Yes, the perfume build was patched, but the ancient dragon lightning strike and impenetrable thorns build are still equally as powerful and honestly stronger than the perfume build ever was. So if you're looking to emulate this run on your own, copy those builds instead.

They are stronger, and From don't have any reason to patch them, because unlike the perfume build where the AoW behaved in a manner From didn't expect when aimed at the ground, the lighting strike and impenetrable thorns builds are just really clever buff stacking
Hit 27k on the elden beast with ADLS with just golden vow and lightning shrouded cracked tear back in 2022. Still hitting the same amount if not more today, lightning incants are absolutely insane
What are the stats for the ancient dragon lightning build?
@@ABagOfRadiation golden order seal+10 max faith and int will put incantation scaling a good bit above 400, those are the only two stats that this seal scales w and that's the one I use for my incantations on this char. Ik there's one to enhance ancient dragon cult incantations but after fucking around w it I think golden order seal is the way to go. Other than that I don't even have buffs beside golden vow and lightning shrouded cracked tear. Wear heavy armour so your poise let's you tank a hit or two while fully charging ancient dragon's lightning strike and you're pretty much an unstoppable AoE force
I love the catharsis of being challenged by the DLC myself, then coming to Bushy to watch the bosses be humiliated with a single hit.
and dozen of hours of planning, collective mind with twitch, bunch of attempts every time, tools to plan...
What he did is harder than just finishing the DLC, it is what makes this video cool, the amount of work done.

@@NizzyLDright so if you just got a basic strong build (which is much easier then all of this) and just fought the bosses it would probably take way less time overall and be easier as a result. If it takes longer it usually means it was harder.
They played the game and immediately strategized the most.optimal ways to do this. It's a lot of work
@@moussesucreeYou can just go 50% of the way; everyone knows to optimize talisman, optimize weapon and which OP spells to use, that’ll 2 shot everything basically, which is far easier than what he did, but also far easier than a regular playthrough. Nonetheless, a regular first playthrough is about 25-35 hours, I’m sure this took less than that
The Torrent tech dodge for Gaius might be the nuttiest thing in the run
It was cool, but I respectfully disagree. The whole buffing sequence is pretty wild. Plus, torrent mount is used pretty frequently in fire giant.

Worth noting that the reward you get from the Igon quest from doing it normally, from the dragon priestess, boosts ancient dragon incants by I think like 20%. It does demand you be naked, though, and I'm not sure how well it would fit into the buff routine.
Additional problem: to get that buff you need to beat Bayle first. And Ancient Lightning Strike is only needed against Bayle, as we saw. So once you have that buff, there's really nobody to use it on.

@@lubue5795 You can get an alternative one from doing the "Domain of Dragons" painting which doesn't require defeating Bayle and afaik gives the same buff

Also a note: Not a oneshot, strictly, but the hammer you get from her removes lightning resistances with its art

Just so you are aware, the rolling thunder was not nerfed. It was a glitch that caused it to explode on the floor. I tested it on Bayle after the patch to see what type of damage I could get. Without a fully optimized build, without full on min/maxing I was able to get 56k damage from one attack. They only fixed the attack so you lock on and attack closely so the attack passes through their body. It will only work on larger bosses for that amount of damage. Smaller ones I could only get 30k. That's with 80 faith/dex and level 20 scadutree, bloodsucking and lightning tear, perfumes talisman, lightning scorpion talisman, Alexander shard and dragoncrest greatshield talisman. Also wore Rakshasa armor for he extra damage.
I'm certain there's a better way to optimize the build and buffs that I didn't use.
Did you use any incantations or other buffs?
@Pitchfallis I used golden vow, erdtree blessing and flame grant me strength. Those are the only buffs I use aside from the crystal tears.
@@Batman_83 Would Flame do anything for you beside the stam regen? Since perfume is neither fire nor physical, seems like Howl would be the better Body buff since you're going for a glass cannon build anyway.
@jarlhenrik Yes howl is better for it. I learned that after I had switched builds. I know the build I had was not optimized. I believe there's better buffs than golden vow but I'm not very good at figuring all that out very easily.
The fix just made the particles vanish when hitting terrain, but they still go trough enemies so a big enough enemy will get hit by all the puffs anyway.
From experience, the worst part of doing stuff like this is doing all the buffs again after dying 😅

btw, the death knight armour set increases damage of the dragon incantations, the lightning ones, so beating bayle could have been easier if you had equipped that
Not worth the risk. He's using the Royal remains armor so that the blood sucking cracked tear doesn't kill him first. Death armor 8% vs Crystal tears 20%

@@LordRazer3 but he didn’t use the royal remains set for Midra, instead using the Alerich set for the extra damage, so just do the same, in fact, its easier since Bayle doesn’t have the weird pre-phase that midra had, so thats more time until the damage kills him
@@skeletonwar4445 There also vary predictable bosses in the start Balye is not and when your on a timer consistency is key. He's already playing with RNG because of how the lightning works so adding on having to do it in 10 seconds is again to risky. If it makes you feel better I'm positive he would haven ended up using the armor if he couldn't get the kill in a dozen try's. Think of it there's a reason he didn't just come out of the gate using the blood sucking cracked tear because it was unnecessary overkill

For the final one, there's an additional buff that I didn't see any mention of:
The Death Knight armor set buffs Ancient Dragon Cult incantations by 2% per piece, meaning you get a free 8% dmg increase on Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike by using it instead of the healing armor.
There is a pretty well hidden talisman called “Dried Bouquet” which gives you a 20% to attack power when a summon dies, it’s efficient with the skeletal militiaman could be a nice addition to the buffs.
I dont think it would count as oneshots if some of the summons got a few hits in

Also i dont think the effect procs until they are perma dead. So using a weaker summon that doesn't get back up would be more efficient.

