1 Pflaster verbraucht, dann die richtigen Punkte mit dem Schraubendreher gefunden und nach 15 Minuten war das Teil dran. Ich freue mich und es sieht nicht nur gut aus, sondern ist einfach praktischer als die Standardlösung. Schönen Dank Wolfgang 👍
Tut mir leid, dass ich den Ausbau der Abdeckung nicht vereinfachen kann. Ich kann das nach 20 Einbauten perfekt, aber es ist beim ersten Mal wirklich sehr fummelig.
Just came here to say, mine arrived today very promptly to the UK. Really impressed with the quality and fit. Took about 20 minutes to fit with 18 of those trying to pry those clips off the original cover 😂.

Nice to hear that your are happy. Just doing a quick installation video it was hard for me to better point out the removal of the clips.

Absolut geil. Danke lieber Wolfgang. Danke für eine weitere Optimierung, welche BMW selbst einfach versäumt hat. Ich habe tatsächlich erst vor wenigen Tagen dieses Video von CZcams vorgeschlagen bekommen. Hatte vor 2 Jahren deine Kofferraumwanne gekauft und bin nach wie vor begeistert und der Meinung, dass die Serie hätte sein müssen.
Und genau so sehe ich es mit diesen Ladeklappen. Wie sehr haben mich diese elendigen Ladestöpsel genervt. Und meinen 94ah Akku bin ich ja quasi täglich am laden. Das ist eine total unterschätzte Verbesserung des i3. Jeder i3 Fahrer wird das vermutlich bestätigen. Hab die Klappe direkt bestellt und heute schon bekommen. Einbau war einfach. Und sie passen perfekt. Werde auf jeden Fall an jedem Schnelllader an dem andere i3 stehen stolz diese neuen Ladeklappen Bewerben. 😄😄😄

Als die Ladeklappe damals angefragt wurde, hatte ich den Komfortgewinn tatsächlich enorm unterschätzt. Als ich dann den Prototypen getestet habe, ist mir sofort aufgefallen wie viel angenehmer es ist einfach eine Klappe auf und wieder zu zu machen, vor allem weil ich auch täglich laden musste.
@@WOKEBY ja absolut. Seit ich jetzt paar Mal den smart EQ meiner Schwiegermutter zur Ladesäule runter gefahren habe, war ich richtig neidisch auf sie. Der hat das ja quasi so serienmäßig. Da haben mich diese Gummistöpsel gleich noch mehr gestört.
Hello from Ireland. Just ordered mine with bolts nut covers. Look much beter with them and cost only €3 which is great price. Hope they will attached and stay firmly and not goind to fall down after a while. The most tricky part is to remove the original rubber seal cover as i seen some another video where one guy spend lots of time when starting from the right side like in your video so he decided to try first left side and then was so easy to do the same from the right side 😂 . Hope i will sort out my faster 🤔
Klappe ist montiert, die Originalabdeckung hatte ich "gewaltsam" entfernt. Montage der Klappe war easy. Top Produkt!

Durch das Video bin ich überhaupt erst auf dieses geniale Teil gestoßen und habe auch gleich bestellt.
Montage war kein Problem, ich hab die Schrauben händisch festgezogen, das ist mir am sichersten.
Funktioniert super und hätte beim Facelift durchaus in Serie gehen können.
Einziger Wermutstropfen sind die sichtbaren Schrauben. Die originale Abdeckung besonders mit der umlaufenden Dichtung ist schon sehr schön von BMW gemacht aber ist auch nur beim Laden zu sehen und von daher geht Funktion vor Optik.
Wobei die Gummistopfen ja auch keine Zierde sind also ist die Wokeby Lösung deutlich besser.

Eine Gummidichtung wie bei der originalen Abdeckung hätte leider den Preisrahmen gesprengt.

@@WOKEBY Das Schmuckstück ist eben angekommen. Ich möchte euch ein konstruktives Feedback geben:
Hab die Ladeklappe direkt eingebaut. Sehr einfach, auch mit einem 7cm Schlitz-Schraubendreher. Die Ladeklappe ist richtig praktisch, wirkt stabil und die Haptik ist gut. Deutlich schöner als die Gummistopfen ist sie auch.
Sehr gut zuende gedacht: Ihr habt eine Abdeckung für die Halterung der alten Ladestopfen dazu gelegt sowie 4 Kappen für die jetzt ja nicht mehr perfekt lackierten Schrauben. Dadurch sieht es nicht so gebastelt aus. Sehr gut!
Wermutstropfen: Außen sitzt das neue Teil nicht ganz perfekt wie das Originalteil mit dem Gummirand. Keine Ahnung, ob eindringende Feuchtigkeit da jetzt auf lange Sicht Schäden verursachen kann. Hoffentlich nicht.😅
Verbesserungswürdig: Ich fand das Päckchen Haribo unnötig. Das könntet ihr auch weg lassen. Einfach weil da Tierleid drin steckt.💚
Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden und kann euch empfehlen. Die Kofferraumerweiterung vom i3 von 2019 hält nach wie vor und ist ebenfalls extrem praktisch. Freut mich, dass ihr den Preis mit dem neuen Modell von damals 450€ auf jetzt 350€ senken konntet. Weiter so!

