I am so envious of you being able to swap books, mentally. I'm also a mood reader, but I'm also a "you must finish your current book before you can start another book" girly
I’m not sure how it is when you or others read but when I do, it’s like a movie or tv show in my head and that’s how I treat my books, I don’t watch one show or movie all the way through sometimes and that’s how I read. One day I’m in the mood for a mystery, the next day a rom com etc etc. Try that and see if it works…
I also find that the font being consistent in style and size across all books is helpful with the reading speed. Your brain doesn't have to make that slight shift between one book and the other every time.
Amazon will take the Ad’s off for free. I’ve had them removed at least 3 times.

I have loved my new kindle! Thank you for sharing. I also hate ruining my books by dragging them around with me everywhere for them to go unread, this has been such a great purchase.
Great review. Been loving my new Paperwhite too. It was a gift from my spouse so I wouldn’t have to keep struggling with small fonts on books. I just finished Fourth Wing as my first book on this kindle and now will try your rec of how does it feel. Fantasy and romance are some of my favs.
To answer the question about covers, I just have the basic Amazon black cover that came with the kindle as a bundle package. It was a gift so I’m not picky 😃 It has the flip front cover that covers the screen when it’s closed but also turns on the kindle when I open the cover and off when I close it again. Very handy. Plus I’m a bit clumsy so I tend to drop technology so having that front protection for the screen is a must! I find I’m used to the extra weight so I never take the cover off.

about the ads u talked about, i dont have any on my kindle and never have, i dont know why? im not sure if i disabled it somehow on my setup or something because i watched lots of kindle tips before getting mine lol. but id definitely tell you to give that a look!
i saw someone talking about setting your kindle to show the cover of the book ur reading and thats what i did. my kindle is gen 11 btw!
If you’re in Canada, you don’t get ads
i had the ads removed without paying, just talk to one of their customer service employee and ask if they can remove it for you, just tell them the ads are bothering you or something. it worked for me, they removed it without me having to pay. 😂

Good points. May I ask: Do you have a protection shield on the display in addition to your cover? I love my Paperwhite but am a bit scared that the display is sensitive to get scratches quite easily
no, i don’t have a screen protector on it. i haven’t experienced any scratches on it yet though🥴
Also- Instead of buying ebooks for your kindle, rent them from your library! It's an easy download and it's FREE!!

I would say that if you want to invest in a kindle, get the one with NO ADS! I love my kindle!
You get used to the lag. It doesn’t even phase me anymore
You don't have to see the ads. I have changed the settings on mine to show the cover of the book I'm currently reading. I would definitely check and see if you have that feature!
That’s only available on specific models. For the paperwhite, you have to have the signature edition to be able to set it to show the cover of the book.
Your kindle needs to be ad free to show the book cover tho
man dang. and here I thought I was being helpful. I clearly don't know which model I bought then. 😅
You can ask customer service to take the ads off for free. At least, they did that for me! I guess it just depends how nice you are in chat and how the representative is feeling that day.

Sometimes mine won't connect either to the store so I just restart my Kindle and then it will reconnect

Do you use a screen protector? I like the magnet inside the folio case idea, but I'm worried it'll scratch the screen😬
I don't! I honestly didn't even think about that. So far it hasn't scrattched the screen, but I think I may get a screen protector just in case.
bestie you don't even need to highlight the words. If you have word wise turned on (I think that's what its called), it will automatically log every word you view the definition of + organises it into flashcards to review later. Idk why more people don't talk about it!!
Its E- ink, it will never be instant.

The store on the Kindle is not great. It is much easier to browse on a PC and send the books to your library. TBH, the whole UI needs to be redesigned - it is clunky and things shift with each update...
E-ink screens cannot be as fast as led screens lmao..that's the whole point of a kindle.. you trade off speed for a screen that doesn't strain your eyes
