield on your display attached to protect it from scratches? I am wondering if I should do or not. Thanks.

      I don’t have a case for my kindle but I DO have a screen protector. I’m quite carefree when I travel with it, so I want to protect the screen from scratches :)

    You don't really have to spend money on books because you can get them from the library. However, I do think it is convenient and easier especially for me because I tend to read books that are a thousand plus pages.

    • @EmyEleni
      @EmyEleni  Před 9 měsíci

      I agree! The library is of course a great resource for free books but my libraries has 8-12 week wait times to borrow the books I want to read😅 I’m happy for them! But I can’t wait that long lol.

    • @reneeboyd80
      @reneeboyd80 Před 9 měsíci

      @EmyEleni , I feel you at the convenience of reading it right away.
      The libraries also do digital downloads for those who still want to save money. There can still be a wait list because they only do so many digital copies.

    Quick question. I do have an IPad 9th gen and I have the Kindle app. Is there any difference between using the kindle app vs the official kindle device? Thanks!

    • @EmyEleni
      @EmyEleni  Před 3 měsíci

      I would say it depends on you. The kindle app is great and can be accessed on any device but I prefer reading off the kindle because it’s truly meant for reading. I can’t describe it, but for me the reading experience is better on the kindle versus iPads. Up to you :)

    Hello, why don't you simply use your smartphone or an android tablet? I think you can do so much more with a tablet so I don't understand the purpose of a Kindle.

    • @EmyEleni
      @EmyEleni  Před 10 měsíci +13

      This is also something I considered before getting a kindle! I guess it just comes down to preference.
      The user experience is different with the Kindle. Bigger screen, no glare on the screen, and less distractions to name a few. Sometimes when I use my phone I get distracted and scroll on other apps. Once I got it, I understood the hype :)

    • @andrea-kc5fr
      @andrea-kc5fr Před 10 měsíci +10

      I got one simply because it cuts on distractions. Every time I tried to read on my phone or ipad I’d get distracted with notifications from social media, CZcams, Spotify and more. Since the kindle can only be used for reading, it’s easier to stay focused. The battery life also lasts substantially longer than a phone or tablet, so you can read for longer if you’d like as well :) it all comes down to preferences and what works best for the individual.

      I got one to avoid eye strain. already have a tablet and used to read on my phone when I was outside but I couldn’t read more than a few hours in a day and ended up with headaches that lasted until the next day too sometimes. having an e-reader is a must imo if you’re mainly a digital reader

    • @pcoleman2562
      @pcoleman2562 Před 7 měsíci +2

      I agree with all the other comments. But I feel like adding more detail, because I had this same question until I actually saw a kindle. And then I looked into why it looks so different from other screens. Phones and ipads use LED screens, they are constantly emitting light and also constantly refreshing faster than the eye can perceive, which causes eye strain. Kindles and most other e-readers typically use e-ink. Which does not refresh until you turn the page. The light is a static backlight that doesn't refresh. And you can turn the light off fully (I prefer this). Then the page will look like a regular page from a paper book. No eye strain at all, it reads just like a regular book.

    Not sure why you say reading is an expensive hobby and you needed to spend $100\month buying new books when you can get books for free from the library?

    • @lydjoy3385
      @lydjoy3385 Před 8 měsíci +1

      a lot of people tend to buy books, instead of borrowing them from the library. i personally got sucked into that mentality for a year because i was on social media

      When I was going to my library a lot(mind you, it's been years), I ran out of books I was actually interested in, and there was a lot they just didn't carry. I read a lot and I like certain aspects of digital reading, like how it will say how long it takes to read each book. I still enjoy paperbacks but for me digital is cheaper, faster to get and more portable.

    • @saturn6563
      @saturn6563 Před 7 měsíci

      Because if you use a library so often there’s going to be a period in time where there’s nothing interesting for you to read. There could also be too long of waiting times to read the book you want to read.