I was wondering when Bushy would upload so I could completely fathom this build after seeing Tor somewhat use it in his past 2 videos you've taught him well bushy, I could only imagine the amount of time it took to discover these builds but this vid is proof they're worth it. Entertaining video as always ! Quick note on the final build against bayle, there is a actually an armor set called the "Death Knight Set" which boosts dragon cult incants and skills by around 2% per piece, there is also the Dragon Priest form you get from using the Priestess Heart which grants a whopping 20% boost to Dragon Cult Incants (althought this might be a body buff not quite sure).
Edit : Priestess Heart is locked behind bayle and that completely missed my mind lol.

well to be fair the dlc fragments do provide like a 2x buff over normal numbers so that should help a significant amount.

Little funfact about the perfume build. I used it to try it's big damage before patch 1.12.3 and since I missed some of the items to do a proper one shot build I simply used everything I had without searching out other stackable buffs (I'm lazy). Doing so I found out that somehow the commander's stendard buff messes up with the aow of the perfume bottles and makes his hit box bugged, the rolling sparks aow simply does not hit the enemy for some reason
With all the testing, I watched a lot of these during the stream. I'm eager to watch them again and see the ones I missed. I appreciated how committed each supervisor was.
Didn't know you could use a crystal dart on those imps for the snowfield tower. I've always had the imp summons for that.
You can use darts in the new smithing golems too!
for some reason crystal darts cause malfunctions in certain enemies
@@skungillian91 its hinted at in the descriptions, iirc its because the use the same material as their core as the crystal daggers so adding more makes is malfunction
I absolutely love seeing Bushy get stuck and then coming up with a new build or way to optimize the damage. Loved seeing the Midra boss, it’s shit like that that makes me watch these. Great stuff!

Ancient dragon lightning cheese is something that just keeps surviving patches. It's been there since the beginning, and it will be there when the last person uninstalls the game. We lost the perfume, but we never needed it to begin with.

@@TheSilentHeel I mean I beat her on my third try but it could have just been because I was using the iron balls and had enough scadutree fragments. The fragments make more sense because I fought rellana after the pink centipede boss (I don't remember her name lol.)
Just a little minor correction around the white mask and Lord of blood buffs percentage, yes by they’re own white mask is 10% and Lord of blood is 20% however when you have both equipped it’s 32% because buffs are multiplicative, 1.2x1.1 = 1.32
I understand, but I did not say they combine for 30%. I said they do 10% and 20% respectively.

the ancient dragons' lightning strike could've been further buffed by the priestess heart and combined with blue dancer's charm to get it more consisten because the priestess heart buffs ancient dragon cult incantations and you need to have no armor on to use it. And additional use of the heart while it's active will provide a 1 minute buff.
You can only get the heart after bayle, but the death knight set could have helped him
Blue Dancer only buffs physical damage not spell damage.

Just adding my two cents for anyone trying this build. The Madding Hand and Poison Hand both proc a stacking Black Dumpling/Mushroom Crown effect respectively and the buff maintains if you put them away after proccing. Plus they each only weigh 1lb.
Man, I love the giant crusher. It's always on standby with my strength build for when I just need a huge burst of damage to take out annoying non-boss enemies quickly, with RKR of course.

I had no idea that you could take out those imps for the snowfield tower with a crystal dart. For that, I've always had the imp summons.
You can also get Graven Mass by using the Imp ash spirit summon yourself.
Also, while testing it, even without maxed levels, it's worth testing out Maternal Staff with Impenetrable Thorns, somehow it just seems to add way more than it should.
I love how here dealing half a bosses heath bar is "strong against fire"
About Dancing Lion's fire weakness, Lightning perfumes also had a bug where their damage was doubled sometimes.
Lion has 40 elemental resist but on fire where it has 0.

I nearly one-cycled Bayle at Scadutree Blessing Level 5 with ADLS. I got an impossibly good RNG hit as he was focused on Igon, and it took him down to probably less than 10% of his HP. Lost that attempt, and wasn't able to ever repeat it, but I'll always remember how cool that was.

there is a talisman that boost your damage by 20% when a summon dies, put that with the skelies and you have a respawning damage boost, as long as they dont hit the boss

Not only was the perfumes patched but before they were, the lightning one and the frenzy flame one did double damage "under certain circumstances" so they where even more broken. One thing I'd be interested in testing is the deflecting hardtear with the giant crusher, makes the counter do 80 percent more damage, that plus other buffing should do a lot of damage.
