exactly and the material they were made of was not NEAR as flexible as the ones we use today so if they had the same actual cards as he had they would rip it apart like nothing apart from Brian because his hands are gigantic
There might be a "trick" (or rather technique) to it as well.
Just like tearing phone books, you can't just start pulling on the pages. You have to angle the book in a certain way.

If anyone doubts this, there is
historical footage of a strongman ripping two decks. Video is titled "strong man (1944)" and is under the channel "british pathe." Three decks is not too far of a stretch after seeing the video.
I imagine the technique would be similar to tearing a phone book in half, it's not hard if you know how to do it.
But way less room to grip and use muscle so it's harder than a phone book tbh

Phone books are easy, I've done them. Cards might be more difficult like above said because you can't grip them as well.

Cards are a good bit more difficult in my opinion. There is technique to it. But the technique is not as effective as phonebook tearing.

I had a friend that ripped a 3 inch yellow pages in half (just like Rob did with the 3 packs of cards). This was in 1981. He used to also tear quarters in half.
I couldn't believe it, when he did it. His grip is (was ) super human.

Rip a deck of cards in half is an insane feat of overwhelming ability no-one could possibly doubt AND will never ever be forgotten. I feel like I should begin training now.

It's crazy to think that in the same amount of impressive time Nick took to tear a single deck of cards, John Brookfield would've torn over 50 decks without breaking a sweat.
He's by far the card tearing GOAT. He's inspired me to get into it but I use Dennis Rogers' style

I think perhaps only Nick knew the proper technique of tearing cards. The rest were trying to use brute strength which is harder than strenth and technique alone.
