He was known for his music, grand theft auto, drug binges and stints in jail. At the height of Paycheck’s fame, he shot a man over a turtle soup recipe, which led to a high-profile trial, a prison sentence and one of his greatest hits, “Old Violin.”

I am from Lynchburg, about 10 miles from where this shooting happened. My uncle actually brought a guitar to him while he was in jail and had it autographed.
Unfortunately my uncle was a bit of a partier like Johnny was and pawned it before I could get it.
Great show. They need to bring back.
So. What I gather from this mainly is that Johnny Cash, on top of everything else, was a rascally genius.

I was playing drums for DAVID ALLAN COE from 89-1994 We went into the OHIO STATE PRISON and did a show while JOHNNY PAYCHECK was incarcerated there, It was the first time D.A.C.& J.P. sang TAKE THIS JOB AÑD SHOVE IT together, D.A.C. wrote the song& J.P. had a hit with the song, it was quite an exspirerence
Paycheck was also a good writer. In addition to many songs he recorded Paycheck also wrote hits for others including Apartment #9 by Tammy Wynette and Once You’ve Had the Best, written with and for George Jones.

The “pain” of a soft easy life. It’s that they, the people, don’t have purpose. Food is very very plentiful. 300 lbs poor people. That’s a great Country & economic system. Our poor have cell phones, $250 cable packages& big guts & butts. Many have those things & don’t work.