Habs nicht geschafft mit dem Schraubendreher, habe dann mit der Zange die Abdeckung zerstückelt, die braucht man ja eh nicht mehr 😂
Diese Klappe ist das Must-Have für jeden i3❤
Ja das ist leider etwas fummelig. Aber man braucht die Abdeckung tatsächlich nicht mehr 😉

Und im Gegenzug hat BMW seine super tollen Ladeklappen aus dem Programm genommen und neue Fahrzeuge kommen nur noch mit den Stopfen...
Das ist mir tatsächlich auch unbegreiflich.
@@WOKEBY Ernsthaft??? 😮 okay muss man nicht verstehen oder Sie wollen Dein Geschäft weiter voran treiben. Vielleicht kannst Du ja für andere Modelle auch solche Klappen anbieten, wäre gut dich oder hat man es nun so gebaut, dass ein einfaches austauschen nicht ohne weiteres möglich ist?
Ich werde deine umbauten / upgrades jedenfalls kräftig weiterempfehlen!
@@Seubertronic Ja tatsächlich. Der BMW i5 hat wieder Stopfen 😀 Aktuell arbeite ich an einer Ladeklappe für MEB Plattform. Prototyp ist am Freitag gekommen. Jetzt muss ich noch etwas testen.
BMW i5 muss ich später sehen wie und ob das geht. Das wird schwer die Abdeckung weg zu bauen, wenn es nicht mein Auto ist 😀

Super easy
Habs erfolgreich eingebaut. Echt super. Aber ist es kein problem, das man jetzt die gummiabdichtung wie beim original nicht mehr hat? Ist das alles auch so dicht genug?
Soweit wir das beurteilen können dient diese Gummilippe eher dazu den Spalt abzudecken. Das Wasser läuft so oder so nach unten ab und der Ladeport selbst ist natürlich wasserdicht.

Great idea. q1. Is there a raised area on left of the caps to put finger under? q2. How is the seal of the new cover I don’t see same body to body link like the old cover (does rear of cover have a rubber seal)?
q1: On the left of each flap there is a raised area and on the bottom plate there is a cutout so you can easily open the flaps.
q2: There is no rubber around because this is impossible to produce in small quantities and acceptable costs. By the way I don't see the point in that rubber seal.

@@WOKEBY I went to order however your already out of the coloured option will you be doing more? Could you put springs on the flaps so to ensure the seal is always made when sockets need covering?
@@colinharvey1049 Yeah what can I say... We were amazed how many people actually wanted the colored version. Actually we were worried to sell maybe 5 and have the rest of them in stock forever.
There is no need for springs. The flaps do already have a kind of spring mechanism but when you close the upper flat it will snap in place noticeably. So it is closed or open.
The bottom flap is kept closed if you plug in a charging cable.
Any chance we'll ever see a US version. I'd love to get this on my i3

Sorry for the long response time. I am currently preparing a Kickstarter to make a Charge Port Flap for the US market. As you can imagine it is quite an effort and with the BMW i3 already withdrawn I want to make sure not to sink some 5 digit investment.

why the odd screw constellation? it would look better if you left the two middle screws and had your cover just use the top and bottom ones
Why are they odd? It would have been better to use the bottom right screw instead of the middle one though. Realized it after the prototypes.

There is no isse. The chargeport itself is sealed and the water will run into the side of the car anyways.
Does the closing the door properly close the flaps? Had mine get stuck, when my gf didn’t push the bongs in all the way.
No. Closing the Charging Port Door does not close the flaps

Hallo. Was sehr nuetzlich waere ist eine art "Gummidach" , Gummilappen ueber diesen Steckern, damit kein Regen oder Schnee in die Kontakte beim laden hineingelangt,

The installation is easy. The only tricky part is to remove the original cover. But you can judge yourself ;-)

Take a look at your charging port and you will see the difference if you compare it to the port in the video.
The upper part of the US port is round and has a cutout above.
The real issues: it is positioned futher down and is elevated.
So no chance to rework the EU version and I would need to come up with a whole new concept + new tools.

BMW improved and delivers its newer cars with awesome Charge Port Flaps. So no they wont fit but an i4 has already very good ones.

@@WOKEBY Its a California BMW but imported to Canada as a fleet, Warranty expired in August and BMW said they had no support for i3's before 2018 even warranty!!
@@MrAlan1828 OK. But please be aware that the charge port flap will only be available for the EU version. The US version uses a completely different port.

@@chrisli210 US and Asian models use the Typ1 Combo CCS port. The upper part is completely differend and I cannot tell how the port looks under the cover because I don't have access to these models here.
If your port looks the same as in the video the charge port flap will fit. If it looks differnt it wont.

Platz wäre da schon, aber dadurch würde das komplette Produkt erheblich komplexer und dadurch teurer.
Das neue BMW Design ist wirklich klasse, aber in Kleinserie nicht zu einem vertretbaren Preis zu realisieren.
Prima Produkt, leicht zu installieren. Leider sehr sehr teuer !

Das wäre nicht ganz uninteressant für den neuen BMW i5. Im Gegensatz zum BMW i4, haben sie die schönen ausklappbaren Ladeklappen leider eingespart. Dort hängt es einfach an einem Gummiband, was erstaunlich ist, da es das teurere Fahrzeug ist.

Zu meinem Entsetzen habe ich das auch gesehen. Die beste Ladeklappenlösung auf dem Markt ersetzt durch einen Witz. Identisch beim i7. Mir fehlen da echt die Worte für solche Aktionen. i5 habe ich mir schon vorgemerkt, kann aber noch dauern.
