    You motivate me so much I'm not your level and quite a bit older but I do indeed love Mts biking. Now here on the east coast it's nothing like out West. I want to come ride some of those trails I hope soon. I'm on the edge of the North GA just about an hour from the Mts. So it's very hilly and more rooty with some rocks here and there. I did a ride today in some nice Fall weather. I cleared some items today that were maybe one step above my skills - that's a great ride when you do it and clear items that you may not otherwise w/o any crashes or sudden bail outs. Wes

    Man I'm so glad I subscribed to this channel, these trails look so fun and beautiful ! I was wondering if you have to watch out for dangerous animals in these parts of the world ? I know in europe you pretty much never have to worry about that kind of things but I guess it's different in the U.S.

    • @bkxc
      @bkxc  Před 8 lety +10

      People worry about bears a lot, but ever bear I've run into was super scared of me and ran off. There are mountain lions as well, but you're most likely to hurt yourself riding.

    • @RyanBoardman234s
      @RyanBoardman234s Před 8 lety +3

      Animal attacks are very rare, but they can happen. When I was in downieville I met someone who got attacked by a bear while on a ride, and she had some gnarly scars on her arm to show for it. I know two guys that got chased by a mountain lion. Poisonous snakes can also pose a threat, as rattle snakes are common in the hills around my house. But I never try to worry about those things, just enjoy the ride and being in the beautiful outdoors.

    • @bkxc

    Damn Colorado looks awesome! Those drops look a little too gnarly to do alone though. I'd worry about breaking something and not being able to get help. I recently bought a digital tire pressure checker and realized my hand test was about ~8 psi off. I was ridding with a lot less pressure than I thought. For me it was a ride I kept burping out air that made me decide I need to check my tire pressure before each ride. Sucks you bent that rim.

    Your Mail carrier was most likely a Pueblo Indian, not a mountain biker. Kokopelli is a venerated character in the mythology of several SW tribes. Kokopelli brings the rain, turns into animals, and plays tricks on you. He became popular in the 80s, as the country began a cultural fascination with the American Indian Movement and tribes like the Navajo and the Taos

    Great channel! I've watched your reviews of the Mojo, Spider 275, and 5010. I'm trying to decide which bike in that catagory to get. Looking to spend $3000ish before I go visit my cousin in Fruita. Keep on riding with the rubber side down, you rock 🤘

    I'm so stoked that Fall is finally here. I'll still go out and ride if is around 100 degrees, but I go through water +electrolytes quickly. It beats sitting inside all summer. I see you learned the trick to riding in the heat... don't stop. As an aside, I noticed you gave a quick greeting to the rider you passed, but it seems you usually edit out people/strangers who start to get into frame before they get close. Is there a reason for this? (Them not wanting to be on CZcams?) Do you usually greet or stop & chat w/ folks off camera? Have you had people recognize you, yet, from your channel? (Other than Neil Donoghue - that was sweet, btw)

    • @bkxc
      @bkxc  Před 8 lety

      Fall is gonna be sweet! I edit out my interactions because it never looks right on video. It looks like I am hauling ass when I'm in complete control. I'm all about proper etiquette!

    • @bkxc
      @bkxc  Před 8 lety +1

      Yes! I was wearing the red & white BK-XC shirt today and a few people that I've only known online recognized me before I could recognize them! Actually ran into a ton of people, it was really cool to feel like I'm breaking in and making connections.

    2:50 That's that same brutal descent that I saw in one of Nate Hills videos (which he and his buddy cleaned no problem of course). I'm almost positive I'd be walking the latter half of it as well. A trip to the ER would cut your weekend short real quick.
