Unhappy Patrick Harvie scathing attack on Kate Forbes at First Minister's Questions

- At John Swinney's 1st FMQs as Scotland's new First Minister, he had to defend his new Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes.
Ms Forbes came under attack from Scotish Greens co-leader Patrick Harvie who said: 'But we've been equally clear that the first minister must quickly give a signal of the direction his government will take.
Yesterday that signal came pretty clearly progressive ministers sacked and the second most powerful job in government given to someone who has opposed LGBT people's legal equality, who's expressed judgmental attitudes against abortion and who's even expressed the view that people who have families without being married are doing something wrong.
Is this the Scottish government's vision for the future of Scotland, taking us back to the repressive values of the 1950's?'

Perhaps, but having been the cause, source and justification for the vast majority of the suffering and persecution of thousands of gay people growing-up and living in Scotland, including myself- “Christian values” are very much a legitimate point of concern and criticism where legislation around lgbtq+ rights are concerned. I’m not saying she doesn’t have a right to those views, but her bigotry being founded in her faith doesn’t demerit critique.
At least she is honest about her views unlike Humza.
Patrick Harvie's question tells you all you need to know about his party's focus and it's clearly not 'green' issues.

Harvey and Slater have been disastrous for this country and government. He’s banging on about LGBT rights in a free and democratic country because he can, because he’s permitted to. Does his party never reflect on that or does every message have to be negative?
He must realise that the Scottish electorate worry more about issues impacting more than a very vocal minority. Issues such as education, Policing and health are more important to the vast majority so if we sideline the issue he talks about it’s going to be a relief to many that we have a government for the majority, not the minority.

I dont live in Scotland but I can guess the majority dont care about the lgbtq right now with everything else going on, im a londoner (mums Scottish so im not a 100% wanker) and when I hear stuff like this I feel very strongly that the nhs or ending our part in supporting two wars that are none of our business is more important to get done before the lgbtq community feel that they have the same rights that everyone else know they have
Higher earners in Scotland pay far more than their fair share of tax. They are over taxed, that’s why many are questioning commitment to staying and why it’s so hard to bring big earners to the country.
These extreme socialist policies have been tried many times and don’t work in free market economies. History contains many examples. People move freely so they will move or they will bring down the high tax government.

What Scotland and the Scottish people need is more, much more, investment in industry than England and Wales. Scotland needs it to generate employment and to revitalize its own economy and to become self reliant, rather than to be forever relying in and beholden to handouts from Westminster. This has been the biggest problem / issue that remains unaddressed by any political partu platform in our country. Self-reliance through driving industry, not more taxation, is the only way for Scots to even consider econo.ic change, let alone independence! This is where the Greens , Labour, Tories and SNP have failed miserably since Devolution. A frame of mind that appears to have vanished after the Victorian era!
