    When I type 8000mm for that top wall on the plan, the line goes well off the page. Is there any way to scale the whole page so that when I move the cursor the measurement increases in greater amounts.

    • @CADinblack
      @CADinblack  Před 8 lety +6

      Hi +Jeff Smith ! I am not sure if I understood your question but when you draw a line that goes off the page, you can type: "Z" (zoom) and then "A" (all). By doing this you will see all your drawings. Try that

    • @aienhance

      I faced the same problem too. It happens because you have used the
      command "line" instead of "Poly Line". Try typing PL and then add the
      value, i hope it solves the problem. :)

    • @CADinblack
      @CADinblack  Před 6 lety

      Hello +ruffomaldito. Autocad is adimentional. You can type 5 and it can mean what you want. It can be meters, milimeters, kilometers, etc.. Depends what kind of drawing you are working on.
      Only when you print, you have to set up the scale of the paper to fit there

    Hi, in 6:45 minute of your video you start to draw inside rooms. You start drawing by hovering mouse pointer over the point till become a green cross and then you write the value of 4250 and your line starts to appear from right distance. Sometimes I can draw a line from right point but many other times my line appears in a thousand different places and I don't know what I am doing wrong? I am using DraftSight but it is a very similar program. Please tell me if you know?

    • @CADinblack
      @CADinblack  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi +Anna Pasierka. For cases like this, you have to make sure the there is a green dashed line and the label extension there. Sometimes, it doesn't work if you have some offset points active, for example nearest. Sometimes when I zoom in a lot the drawing, and I try to do this, the offset is highlights midpoints or endpoints instead of the extension. So my solution, is to deactivate temporarily the modes you don't need, or you can draw temporary lines for support to your drawing. I don't know DraftSight, but if it is similar try to do this I told you above. good luck

    Drawing the 2nd and 3rd rooms you just went right by it (not dimensions given). I had to eyeball and guesstimate what dimensions they were. Other than that your tutorial was good.

      Yes, you are right +vantha doun. When I made the video my intention was just to give tips how to draw faster, not as an exercise. As some people wanted to practice this drawing, I uploaded a version with the measurements to practice. By the way I found a couple of confusing dimensions on the file, so I corrected them now.
      Here you can find it :)
