I used to attract them. Low self esteem, desperation, not knowing what you want, feeling like things have to be equal and you have to pay your part, not wanting to depend on a man, too independent, and unresolved trauma attracts users and abusers. Once I changed that I attracted men who want to give to me. Men who did not want to or who wanted to be chased automatically left me alone.
I used to attract woman beaters because I was too nice. But after fighting a few of them I learned. Now my fighting skills are pretty good!

I realized the younger me did this by ignoring giant red flags as things I could "fix". I tried to fix for my parents so it was a natural transition. You can't fix anything, now I run at the first "woe is me" story lol If a man(or a woman) don't have it together they shouldn't even be trying to date...next. Currently working on improving. Subconscience programming. Some of us had abusive parent. It takes until adulthood to realize that you're attracting emotional abusers. All of the men I've dated were always very successful, like my dad. Ive always been the prize in my mind and have had to cut these men off over and over again. Its difficult. Even after years and years of research and self work, it happens. Then leveling up as I've always done, has left me in a world with no one. Been single over 10 years . I am yet to meet a man that I think is worthy of my hand. My standards were always high.
But maybe you are also afraid or still feel you lack skills. Dating it's not easy, it takes a lot of commitment, Shera went out everyday. Maybe at 20 I would have do it, but now just the thought bore me.

A neighbour was trying and trying to use me, we lived in the same building, will run into each other at the building gym, he was always after me. I always ignored him because he never ask me out, just tried to get me into his apartment for "wine*, which I never went. One day he approached me at the pool, and just plain demanded I give a massage to him, I said "sure, it's going to cost you 2k", he was so offended!!!! I was appalled that he was offended, I was going through some hard times, and I suspected he was a dusty that thought of himself as the price, but he was so insisting always with me, that I actually thought he might perhaps have friend (without benefits) potential. It was so lame that I interacted with him for so long on common areas, not long interactions, but he did use me. After that I decided, that the next neighbour that approaches me like that, I'm asking for stuff since the first interaction, and if he refuses, then he can just go ! Won't be used and tricked ever again !
