  • The Scottish Tories will seek to force Michael Matheson to resign in a vote next week, the party’s leader has said.
Douglas Ross accused the former health secretary of “deceit and abuse of trust” in the scandal over his near-£11,000 data roaming bill.
Speaking at First Minister’s Questions, Mr Ross hit out at the First Minister’s description of the process which recommended Mr Matheson be banned for 27 days and sacrifice 54 days of salary as “prejudicial”.
“That is incredible and indefensible by the First Minister,” Mr Ross said of Mr Swinney’s backing of his MSP.
“He told us when asking for our support to make him First Minister, he would be First Minister for all of Scotland.
“What Scotland is seeing is he’s a First Minister that backs his pals.”

Swinney continually states that there has been no cost to the Public Purse, but that's only because Matheson was caught. For many months after submitting his £11000 expenses claim Matheson thought he had got away with it, and it was only when journalists brought the matter to light did anyone know of his actions. He made a claim, knowing full well that it was fraudulent. That is a crime, and paying back the monies does not absolve the culprit of guilt. I am astonished that this matter has not been reported to Police Scotland.

That wee nodding dog is Christine Graeme, who has been lifting the salary for being a snp MSP (70k plus expenses) for the last 17 years.!!!!!!!
And the last time she spoke up (a couple of months ago), was to complain about the quality and the price of the food in the subsidised restaurant in Holyrood.!!!!!
      You couldn't make it up.!!!!!
      Feking appalling.!!!!

Swinney can campaign but Ross can't. No bias on the part of the presiding officer then.

The fact that Swiney has allied himself with Mathewson shows that birds of a feather truly do flock together.

Please vote sensibly. No more power sharing political corrupt parties.
They shouldn't be spending time defending corruption.
